Abstract

Di Provinsi Riau ada banyak perkebunan kelapa sawit yang menghasilkan pelepah sebagai limbah masih belum maksimal pemanfaatannya. Sebagian masyarakat hanya membiarkan saja hingga membusuk, sementara luas perkebunan kelapa sawit provinsi riau berdasarkan data Direktorat Jendral Perkebunan pada tahun 2017, total luas perkebunan sawit mencapai 2.776.500 Ha. Pulai merupakan pohon serbaguna, artinya hampir setiap bagian tanaman dapat dimanfaatkan, mulai dari bagian batang (kulit dan kayu), daun, akar dan getah. Kayu pulai mempunyai kelas awet V dan kelas kuat IV-V dengan berat jenis berkisar dari 0,27 – 0,49 g/cm³ dan banyak digunakan untuk pembuatan peti, korek api, hak sepatu, barang kerajinan seperti wayang golek dan topeng, cetakan beton, pensil “slate” dan bubur kertas (pulp). Metode pada pengujian nilai kalor American Society for Testing and Material (ASTM) Standar D5865-07a, Pengujian kadar abu dengan menggunakan metode Association of Official Analytical Chemist (AOAC) Official method, 2009. Alat yang digunakan adalah furnace, krus porselin dan timbangan digital, Pengujian kerapatan dilakukan setelah pellet biomassa keluar dari cetakan (initial density) dan Pengujian dilakukan menurut standar American Society of Automotive Engineers (ASAE) S269.4 DEC 96 menggunakan metode pengukuran langsung dengan alat jangka sorong (vernier caliper). Berdasarkan dari hasil beberapa pengujian yang telah dilakukan diantaranya yaitu uji nilai kalor, uji kerapatan, uji kadar abu, dan uji kadar air, sesuai pada tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu seberapa besar pengaruh variasi pencampuran pelepah kelapa sawit yang sudah ditumbuk dengan getah pada pohon pulai sebagai pellet biomassa terhadap mutu yang dihasilkan. Pengujian nilai kalor dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 5452,6 Cal/g, kerapatan dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 0,84 g/cm³, pengujiaan kadar air dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 5,74 %. Sementara pengujian kadar abu tidak memenuhi standar dimana nilai rata-rata sebesar 2,47 %.Kata Kunci: Getah pulai, nilai kalor, pelepah sawit, dan pellet biomassa.

Abstract

Biomass is the dry matter of organic material . Biomass is very important as a potential source ofenergy ( fuel ) . Very important properties of the fuel is the calorific value . Thus it is necessary forthe determination of calorific value by means of testing and then applied to the correlations existingtechnologies to be developed in further research . In this study the type of waste biomass is derivedfrom animal manure is manure , bat droppings , and goat manure . Tests performed with gaugescalorific value of biomass fuels Calorimeter . Further test results compared to the results of theestimation using correlation . Value for the test sample size of cow dung 10.90874 MJ / kg , goatdung 10.37851 MJ / kg and bat droppings of 17.09983 MJ / kg . In general, the closest correlationstudy of three kinds of sample average animal waste biomass fuel is obtained correlation Beckmanwith an average difference of 3.88 %.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendiseminasikan teknologi alat pengering buah pada kelompok usaha keripik nenas Tani Sakinah di Desa Kualu Nenas, Kecamatan Tambang, Kabupaten Kampar. Hal ini dilakukan berdasarkan analisis situasi permasalahan yang menunjukkan bahwa alat yang dimiliki anggota Kelompok Tani Sakinah tergolong cukup besar dan memerlukan ruangan yang besar tanpa dilengkapi pengaturan suhu serta pembiayaan produksi yang tinggi. Selain itu, kelompok tani ini masih mengandalkan cara tradisional dalam memasarkan produk keripik nenas yang dihasilkan. Metode pelaksanaan program dilakukan melalui metode pembelajaran terstruktur dengan beberapa tahapan yang dimulai dari proses identifikasi kebutuhan masyarakat, perancangan, pembuatan, uji operasi, pendampingan operasional, dan diseminasi teknologi tersebut kepada kelompok usaha keripik nenas “Tani Sakinah”. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan program diseminasi dapat diketahui bahwa teknologi alat pengering buah pada kelompok usaha keripik nenas Tani Sakinah di Desa Kualu Nenas dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menggantikan alat produksi tradisional yang sebelumnya mereka miliki. Produk teknologi alat pengering buah yang diseminasikan ini memiliki sistem kerja yang lebih fleksibel, hemat listrik dan gas, serta tanpa menggunakan minyak goreng. Artinya, dengan menggunakan teknologi alat pengering buah ini dapat menekan biaya produksi, dan menghasilkan keuntungan yang lebih besar. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa program diseminasi teknologi alat pengering buah pada kelompok usaha keripik nenas Tani Sakinah di Desa Kualu Nenas, Kecamatan Tambang, Kabupaten Kampar, Riau dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memudahkan proses produksi keripik nenas serta mampu menekan biaya produksi.

Abstract

The community in Patin Village smokes fish in the traditional way, namely first, the fish to be smoked first, the fish are cleaned, the second the fish is split on the back to clean from dirt, the three fish that have been split will be arranged in the provided place, then fish will be put in the smoking place. Fish smoking device using closed circulation and temperature monitoring system that has been made. The purpose of the study was to compare the time efficiency of the smoked smoked smoked fish in the traditional way and to know the comparison of the smoking process of smoked smoked fish using coconut fiber and tangkos fuel. The results of the tests that have been carried out can be seen the lowest temperature when taking data 1⁄2 hours once produces 50°C and the highest temperature reaches 110°C. The temperature in the smoking room can be seen and monitored by a digital-based temperature controller with the results of testing the water content in the fish not too far away, the highest water content is 50% using Tangkos fuel, the room temperature at the time of testing is the highest at the time of taking with the highest is 110 oC using tangkos fuel and the difference in the consumption of tangkos fuel and coconut fiber has a difference in smoking, one of which is when testing the highest tangkos fuel it spends as much as 25.71 kg, coconut fiber spends the highest 19.42 kg with fish that different.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mendiseminasikan teknologi dehydrator betel nutmachine berbahan bakar biomassa kepada kelompok tani pinang di Desa Tanjung Alai,Kecamatan XIII Koto Kampar, Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi Riau. Kegiatan pengabdian inidilaksanakan dengan melibatkan 2 kelompok tani buah pinang yang ada di Desa Tanjung Alai,Kecamatan XIII Koto Kampar yaitu kelompok tani buah pinang Maju Jaya dan BerkahBersama. Permasalahan mendasar yang dihadapi kelompok tani ini adalah lambatnya prosespengeringan buah pinang yang sudah di panen. Berdasarkan data yang di himpun, lamapengeringan buah pinang berkisar 2 hingga 4 hari. Kondisi ini berdampak terhadap perolehanpandapatan petani pinang. Oleh karenanya, tim pengabdi memberikan solusi berupa produkteknologi hasil penelitian yang mampu mengeringkan buah pinang dalam waktu 20 menit yangdi beri nama dehydrator betel nut machine. Pada implementasi pengabdian, kedua kelompoktani ini diarahkan, di bimbing dan diawasi dalam pengoperasian alat hingga kedua kelompoktani bisa mandiri dalam penggunaan alat teknologi. Proses pendampingan dilangsungkanselama beberapa hari hingga kedua kelompok tani buah pinang di rasa mampu mengoperasikanalat teknologi. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan metode pembelajaran terstruktur denganbeberapa tahapan. Tahapan-tahapannya tersebut di mulai dari proses identifikasi kebutuhanmasyarakat, perancangan, pembuatan, uji operasi, pendampingan operasional, dan diseminasialat teknologi tersebut kepada kelompok tani buah pinang Maju Jaya dan Berkah Bersama.Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa kelompok tani buah pinang secarabertahap sudah mampu mengoperasikan alat dehydrator betel nut machine. Kemudiankelompok tani mengakui jika alat dehydrator betel nut machine mampu mengeringkan buahpinang dalam waktu 15 menit hingga 20 menit.

Abstract

Composite is a combination of two or more materials that have different phases into a new material and has better properties than both. Composite is an alternative material to replace metal, this is due to the properties of fiber composites which are strong and have a lighter weight than metal (Fahmi, 2011). Composite characteristics are strongly influenced by their constituents, their distribution, and their interactions. More specifically, it is also influenced by the geometry of the reinforcement, where the geometry is the shape, size and size distribution. All of these things were then developed to increase its mechanical characteristics such as strength, rigidity, toughness, performance against heat and others (Sirait, 2010).The manufacture of the Cesna-172 aircraft body uses composite materials with fiber glass. Thus, in each process of making the cesna-172 aircraft body, there are several stages for the manufacture of the aircraft body.

Abstract

The Berkah Basamo Rubber Farmers Group Association (Gapoktan) in Lubuk Terantang Village already has two rubber downstream product development workshops. The Kuantan Singingi Rubber Farmers Association (APKARKUSI) has facilitated the two buildings with several equipment to support downstream rubber production, including hot press machines, molding, compressors, creeper machines, tire retreading machines, and buffing machines. Apart from that, APKARKUSI has also facilitated several people from the Lubuk Terantang Village Youth Organization to be given training in making downstream rubber products at the Industrial Research and Standardization Center (Baristand), Palembang. The problem currently faced by target partners is that the production equipment is less functional, so farmers cannot produce downstream rubber with higher economic value. Apart from that, target partners also still need more intensive assistance and training, both in the production process and marketing their products. The solutions offered in this kosabangsa program are improving the institutional structure of target partners, improving businesses initiated by partners, improving partner income and welfare

Abstract

Heavy equipment in particular is one of the supporting tools for mining or industry which is very important in the production process. During the excavation process, the Rear attachment, especially the actuator, namely the hydraulic cylinder, works continuously during the process. This will of course cause problems that cannot be avoided. However, problems that occur can be minimized with preventive measures and maintenance. It is hoped that the existence of preventive and maintenance steps will make it easier for mechanics to carry out preventive and maintenance steps on hydraulic cylinder components. The main method used in this report is comprehension. The data obtained is taken from an understanding that refers to the problem. Second, the observation method. This method is taken when carrying out work practices. The final method is interviews, by asking questions about problems that often occur to employees who are experienced in their field. Common problems in hydraulic cylinders such as leaks and contamination can be minimized with preventive and maintenance measures, starting from choosing the right oil, preventive maintenance, and operating the unit correctly. If preventive and maintenance steps are carried out properly, repairs to components will of course be easier.

Abstract

Tractor is a tool that is often used in the process of agricultural land processing, a vehicle specially designed to handle heavy pulls at low speeds, or to pull special implements needed in agricultural activities. The use of tractors on a large enough land must of course carry out routine maintenance, especially on engines which have a limited operating time, within a certain limit it is necessary to check the components after reaching the maximum time limit. This analysis was carried out during November 2023 - February 2024. Secondary data collection was carried out by making direct observations on the Newholland T7.150 Tractor unit during the design and operation of the unit. Identification is carried out while the unit is operating, this aims to determine the effectiveness of the engine on the tractor, the occurrence of high blow-by engines and the factors that cause them. The blow-by pressure test results showed that the blow-by pressure in the engine was at a level far exceeding the maximum limit of 20.42 cm H2O (8.047 In H2O), indicating a serious problem with the sealing between the piston and cylinder. When the compression test was carried out, normal compression results were found, indicating that the compression pressure in the engine was stable at a level in line with normal standards, also indicating that the components in the combustion system were functioning properly. From the analysis, phenomena related to high blow-by caused by improper ring gap and valve seal leakage in the engine were investigated. The analysis shows that the out-of-specification ring gap and leakage at the valve seal can result in uncontrolled leakage of fuel and combustion gases into the engine crankcase.

Abstract

Rumbai Nature School is located on Jl Budi Sari, Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City. Rumbai Nature School is located in the same area as the Muhammadiyah University of Riau, namely in Pekanbaru City. The IOT technology-based medicinal plant planting program is one form of learning resource that can be used as a means for children to learn about various types of medicinal plants. Medicinal plants or what are known as biopharmaceuticals are types of plants that have medicinal functions and properties and are used to cure or prevent various diseases. The method used in this service is designed so that activities can be carried out properly in order to optimize the IOT technology-based medicinal plant greenhouse at Rumbai Nature School. This service program is dedicated to providing educational guidance to improve students' knowledge about plants that have medicinal properties, both in terms of complaints about medicinal plants and regarding the use of medicinal plants. The presence of this service activity increases the awareness of school residents about how to utilize medicinal plants and utilize IoT technology to see the development and growth of ideal medicinal plants. Therefore, training is needed to introduce the use of medicinal plants and IoT technology
