Abstract

Kajian fisika real life bermanfaat dalam pembelajaran fisika karena menyediakan sumber belajar kontekstual yang dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk memperkaya sumber-sumber belajar kontekstual maka perlu dilakukan kajian terhadap berbagai fenomena kontekstual, salah satunya adalah kajian kinematika peristiwa kecelakaan yang terjadi di daerah blackspot. Peristiwa kecelakaan merupakan peristiwa kontekstual yang dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari dan dapat dikaji secara kinematika gerak. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan kajian kinematika gerak tentang peristiwa kecelakaan sehingga dapat digunakan untuk memperkaya rancangan sumber belajar kontekstual. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitis. Penelitian diawali dengan pengumpulan data sekunder tentang kronologi kejadian kecelakaan yang ada di kepolisian dan beberapa surat kabar. Penelitian dilanjutkan dengan pengumpulan data di lapangan, yaitu data bentuk lintasan, jenis kendaraan yang lewat, dan kecepatan kendaraan yang melewati daerah blackspot. Data-data tersebut kemudian dianalisis menurut kajian kinematika gerak. Hasil kajian peristiwa kontekstual berupa kronologi kecelakaan dan besaran-besaran dinamis serta simulasi agar kecelakaan dapat dihindari. Hasil kajian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan acuan utama untuk mengembangkan sumber belajar kontekstual dan memberikan contoh nyata dalam pembelajaran fisika karena siswa dapat dengan mudah menaksirkan kejadian kontekstual tersebut. Contextual physics studies are useful in physics learning. It provides a source of contextual learning that is close to everyday life. To enrich the sources of contextual learning, it is necessary to study the various contextual phenomena, one of which is the kinematics study of accidents that occurred in the police office and newspaper. An accident is contextual events that are close to everyday life and can be studied in kinematic motion. Therefore, it is necessary to study the kinematics of motion about accidents so that it can be used to enrich the concept of contextual learning resources. The research method used descriptive analytical. The research begins with the completion of secondary data about the chronology of accidents in the police and several newspapers. Further research with field data, i.e trajectory data, passing vehicle type, and vehicle speed passing through blackspot area. The data are then analyzed according to motion kinematics studies. Review results are the contextual event, the chronology of accidents, dynamic quantities, and simulations for accidents. The results of this study are expected to serve as the main reference material for the development of contextual learning resources and provide a real example in physics learning because it can estimate the contextual events.

Abstract

In order to persuade, a speaker must analyze the speech situation and adapt his or her speech to it. In discussions about rhetoric, Aristotle is recognized as an expert in rhetoric who devoted more than a third of his Art of Rhetoric to study of the audience. Ever since, rhetoricians have taught that a speaker who would persuade others to believe and to act in a certain way must understand how the listeners feel, what they want, and what they need; the speaker must begin where the listeners are. A persuasive writing or speaking is often aimed at the heart or the stomach instead of the head. That is, some things or reasons are more acceptable to the readers or listeners’ feeling (in the stomach) than to their logic (in the head) . Instead of being logical only, therefore, a persuasive speaker needs to add some strategies to win the listeners’ assent. Discussed in terms of tripartite as the core theory of rhetoric, this paper is intended to analyse English students’ replies to their customers’ requests through WhatsApp business role-playing. The findings show that most of the students’ replies need to be rhetorically modified to make them more persuasive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the student's ability to interpret graphics on motion kinematics material. The research was conducted in four private schools, namely the Thamavitya School in Yala Province, the Romanian School in Naratiwatn Province, the Azizstan Foundation School in Pattani Province, and the Seangtam Wittaya Foundation School in Senggora Province. Research respondents were class X IPA students in the even semester of 2019/2020 with a total of 160 people. The research instrument was a test in the form of multiple choice questions along with 10 points of reasons. The results showed that in general the students' ability to interpret graphics on the motion kinematics material was categorized less. In detail, the results show that the ability to determine the meaning of gradients on categorized graphs is very lacking, the ability to determine data from a range of categorized variables is sufficient, the ability to determine data on independent and dependent variables on categorized graphs is lacking, the ability to determine relationships between variables on categorized graphs is lacking.

Abstract

In 2020, the massive spread of Covid-19 led to several new policies. To diminish the spread of Covid-19, the Indonesian government made a strict policy, namely a social distancing policy. The Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia publishes an education policy. One of the policies is that the teaching and learning process must be done at home with online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The main of the study was to present a literature review of the psychological impact of e-learning on teachers. Researchers observed and examined sixteen articles relating to the psychological effects of e-learning on teachers. The type of study method used in this research is library research. The results showed that due to the many kinds of online learning platforms and many factors that influence online learning success, teachers experience some difficulties and challenges in conducting online learning. The problems and challenges faced by teachers have a psychological impact on teachers. Teachers experience stress, anxiety, frustration, insecurity, and depression. In conclusion, many teachers experience stress, anxiety, frustration, insecurity, and depression as a psychological impact of e-learning. Researchers hope that the results of this study can be used as an information and a reference for researchers for further research

Abstract

Aliran dam sawah identik dengan materi dinamika fluida, yaitu mempelajari tentang fluida dalam kondisi mengalir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konsep dinamika fluida pada aliran dam sawah daerah Cluring kabupaten Banyuwangi Jawa Timur. Langkah penelitian ini diawali dengan pengumpulan data primer hasil dari pengamatan langsung di lapangan, selanjutnya melakukan perhitungan matematis menggunakan persamaan kontinuitas untuk memperoleh data sekunder berupa kecepatan dan debit aliran dam sawah. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengukur kecepatan dan debit aliran dam sawah menggunakan metode apung. Hasil identifikasi konsep dinamika fluida pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara luas penampang terhadap kecepatan aliran air dam sawah berbanding terbalik. Semakin besar nilai luas penampang, kecepatan aliran yang dihasilkan akan semakin kecil, demikian juga sebaliknya. Perbandingan debit aliran air dam sawah berdasarkan waktu pengukurannya memiliki perubahan nilai yang signifikan, sedangkan perbandingan debit aliran air dam sawah berdasarkan pada jenis penampangnya memiliki perubahan nilai yang relatif konstan. Hasil identifikasi konsep dinamika fluida pada aliran dam sawah tersebut sesuai dengan rumus dan teori persamaan kontinuitas

Abstract

This study aims to examine the characteristics of the lift motion based on apparent weight data. This type of research is quantitative research with a survey method. The results showed that the apparent weight change only occurred when the elevator started moving and just before it stopped, acceleration at the beginning of the motion and deceleration at the end of the motion. Elevator has two characteristics of motion; straight motion with constant velocity and straight motion with constant acceleration. Straight motion with constant acceleration consists of accelerated motion that occurs at the beginning of the elevator motion, and straight motion with constant acceleration slowed down at the end of the elevator motion. Meanwhile, straight motion with constant velocity occurs with a longer duration. Abstract

The application of problem based learning in the classroom often experiences obstacles, primarily to teach high-level thinking skills, such as critical thinking skills. To overcome these obstacles, in this study we tried the use of peer tutors to guide their friends in a collaborative group when solving problems. This study aims to describe the impact of peer tutoring in problem-based learning on the critical thinking skills of high school physics students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this research is class X MIPA 3 and X MIPA 4 SMAN 4 Jember. One class was given treatment using problem-based learning accompanied by peer tutoring, while one other class only used problem-based learning. Data about critical thinking skills were obtained from the posttest at the end of learning which was then analyzed using the Independent Sample T-test on SPSS 23. The statistical test results stated that there were differences between the average values of the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it is concluded that peer tutoring in the problem-based learning model has a significant effect on critical thinking skills. The essential aspect of thinking skills with the highest value lies in interpreting skills.

Abstract

Menarik untuk dibahas hasil belajar mahasiswa calon guru IPA yang menempuh mata kuliah Cahaya dan Penglihatan cenderung rendah. Lebih dari separuh mahasiswa gagal meraih predikat B. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang berupaya untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis kesulitan mahasiswa Pendidikan IPA dalam menyelesaikan persoalan. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester lima Pendidikan IPA FKIP Universitas Jember tahun ajaran 2019/2020 semester gasal berjumlah 83 mahasiswa. Analisis dengan menampilkan tabel distribusi frekuensi, Histogram, Means, Varians, Standar Deviasi dan Angket. Sebanyak 68% mahasiswa memiliki rentang nilai 51-70. Varians dan Standar deviasi rata-rata semua kelas masing-masing sebesar 29 dan 5,5. Faktor penyebab rendahnya nilai belajar adalah kurang siapnya dalam menghadapi Ujian tengah dan Akhir Semester. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh nilai rata-rata nilai UTS berkisar antara 54-61 dan UAS sebesar 66-71. Nilai UTS dan UAS sangat berpengaruh karena memiliki porsi 60% dari nilai akhir. Menurut observasi, mahasiswa kesulitan mengerjakan soal hitungan dan berbahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media videoscribe terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP pada pembelajaran IPA untuk materi klasifikasi materi dan perubahannya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experimental design menggunakan desain penelitian pretest and posttest desig. Sampel adalah kelas VII SMP Negeri 11 Jember dengan sampel sebanyak dua kelas, yaitu kelas VII E sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII D sebagai kelas kontrol. Pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen menggunakan media videoscribe sedangkan kelas kontrol dilakukan pembelajaran secara konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes, observasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan Uji Independent Sample T-test yang telah terdistribusi normal dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media videoscribe berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP pada materi klasifikasi materi dan perubahannya. Tampilan media yang menarik berupa video, animasi, gambar, dan suara dapat menstimulus peserta didik dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis.
