Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of students' difficulties in learning mathematics on the KPK and FPB materials and in order to describe the efforts that teachers can make in overcoming the difficulties in learning mathematics on the KPK and FPB materials. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. This research was conducted on fourth grade students of SD Negeri 48 Pekanbaru by taking the subjects in this study, namely high subjects, medium subjects and low subjects. Collecting research data through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study revealed that subjects with high abilities did not experience difficulties because they were able to learn concepts, principles and verbal problems while subjects with moderate and low abilities seemed to still have difficulty learning verbal concepts, principles and problems. Then the results of the study showed that overall teachers had made two efforts to overcome learning difficulties in fourth grade students of SD Negeri 48 Pekanbaru. This is shown by 1) the teacher develops good study attitudes and habits, 2) the teacher provides learning motivation.

Abstract

This researcher aims to describe how thematic learning planning, tthematic learning implementation, and thematic learning assessment at SDN 141 Pekanbaru. This researcher uses a case study approach. The subjects of this study were class teachers, principals, and students. The technique used by researchrs to collect data is to use the techniques of observation, interview, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reducation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The technique of checking the validity of the data uses triangulation. And the results of the researchers showed that the teacher in preparing the lesson plans used steps such as choosing a theme, mapping the besics, reviewing the theacher’s book, reviewing the syllabus, then compiling the lesson plan. In the omplementation the teacher assesses three attitudes, namely arritudinal competence knowledge, and skilis.

Abstract

This development research aims to develop E-Module teaching materials that are suitable for use in learning mathematics on equivalent fractions. This development research uses the ADDIE research method. This research is focused on three stages. Analysis Phase (1), which includes an analysis phase consisting of analysis of teacher and student needs, curriculum analysis and analysis of learning materials, Design Phase (2) the design phase of designing lesson plans, designing conventional modules in word, converting conventional modules into PDF, and changing the PDF module into an E-Module form, as well as the Development stage (3) which includes the validation and revision stages of the product. The subjects in this study were 2 material experts, 2 linguists, and 2 design experts. The instrument used is a validation sheet and the data analysis techniques used are quantitative and qualitative. The results obtained from the development of the E-Module based on the inquiry method on grade IV elementary school fraction materials that are suitable for use based on the assessment of material experts 91% with very feasible criteria, linguists 87.77% with very feasible criteria, design experts 96.3% with very decent criteria. The average percentage of validation results is 91.69% with very feasible criteria without revision.

Abstract

Readiness to learn will affect the learning outcomes obtained by students. But the fact is that not all grade IV learning outcomes at SDN 013 Sukamaju, Singingi Hilir District, who have good learning readiness, finally get good Mathematics learning outcomes. So that it raises the question of whether there is a significant relationship between learning readiness and learning outcomes for fourth grade Mathematics at SDN 013 Sukamaju, Singingi Hilir District. This study aims to determine whether or not there is a significant relationship between learning readiness and mathematics learning outcomes for grade IV SDN 013 Sukamaju, Singingi Hilir District. This research is a descriptive quantitative research. The data collection technique used was in the form of a questionnaire/questionnaire given by 56 respondents containing statements or questions to be answered by students whose contents were students' readiness to learn Mathematics for grade IV SDN 013 Sukamaju, Singingi Hilir District and documentation of learning outcomes. Determination of the sample in this study using a saturated sample technique because all members of the population are used as samples in this study. Data analysis was carried out using the help of computer calculations with SPSS version 24 for windows. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between learning readiness and mathematics learning outcomes for Grade IV SDN 013 Sukamaju, Singingi Hilir District. In addition, the development of readiness is the most influential indicator of learning outcomes.

Abstract

This activity is motivated by the lack of understanding and ability of elementary school teachers in the preparation of scientific articles. Many teachers are still reluctant to publish research results on the grounds that they do not understand the guidelines for preparing scientific articles. This is what underlies the need to carry out this service activity with the aim of helping elementary school teachers in compiling scientific articles so that later teachers can publish articles that have been made in journals or mass media. Community service activities were carried out in January 2020 at the SDN 193 Pekanbaru teacher council room. The method used is divided into two stages, namely the delivery of material and assistance for teachers who want to compile scientific articles according to their reports. With this service activity, it can provide new concepts of knowledge for teachers so that they can compile scientific articles, especially from the results of research that has been done.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the role of parents in students' learning motivation in grade IV SD Negeri 004 Pelalawan and to find out whether parents' barriers to student motivation in grade IV SD Negeri 004 Pelalawan. This type of qualitative research uses data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The technique of checking the validity of the data in the study was carried out by triangulation of techniques, sources, and time. The source of this research is the parents of fourth grade students at SD Negeri 004 Pelalawan. The results of this study indicate that parents play a role in motivating students' learning in class IV SD Negeri 004 Pelalawan with all the difficulties that do not prevent parents from giving the best for their children, including parents play a role in students as educators, motivators, facilitators and mentors. The obstacles that researchers can encounter in the field are limitations on the lack of knowledge from parents and the difficulty of the parents' economy to meet all student learning facilities.

Abstract

Strategi guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi siswa sangat diperlukan saat pembelajaran. Motivasi yang diberikan oleh guru akan membuatnya selalu bersemangat dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi guru kelas dan kendala guru kelas dalam memotivasi belajar pada siswa. Metode penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan model penelitian lapangan. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini ialah guru telah memiliki strategi dalam memotivasi belajar siswa berupa penjelasan pencapaian tujuan, pembangkitan terhadap minat, menciptakan suasana senang dalam belajar, menggunakan penyajian metode yang menarik, memberikan pujian atas keberhasilan memberikan nilai tambahan selama proses pembelajaran. Adapun kendalanya ialah masih ada siswa yang malas belajar, membuat ribut di dalam kelas dan tidak mendengarkan guru berbicara, takut untuk mengeluarkan pendapat, tidak semua siswa suka dengan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan guru, malas menulis dan tidak mau mengikuti peraturan dikarenakan beberapa perbedaan karakter para siswa tersebut. Saran atau rekomdendasi penelitian ialah bagi guru agar selalu merubah metode atau strategi pembelajarannya dalam memotivasi siswa dilihat dari kondisi dan keadaan ketika belajar.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pemahaman dan kemampuan guru dalam membuat perangkat pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Kegiatan pengabdian bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan pembuatan perangkat pembelajaran bagi guru sekolah dasar desa empat balai. Metode yang digunakan berupa presentasi, diskusi, evaluasi dan tindak lanjut. Langkah kegiatan meliputi tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan dapat membantu menambah pengetahuan, pemahaman dan kemampuan guru dalam membuat perangkat pembelajaran, terutama silabus dan RPP.

Abstract

The problem in this study is a factor in students' learning difficulties in learning mathematics at class IV of State Elementary School (SDN) 42 Pekanbaru. The article was to describe how the factors of student learning difficulties in learning mathematics and to describe the efforts of teachers to face difficulties in learning mathematics in the classroom. This study used qualitative research with descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study consisted of 1 teacher and 7 students of the fourth grade at SDN 42 Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation and documentation. This research also used two triangulations, namely technical triangulation and source triangulation. The place of this research was conducted at class IV SDN 42 Pekanbaru, which is located at Adi Sucipto Sidomulyo Timur Street, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The results showed that the learning difficulty factor for students was an internal factor which was a factor originating from the student itself, stating that the factors that influenced students such as; lack of interest in learning, lack of motivation to learn, lack of self-confidence, lack of concentration while studying, lack of self-awareness of students and lack of understanding of student learning. They have difficulty in learning mathematics. The efforts to overcome these learning difficulties gave an apperception at the beginning of learning, using and explaining the material in a fun way, providing enrichment and self-evaluation of individuals, making improvements and assessing the results of learning tests by giving praise and rewards to students who are able to follow the learning process well. After that, the teacher must close the lesson so that students feel more cared for, because they already feel tired of learning, such as inviting singing and playing. Abstract

This study aims to examine improving students' mathematical understanding through Think Talk Write learning strategy. The method is a quasi-experiment with experimental class research design and the pretest-posttest control class. The experimental class implemented the Think Talk Write learning strategy and the control class by direct learning model. The population of this study is a fourth-grader of one elementary school in Bandung. The sample in this research is 50 students, two classes. The instrument used in data collection is a test of the mathematical understanding ability of the description form. The result data were N-gain score analyzed by using independent-test t-test and Mann-Whitney test. From this research, I obtained the conclusion, improving students’ mathematical understanding ability who get learning with Think Talk Write strategy is better than students who gain learning by direct learning.
