Abstract

The rapid development of digital media has significantly reshaped the landscape of Islamic da’wah, leading to a redefinition of piety and religious expressions within contemporary Muslim societies. This research explores how mediatization and branding strategies reframe Islamic da’wah through the production of digital content on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Spotify. The study aims to critically analyze how elements of media logic speed, aesthetics, emotionality, and interactivity influence the presentation and perception of piety in the digital public sphere. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with an exploratory content analysis approach. Results reveal that piety is not merely internalized but also constructed, commodified, and algorithmically mediated through strategic branding techniques, such as visual identity formation, emotional storytelling, positioning, and audience loyalty cultivation. While digital media expands the reach of da’wah, it also risks reducing spiritual values into performative symbols shaped by market attention and algorithmic virality. This study underscores the need for critical awareness of mediatization effects and offers new insights into how Islamic da’wah must adapt without losing its transformative spiritual essence in an era of digital hyperconnectivity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of reputation, predictability, and risk on user trust in telemedicine consultation services. User trust is a crucial factor in the adoption and sustainability of telemedicine services. This research uses Perceived Risk Theory to explore the effects of risk on user perceptions and examines how reputation and predictability influence trust. The method employed is a quantitative survey with questionnaires distributed to telemedicine service users between January 16 and February 16, 2023. The unit of analysis in this study is users who have utilized telemedicine services, especially in health consultation, at least once. The findings reveal that the combined contribution of the three variables (reputation, predictability, and risk) to user trust is 25.7%, as indicated by the coefficient of determination (R²). This means that 74.3% of user trust is influenced by factors outside of reputation, predictability, and risk, such as service quality, user experience, and direct interaction with service providers. This research provides insights that while these three variables have a significant impact, other factors also play a crucial role in building user trust in telemedicine consultation services.

Abstract

The growth of the creative industry in Indonesia has encouraged the development of various local fashion brands. However, many local fashion businesses still face challenges in building strong brand awareness among consumers. Sakinah Moeslim Bridal & Boutique Pekanbaru is a local fashion brand that incorporates Malay cultural elements such as songket weaving, embroidery, and traditional motifs into its product designs. Despite having unique cultural characteristics, public recognition of the brand remains relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the marketing communication strategies implemented by Sakinah Moeslim Bridal & Boutique in building brand awareness of its local fashion products. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) theory from Belch and Belch as the analytical framework. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving two key informants from the company and four additional informants from the community. The results show that several marketing communication strategies are implemented to increase brand awareness. These include direct marketing through personal communication with consumers via WhatsApp, internet marketing through social media such as Instagram and websites, sales promotion through participation in regional and national fashion events or exhibitions, and publicity through media coverage. The integration of these strategies helps increase brand visibility and strengthen public recognition of the brand.

Abstract

This study examines consumer trust preferences in Pekanbaru when choosing dining places, comparing the influence of reviews from food vloggers and electronic Word of Mouth (e-WoM). The study employs Consumer Behavior Theory as the theoretical framework and a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze data obtained from interviews with 20 informants. The results show that consumer trust preferences are influenced by a combination of both sources of information. Most consumers use food vlogger reviews to get an initial impression and then verify this information by reading e-WoM from other consumers. This research has implications for culinary MSMEs in Pekanbaru to utilize food vlogger reviews and e-WoM as effective marketing strategies. Transparency, honesty, and consistency in reviews are key factors in building consumer trust. Social interactions on social media significantly influence consumer purchasing decisions, especially in the culinary MSME sector. Therefore, MSMEs need to leverage these interactions to build and maintain consumer trust through word of mouth.
