Abstract

Abstract This study aims to examine the relationship between parental support and school well-being with students' learning motivation. The subjects of this research were students of SMP Negeri 17 Surabaya, with a total population of 883 students. A sample of 125 students was selected using purposive sampling technique. The data were initially analyzed using multiple linear regression, which was later adjusted to the Spearman Rho method. The findings revealed that both parental support and school well-being simultaneously have a significant relationship with students' learning motivation. Furthermore, each independent variable also demonstrated a significant partial correlation with the dependent variable. The implications of this research highlight the essential role of emotional support and a positive school environment in fostering students' academic development. Keywords: Learning Motivation, Parental Support, School Well-Being Abstrak Kajian memiliki tujuan guna mencari tahu hubungan antara dukungan orang tua dan school well-being dengan motivasi belajar siswa. Subjek pada kajian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 17 Surabaya dengan jumlah populasi 883 siswa dan sampel sebanyak 125 siswa yang dipilih mengenakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis yang dikenakan yaitu regresi linear berganda, kemudian beralih menjadi Spearman Rho. Luaran kajian membuktikan bahwa dukungan orang tua dan school well-being secara simultan memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan motivasi belajar, dan secara parsial tiap-tiap variabel bebas juga menunjukkan hasil signifikan. Implikasi dari kajian ini menekankan pentingnya dukungan emosional dan lingkungan dalam perkembangan akademik siswa. Kata Kunci: Dukungan Orang Tua, Motivasi Belajar, School Well-Being

Abstract

Abstract The early stages of adulthood are marked by changes characterised by demands and challenges, which have the potential to affect an individual's psychological well-being. This present study was conducted to examine the relationship between social support and resilience and psychological well-being in individuals in the early adulthood age range. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational design. A total of 306 young adults residing in Surabaya were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through the distribution of a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure social support, resilience, and psychological well-being. This study analysed the data using Spearman's correlation. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between social support and resilience with psychological well-being. This present study offers a contribution to enriching the understanding of the role of internal and external factors in shaping psychological well-being, particularly during the early adulthood phase. Keywords: Early Adulthood; Psychological Well-Being; Resilience; Social Support Abstrak Tahap awal kedewasaan ditandai oleh perubahan yang diwarnai oleh tuntutan hingga tantangan, yang berpotensi memengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologis individu. Penelitian ini dilakukan guna mengkaji adanya hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan resiliensi dengan psychological well-being pada individu rentang usia dewasa awal. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional digunakan dalam studi ini. Sebanyak 306 partisipan dewasa awal yang berdomisili di Surabaya dengan teknik purposive sampling. Perolehan data dilaksanakan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner berbasis skala Likert untuk mengukur dukungan sosial, resiliensi, serta psychological well-being. Penelitian ini menganalisis data menggunakan korelasi Spearman. Temuan menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dan resiliensi dengan psychological well-being. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memperkaya pemahaman mengenai peran faktor internal dan eksternal dalam membangun psychological well-being, khususnya bagi fase dewasa awal.
