Abstract

The aspect that most influences the functioning of this telecommunications service is the aspect of maintaining the equipment or assets supporting the telecommunications service. For this reason, companies must periodically measure the performance of their maintenance so that telecommunications services continue to function properly. From the data, the frequency of damage to the diesel generator engine from 2017 to 2020 is very high. In the period 2017 to 2020 there were a total of 90 times the damage, and the biggest contributor to the damage was in the 20kVA Deutz diesel engine. The purpose of this research is to know how the maintenance conditions are and to know the level of effectiveness and to know the right recommendations to increase the effectiveness of the diesel generator engine. The research method used is RCM (Reliability Centered maintanance) which is a technique used to develop scheduled preventive maintenance. Research results obtained, the component whose frequency is often damaged in the Deutz generator diesel engine is the Alternator. This selection is based on the highest number of damage frequencies and the longest downtime for approximately 3 years. Calculation of the Alternator's Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) value is 25305 hours, which means that the Alternator component will experience damage again after operating for 25305 hours. While the Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) value of the Alternator is 22.54 hours, which means that the average time to repair the Alternator component is 22.54 hours. From the calculation of the Reliability Value, the alternator is said to still have a good function because the average value interval is still in the range 0 <R (t) <1. From the analysis results obtained the value of β of 1.64205. With this value (β> 1), the appropriate types of maintenance for the Alternator component are Preventive and Time Based Maintenance.Keywords: Reliability Centered Maintenance, Critical Components, Maintenance.

Abstract

Jumlah angkatan kerja di Riau pada Februari 2015 mencapai 2.974.014 orang, atau naik 172,849 orang (6,17 persen) dibandingkan jumlah angkatan kerja pada Februari 2014 sebesar 2.801.165 orang. Jumlah penduduk yang bekerja di Riau pada Februari 2015 sebesar 2,774,245 orang atau bertambah 112,918 orang (4,2 persen) dibandingkan dengan keadaan pada Februari 2014. Tingkat pengangguran terbuka pada Februari 2015 sebesar 6,72 persen, lebih tinggi dibandingkan keadaan pada Februari 2014 (4,99 persen). Sebagian besar para remaja putus sekolah usia produktif tidak memiliki keterampilan berwirausaha sehingga tidak bisa mendapatkan atau menciptakan lapangan kerja. Jumlah bengkel las di kecamatan Sukajadi khususnya kelurahan sukajadi relatif masih kurang dibandingkan dengan jumlah pengguna jasa las. Masih kurangnya pembinaan terhadap Sebagian besar Para remaja putus sekolah usia produktif untuk mendapatkan/menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan khususnya dibidang teknik pengelasan. Teknik mesin fakultas teknik UMRI,menyelenggarakan pengabdian dalam bentuk kegiatan pelatihan keterampilan las pada remaja putus sekolah usia produktif di kelurahan Sukajadi Kecamatan Sukajadi kota Pekanbaru , pelatihan dilaksanakan selama lima hari dengan jumlah peserta 10 orang. Para peserta secara langsung praktek dibawah bimbingan dan pengawasan pelaksana pelatihan yang bertindak sebagai instruktur. Metode demontrasi dan peragaan ini sangat efektif untuk pelatihan las , peserta pelatihan menerapkan modul yang telah didiskusikan dengan tim pelaksana, secara langsung pada peralatan las yang telah disiapkan oleh panitia.

Abstract

Industri pengecoran logam umumnya menggunakan baja karbon sebagai bahan baku utama. Hal ini disebabkan oleh besarnya kebutuhan industri terutama industri pengolahan kelapa sawit, kertas dan industri lainnya terhadap komponen mesin yang diproduksi dengan teknik pengecoran logam. Banyak dipakainya baja karbon pada industri tersebut mengakibatkan bahan tersebut harus mengalami penyesuaian pada sifat mekanis yang diinginkan oleh pemakainya, salah satu langkah yang dapat diambil adalah dengan melakukan proses perlakuan panas, proses ini akan sangat bergantung pada komposisi kimia bahan, suhu pemanasan, waktu penahanan (hold time) dan kecepatan pendinginan (cooling rates). Kegiatan Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa SMK di lingkungan kampus tentang pengaruh proses pendinginan paska perlakuan panas terhadap sifat mekanik logam terutama nilai kekerasannya. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi motivasi bagi siswa dalam mempelajari ilmu metalurgi.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) is research conducted by teachers in their own class by planning, implementing and reflecting actions collaboratively and participatively with the aim of improving performance as a teacher so that student learning outcomes can improve. Thus PTK can facilitate teachers to develop an understanding of pedagogy in order to improve their learning. This training also invites teacher friends to step into various records that after being processed can manifest into a quality study. Carry out research on what is done daily by a teacher who can finally produce a work called PTK. This can happen if a general sequence of procedures, which starts from the identification of research problems encountered until the final report is recorded. So, it is very important that this procedure is understood and adhered to by the teacher who is researching. The overall service activities are quite good in terms of the target number of participants and enthusiasm in receiving the material provided.

Abstract

The incident on the piston rod that experienced material failure occurred in the avanza 1500cc car. in the use of the car is not yet up to 1 year of use, the car was purchased in October 2015 and in April 2016 has been damaged in the area of the combustion chamber including connecting rod that experienced at the near end of the bing end, caused by many factors, it is necessary to test on the connecting rod to get the cause of the failure that occurred. Analyzes the failure of the connecting rod components by means of hardness testing, metalorgraphy testing and chemical composition testing. connecting rod analyzed is connecting rod car avanza veloz 1500CC. with material from the connecting rod is AISI 4340. from the results of hardness testing obtained an average hardness value of 125.9 VHN. As for the standard of violence on AISI 4340 the minimum value of violence that must be met is 228 VHN. Where the lowest hardness value of the component is 84.7 VHN. In microstructure testing, phases such as ferrite (light-colored), pearlit (dark color) and slightly cementite phase are found. While on testing the chemical composition of carbon (C) element is the lowest element that is equal to 0.23% with composition ratio on AISI 4340 steel with carbon content of 0.38% where viewed from the carbon content, the component belonging to low carbon steel causing failure this is the incompatibility of hardness value, chemical composition with AISI 4340 standard.

Abstract

Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a maintenance analysis method used to improve maintenance systems that focus on improving machine reliability. The problems that occur in the Wartsila machine at the Balipungut Duri Electricity Center is the frequent occurrence of machine failure that causes the low reliability of the machine. From the data of 2014-2016 years, a study of engine failure time in the line gas system that causes cessation of the machine. The study was carried out by FMEA treatment, damage rate and Weibull distribution data. The result of analysis shows that there is a critical component at Main gas admission valve that is at gas admission valve, admission valve filter and gas pipe feed. The rate of damage to the Main gas admission valve with the weibull distribution has a reduced rate of damage for b <1, of 0.010627 of this value can be known recommended treatment is Reactive / preventive maintenance and inpection maintenance.

Abstract

Shaft gear is one part of the machine components that experience dynamic load will occur voltage fluctuations. When the fluctuations occur repeatedly as often as possible, there will be failure, even though the maximum voltage that occurs is still smaller than the static strength of the wheel axle material. Failure of a shaft material is inseparable from the characteristics of its structure. Failure of the shaft occurs at points where there is a voltage concentration, where the source of the stress concentration on the machine element, can be pull, groove, hole, thread, pegs and others. The weakness or failure of a SS 304 carbon steel material used as a shaft is influenced by many factors. It should be noted that the breakage of a material always begins at places where stress concentration occurs with its loading pattern. In response to the above problems, a failure analysis of the gear shaft of Stainless Steel AISI 304 is required. By testing the metal mechanical properties by tensile testing, hardness testing, obtained from fatigue test with tensile strength of 812 , 97 MPa in diameter 13 shaft of gear and 825,37 MPa for diameter 16 and yield strength of SS 304 for diameter 13 is 806,03 N / mm2 while diameter 16 equal to 821,20 N / mm2. The result of fatty test shows the three stresses given at diameter 12 (mm) of 61.2 Mpa then the resulting cycle amounted to 87476 for 145 Minutes at 2800 speed, in contrast to the fatigue test results for a given voltage of 76.5 Mpa, resulting in 87354 for 120 minutes, resulting in the greater the applied stress the cycle and time will be faster the occurrence of fatality in the material Stainless Steel AISI 304.Hardness value (Hardening) on shaft gears with Stainless Steel AISI 304 material no difference between shaft diameter 13 of HB: 133 and diameter 16 of HB: 133. The difference in diameter on the shaft does not affect the hardness value in the shaft material of the gear. Factors that affect or tend to alter the condition of fatigue or fatigue strength are the types of loading, rotation, environmental humidity (corrosion), stress concentration, temperature, material fatigue, chemical composition of materials, residual stresses.

Abstract

In applying maintenance management to the cryogenic system for the production of Oxygen and Nitrogen, you must first know the equipment in the cryogenic system, know the level of damage to the equipment, know how to perform maintenance, know how to prevent and know how to repair. The research objectives to be achieved are: Knowing critical equipment in the cryogenic system in the process of producing Oxygen (O2) and Nitrogen (N2), Determine policy, maintenance maintenance activities based on the distribution of damage, namely the weibull distribution using the Reliabilty Centered maintenance method. on the compressor equipment in the cryogenic system so that no failure occurs, Determine the inspection time interval on the compressor in the Oxygen Plant PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Perawang Paper. At this stage every failure mode is known. Task selection is carried out to determine the type of maintenance policy that is the most effective for each failure mode. As well as determining the relationship of existing task failures, whether the failure is directly related to Time Directed (TD), Condition Directed (CD), Failure Finding (FF) and grouping of failure modes in the Hidden Failure (D) category. So in the end we get an effective type of treatment. The results of the selection of appropriate treatment measures for the company is with TD (Time Directed) treatment. In calculations using the distribution of damage (Weibull) and identify the value betha (β) has a decreased damage rate β> 1, amounting to 1.531880662, from the value it is known that the recommended maintenance is Preventive Maintenance and Time Based Maintenance

Abstract

Dalam kegiatan kuliah kerja nyata (KKN) dalam bentuk pembelajaran pemberdayaan masyarakat (PPM) ini, akan dilakukan pemberdayaan secara generik, yaitu dimulai dengan pola pencitraan karang taruna menjadi kelompok produktif yang berguna dalam mendukung munculnya wirausaha baru yang kreatif, peningkatan kecakapan hidup (life skill), dan pola pemasaran yang bersifat kolaboratif dengan memanfaatkan keunggulan daerah sebagai kota wisata. KKN PPM pemuda karang taruna melalui proses transfer keterampilan untuk las logam dan chrome logam untuk pengembangan wirausaha kerajinan logam sebagai komoditas khas desa sungai meranti kecamatan pinggir kabupaten bengkalis. Metode kegiatan program KKN-PPM ini adalah metode workshop dalam bentuk pelatihan dan pendampingan mahasiswa peserta KKN PPM secara intensif sampai menghasilkan produk berupa kerajinan logam souvenir dan hiasan yang menjadi komoditas produk desa sungai meranti kecamatan pinggir kabupaten bengkalis, serta membantu akses pemasaran yang bersifat kontinyu. Sekitar 60 % (12 dari 20 orang peserta ) mahasiswa mendapatkan nilai keberhasilan lebih dari 85 yang berarti telah mengusai sistem pengelasan dan chrome dengan baik secara teori maupun praktek. 40% yang lain dari peserta pelatihan dalam kondisi cukup menguasai pengelasan & chrome tersebut. Sebagian besar Para peserta pelatihan telah memiliki keterampilan untuk bisa menstranfer keterampilannya ke remaja karang taruna desa sungai meranti yang akan di jadikan pembinaannya dalam pelaksanaan KKN PPM.

Abstract

The surface shape and roughness of a product produced by machine tools such as lathe plays an important role. This is due to the surface shape and roughness of the product related to friction, wear, lubrication system and so on. The machining process will determine the surface roughness at a certain level where the surface roughness can be used as a reference for evaluation of machining products. The surface roughness of a product does not have to be of little value. One product that is required to have a low surface roughness is the shaft. In the analysis of surface roughness, the steps taken are the selection of work material and the type of chisel that is often used in production workshops in Pekanbaru. Material of the workpiece used is ST41 and S45C while the type of cutting tool used is HSS and Widia Carbide. For the next process is the process of making workpieces with lathes with variations of types of cutting tool on each material workpiece. HSS chisel and carbide with ST41 steel material with rotation variation 300 rpm, 500 rpm and 840 rpm. In this material using HSS chisel it has increased roughness from 300 rpm (3,254 μm) to 500 rpm (5,425 μm) while 840 rpm (5,212 μm) has decreased roughness. otherwise the carbide has a roughness rate of 300 rpm (4,154 μm), 500 rpm (4,035 μm) and a round of 840 rpm (2,608 μm). HSS chisel and carbide with S45C steel material with rotation variation 300 rpm, 500 rpm and 840 rpm. In this material using HSS chisel has increased roughness from 300 rpm (5,778 μm) to 500 rpm (6,563 μm) while 840 rpm (5,712 μm) decreased roughness. otherwise the carbide has a roughness rate of 300 rpm (5.050 μm), 500 rpm (4,785 μm) and 840 rpm (4,116 μm).
