Abstract

The performance of the Yapen Island Regency's Agriculture and Food Security Agency, as the responsible local government agency in developing the local agriculture sector, is still far from optimal, as seen from the decrease in its budget absorption. This study aims to determine and analyze the influences of work motivation, leadership, and work environment on employee performance at the mentioned local government agency. This quantitative research used a survey employing a questionnaire as a research instrument. Of 108 public officers became the sample. Multiple regression tests analyzed data with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that 1) there was a significant influence of motivation on employee performance, 2) there was a significant effect of leadership on employee performance, 3) there was a significant effect of the work environment on employee performance, and 4) motivation was the most dominant factor in affecting employee performance at the observed local government agency.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas V SDN Kateguhan 01 dan SDN Kateguhan 02, sejumlah 90 peserta didik.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik antara yang diajar dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dan Contextual Teaching and Learning. Penelitian ini dimulai bulan Januari 2021 sampai dengan bulan Juni 2021. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif, jenis penelitian komparatif. Counterbalanced Design atau desain berimbang, merupakan desain untuk memberikan perlakuan yang seimbang terhadap dua kelas eksperimen. Hasil belajar matematika peserta didik yang diajar dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education nilai rata-rata 77,13.  Hasil belajar matematika peserta didik yang diajar dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning, nilai rata-rata 76,77. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara peserta didik yang diajar dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education dan Contektual Teaching and Learning. Kesimpulan kedua pendekatan tersebut sama-sama baik, dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar matematika menjadi lebih baik.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze problems in online communities to help solve problems faced by Open University (OU) students in terms of topics discussed in online communities, problems that arise in online communities, the process of counseling guidance in online communities, improving student problem-solving skills after discussing in online communities. This research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive design. All Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students who post on online community services, from January 2019 to December 2019 as research objects. Data were collected using the documentary method and a problem-solving ability test for students from the Bojonegoro study group. Data from the online community is described based on the proportions while the problem-solving ability with N-gain, sensitivity, and completeness. The results showed: (1) The topics discussed in the online community service were introductions, registration, tutoring/study, and grades/exams; (2) Problems that arise in online community services are registration, tutorials, grades, and exams; (3) The process of counseling guidance in online community services for student problems is karstic; (4) Students' problem-solving ability after discussing in online community services increases and is in high criteria.

Abstract

Printed teaching materials (PTM) is the main source of student learning Open University (OU). In the learning process, PTM commonly known as the subject matter of the book (BMP), which presents the material in the module. BMP in higher education open and distance (PTJJ) is designed using a tight structure with a load of information and knowledge-intensive. The purpose of writing this article is to analyze the level of legibility BMP material and effectiveness of instructional design through field trials. The study design was a formative evaluation with a qualitative approach, by taking the object of research BMP Training Management. The informants were 30 students who have not taken the PS Agribusiness Management Training courses. Informants were selected from UT Jember with criteria GPA <2,00; 2,00 to 2,50; and GPA> 2,50, selected 10 students in each criterion. The collection of data through questionnaires and interviewing students directly. Data were analyzed with data reduction, classifying, and draw conclusions. The results showed that in general the material module can be understood, but there are some sentences that are too long and thus require full concentration for students to understand and still found the words that are difficult to understand. For some students, there are examples of confusing and difficult to understand. Images can support material explanation, but there are some images that need to be refined appearance to the students more easily understand. Effectiveness was measured effectiveness of instructional design guidance and encouragement in modules to help students understand the module. Most students do not understand the meaning of the solicitation and guidance. Small tasks can help students to recall the material that has been read. Student formative tests can be understood as the question in accordance with the contents of the module. These results are then used to revise the module. Bahan ajar cetak (BAC) merupakan sumber belajar utama mahasiswa Universitas Terbuka (UT). Dalam proses pembelajaran, BAC biasa dikenal dengan buku materi pokok (BMP) yang menyajikan materi dalam modul. BMP pada pendidikan tinggi terbuka dan jarak jauh (PTTJJ) didesain menggunakan struktur yang ketat dengan memuat informasi dan pengetahuan yang padat. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah menganalisis tingkat keterbacaan materi BMP dan efektivitas desain instruksional melalui uji coba lapangan. Rancangan penelitian adalah evaluasi formatif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan mengambil objek penelitian BMP Manajemen Pelatihan. Informan penelitian adalah 30 orang mahasiswa PS Agribisnis yang belum mengambil mata kuliah Manajemen Pelatihan. Informan dipilih dari UT Jember dengan kriteria IPK <2,00; 2,00-2,50; dan IPK>2,50, dipilih 10 mahasiswa pada setiap kriteria. Pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner dan mewawancarai mahasiswa secara langsung. Data dianalisis dengan mereduksi data, mengelompokkan, dan mengambil kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum materi modul dapat dimengerti, tetapi ada beberapa kalimat yang masih terlalu panjang sehingga membutuhkan konsentrasi penuh bagi mahasiswa untuk memahaminya dan masih ditemukan kata-kata yang sulit dimengerti. Bagi sebagian mahasiswa, ada contoh yang membingungkan dan sulit difahami. Gambar dapat menunjang penjelasan materi, namun ada beberapa gambar yang perlu disempurnakan tampilannya agar mahasiswa lebih mudah memahami. Efektivitas desain instruksional diukur efektivitas bimbingan dan ajakan dalam modul untuk membantu mahasiswa memahami modul. Sebagian mahasiswa belum memahami makna ajakan dan bimbingan. Tugas-tugas kecil dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam mengingat kembali materi yang sudah dibaca. Tes formatif dapat difahami mahasiswa karena pertanyaannya sesuai dengan isi modul. Hasil penelitian ini selanjutnya digunakan untuk merevisi modul.

Abstract

proses sains yang baik akan mampu menguasai materi pelajaran dan memiliki pola pikir yang ilmiah dan sistematis, baik saat proses pembelajaran maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Walaupun penting bagi siswa namun beberapa fakta menunjukkan siswa masih memiliki kesulitan dalam melakukan proses sains. Dalam melaksanakan proses sains, siswa masih kesulitan dalam merumuskan hipotesis, mengidentifikasi variabel, dan merancang penyelidikan. Untuk itu dicobakan pembelajaran IPA dengan menerapkan model inkuiri untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa di sekolah dasar. Pembelajaran dilakukan selama tiga kali pertemuan pada tiga sekolah yang berbeda. Tahapan pelaksanaan penelitian dimulai dari pemberian pre-test. Selanjutnya guru melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran IPA dengan menerapkan model inkuiri dan diakhir dengan memberikan soal post-test untuk mengukur ketercapaian keterampilan proses sains siswa. Proses pembelajaran dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan sintaks pembelajaran model inkuiri. Pada setiap pembelajaran, siswa melakukan penyelidikan ilmiah pada materi pelajaran sifat-sifat wujud benda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan proses sains siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan. Siswa mampu memberikan gagasan berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dan penyelidikan ilmiah. Siswa mampu membuat hipotesis dan melakukan pembuktian dengan melakukan penyelidikan ilmiah dan mempresentasikan pengetahuan sains.

Abstract

Keterampilan menulis merupakan keterampilan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa yang salah satunya dapat diwujudkan dalam bentuk laporan setelah melakukan praktikum. Siswa yang terbiasa menulis laporan akan mampu menghubungkan hasil penyelidikan dan memberikan argumen sehingga melatih siswa untuk berpikir kritis. Walaupun keterampilan menulis memiliki banyak manfaat bagi siswa, namun fakta di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa untuk menyusun laporan praktikum banyak hambatan yang ditemui. Dalam penelitian ini dicobakan implementasi model project-based learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis laporan praktikum dalam pembelajaran IPA pada siswa sekolah dasar. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan selama tiga kali pertemuan di tiga kelas paralel. Selama proses pembelajaran, siswa melakukan praktikum IPA tentang rangkaian listrik sederhana dan hasil praktikumnya ditulis dalam bentuk laporan. Keterampilan menulis yang dinilai meliputi aspek konten dan aspek presentasi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis laporan praktikum siswa mengalami peningkatan dari pertemuan satu sampai pertemuan tiga, baik untuk aspek konten maupun aspek presentasi. Keterampilan menulis laporan dari pertemuan 1 ke pertemuan 2 meningkat dalam kategori sedang, dan pertemuan 2 ke pertemuan 3 meningkat dalam kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat dinyatakan bahwa implementasi model project-based learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis laporan praktikum.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a UT student service system design at the Distance Learning Unit (UPBJJ) by applying Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This research is a research and development using the method developed by Borg and Gall. In the first year, field studies, data analysis, and design development will be carried out. In the second year, application development and field trials were carried out. The results of the study found that the majority of respondents had access. Most respondents had no difficulty accessing THE services, TMK, online tutorials and web tutorials. The limitation of this research is that some of the available information does not match the respondent's needs and is difficult to reach. There is no problem with UPBJJ's internal management. The recommendations given are to adjust the organizational structure of the Distance Learning Unit (UPBJJ) and revise information about THE services, TMK, online tutorials, and web tutorials so that they are easily accessible and the contents can be used as guidelines for students in accessing Open University Services (UT). This research can be developed by focusing on public trust in distance learning.

Abstract

The IV grade students of SDN Wirowongso 01 are less motivated to follow the learning since assuming that it is complicated and less attractive. Based on the teacher's analysis, it is known that the student's achievement in following the learning was not maximum, in which 6 students got 50; 3 students got 60; 15 students got 70; 3 students got 80, and 2 students got 90 from the total 29 students. Based on the data, the researcher implemented project-based learning combined with photonovel to make the learning more exciting and meaningful. So, there was an improvement in the students' science process skills and critical thinking ability. The data collection procedures used were test and non-test. The data were the result of pretest and post-tests carried out by the students in the experimental and control classes. It can be seen from the pretest data that there was an improvement. However, through more profound analysis, the control class with conventional learning had never shown optimum improvement. Then, the N-Gain relative effectiveness calculation on pretest and post-test in both classes showed an improvement. Nevertheless, for the control class, the calculation result showed 0.23810 or in the lowest range. Meanwhile, the experimental class obtained 0.58696 or moderate category, in which the N Gained for the combination showed 2.456>1. This means that the implementation of project-based learning with photonovel to 29 students in the experimental class was more effective than conventional learning in the control class.

Abstract

This study aimed at developing STAD type-based cooperative learning materials to improve students’ collaborative thinking skill. The study used Research and Development (R&D) method by Thiagarajan which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminative. The developed materials included RPP, LKPD and THPD. The validity result of the pre test and post test showed that the materials fulfilled valid criteria. The validity test was done using SPSS 14 program and the results showed that Sig. (2- tailed) value was lower than (≤) 0,05 and thus considered valid, and the Alpha Croncbrach was higher than (≥) 0,60 which made it considered reliable. The validity test for the results of practicality observation test showed a result of very practical and the effectivity results were gained from one-sample t-test that was by comparing the pre-test and post-test scores, which showed that the students and teacher’s activity in the limited classroom fulfilled the criteria practical and effective. The STAD type cooperative learning materials developed in this study had significant effects on students’ collaborative thinking skill in solving addition and subtraction problems. Based on the table of descriptive results for paired sample t-test, it can be concluded that there was differences on the average score of 85 > 71,67 and Sig.(2-tailed) = 0,000 which means Sig. < 0,05. Based on those results, it can be concluded that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted which means that the learning results between pre-test and post-test were different.

Abstract

Elementary school often applies a scientific approach to train students to discover the science phenomena. This research was intended to analyze the process, results and effectiveness after applying the illustrated science student worksheets with scientific approach concerning the weather theme and its effects on humans. The design used in this research was descriptive quantitative and done by 38 students of third grade at SDN Patrang 02 Jember Regency. The analysis of the scientific approach emphasized on research and development, quantitative and descriptive qualitative statistical data analysis. Descriptive qualitative data analysis was taken from interviews with students and questionnaires as well as the pictures of students’ works. It was obtained from the results of interviews, questionnaires and students’ work results. This test covered a large group class of 10 students and a small group class of 28 students. This research involved a large class design of 28 students and a small class of 10 students. The research instruments used were questionnaire, interview, observation, pre-test and post-test. The research analysis was tested for its validity, practicality, effectiveness, normality, homogeneity, and t-test. The results showed that the illustrated science student worksheets with scientific approach developed were valid, practical and effective. According to the analysis on the results of pre-test and post-test in a small class (10 students), there was an increase in the percentage from 58.08% to 83.3%. The analysis on the results of the pre-test post-test in a large class (28 students) got an increase from 54.44% to 88.7%. It claimed that the results of pre-test and post-test developed in the illustrated science student worksheets with scientific approach in both small and large classes improved the students’ questioning skills and learning outcomes during their learning in weather theme and its effects on humans at SDN Patrang 02 Jember
