Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of physics laboratory design in supporting the development of student creativity and character and identifying needs for improvement in the practicum context. Using a case study approach, the qualitative research method involved in-depth interviews and questionnaires with 100 Physics Education Study Programme students at Lambung Mangkurat University. The results showed that although the pre-lab activities and practicum guides received positive ratings, there were significant challenges in the relevance of the practicum to everyday life, practicum design that supports collaboration, and the development of creativity. Students felt the lab time and guidelines did not support creative and collaborative problem-solving. These findings indicate the need for a more open, problem-based laboratory design and better integration between technical aspects, creativity, and character education. This study recommends the development of laboratory modules that support problem-solving and collaborative approaches to improve students' skills holistically.

Abstract

The ability of prospective science and technology teachers to engage in Self-Directed Learning (S-DL) is essential for their professional growth in an evolving educational landscape. However, existing instruments to assess S-DL readiness often lack comprehensive validation. This study aims to develop and validate an instrument to measure S-DL readiness among prospective science and technology teachers. The research followed a structured process, including instrument design, expert validation, pilot testing, and psychometric evaluation. A sample of 100 students participated in the validation process, ensuring the instrument's reliability and validity. Content validation was conducted with expert judgment, while statistical analyses, including factor analysis, were used to assess construct validity. The final instrument consists of 42 items, demonstrating strong validity and reliability. These findings confirm that the developed S-DL instrument is an effective tool for measuring students' readiness for self-directed learning. The results provide valuable insights for improving teacher education programs by integrating self-directed learning strategies and supporting further research in this field.

Abstract

Misconceptions in physics, particularly in topics like momentum and impulse, pose significant barriers to meaningful learning, as students often rely on everyday experiences that contradict scientific principles. Addressing these misconceptions is crucial for improving students’ understanding and application of physics concepts in real-world contexts. This study examines the effectiveness of the Technology-Integrated Modification, Observation, Reflection, and Evaluation (T-MORE) model in addressing misconceptions about momentum and impulse through a convergent parallel mixed-methods design. A total of 22 first-semester undergraduate students participated in this study, receiving instruction incorporating videos, PhET simulations, and AI-assisted reflection tools. Conceptual understanding was measured using the Four-Tier Momentum and Impulse Misconception Diagnostic Test (FT-MIMDT). The McNemar test confirmed a statistically significant improvement, while the Reduction of Misconception Quantity (RMQ) indicated a high reduction in misconceptions. Qualitative analysis revealed changes in students’ misconceptions regarding momentum conservation and impulse-momentum relationships after instruction. These findings confirm the effectiveness of T-MORE in improving conceptual understanding and reducing misconceptions in momentum and impulse. The implementation of T-MORE can be further optimized by incorporating collaborative discussion sessions and adaptive formative assessments to ensure that all students can reconstruct their understanding more comprehensively.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an e-book for physics teachers based on multimode representation and Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK)Thus, it was expected to improve pedagogical, professional, and ICT literacy competencies have been carried out. This research employed Educational Research and Development (R&D) by Borg and Gall, but the steps were limited only to the initial product revision. The instrument used was a questionnaire to evaluate the quality and understanding of the e-book. This study involved five expert validators in pedagogy, IT, and physics content. After the e-book draft was validated and revised, it was tested on a limited basis to 16 in-service physics teachers and eight pre-service teachers. The development eligibility of the e-book for physics teachers was seen from the results of the quality and readability tests of the content. The results of the expert validation regarding the quality of the developed e-book are in the excellent category with an average percentage of 88%. The test results show that the average percentage of physics teachers’ e-book understanding is 80.3%. The test results conclude that the multimode and TPACK-based e-books developed for high school physics teachers are feasible to apply. However, it should be tested more extensively before being used further in the learning process.

Abstract

The training program to improve teacher competency in Teaching Factory (TEFA) and writing scientific papers is a strategic effort to encourage the improvement of the quality of education at SMKN 4 Sukabumi. This training was carried out because of a lack of understanding of vocational school teachers about implementing TEFA. This activity is designed to equip teachers with in-depth knowledge and practical skills to apply the TEFA concept based on the needs and work culture of the industry. The training is also focused on improving teachers' ability to write scientific papers as part of professional development and contributing to strengthening the academic literacy culture in schools by using training methods with an adult education approach. This training enabled teachers to develop applicable and contextual learning plans aligned with the evolving demands of the workforce. The results showed a significant improvement in understanding TEFA concepts and scientific writing skills. The impact is not only seen in the quality of the learning process, but also in the closer connection between schools and industry, as well as increasing teacher motivation to continue to innovate in daily teaching practices to create competent and work-ready graduates.   Abstrak Pelatihan peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam pembelajaran Teaching Factory (TEFA) dan penulisan karya ilmiah merupakan upaya strategis dalam mendorong peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di SMKN 4 Sukabumi. Pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan alasan masih rendahnya pemahaman guru SMK tentang penerapan TEFA di sekolah. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk membekali para guru dengan pemahaman mendalam serta keterampilan praktis dalam menerapkan konsep TEFA yang berbasis pada kebutuhan dan budaya kerja industri. Pelatihan juga difokuskan pada peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam menulis karya ilmiah sebagai bagian dari pengembangan profesional dan kontribusi terhadap penguatan budaya literasi akademik di sekolah dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan dengan pendekatan pendidikan orang dewasa. Melalui pelatihan ini, guru diharapkan mampu menyusun rancangan pembelajaran yang aplikatif, kontekstual, serta selaras dengan tuntutan dunia kerja yang terus berkembang. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman konsep TEFA dan kemampuan menulis ilmiah. Dampaknya tidak hanya terlihat pada kualitas proses pembelajaran, tetapi juga pada keterhubungan yang lebih erat antara sekolah dan dunia usaha/industri, serta meningkatnya motivasi guru untuk terus berinovasi dalam praktik mengajar sehari-hari demi menciptakan lulusan yang kompeten dan siap kerja. Abstract

Salah satu bidang ilmu yang mempunyai orientasi pada wirausaha dan industri kecil (home industry) bagi masyarakat usaha adalah teknik pelapisan logam dekoratif atau disebut pernekel. Proses pelapisan logam dekoratif dengan menggunakan arus listrik searah atau yang lebih dikenal di lingkungan masyarakat dengan istilah elektroplating mempunyai peranan penting dalam industri baik industri yang berskala besar maupun industri yang berskala kecil. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat wirausaha teknik pelapisan pada masyarakat di perkotaan melalui model simulasi wirausaha dengan jumlah peserta 15 orang. Kegiatan dimulai dari penyusunan instrumen, pelaksanaan pre-test minat wirausaha, dilanjutkan dengan pemberian materi pelatihan dan simulasi wirausaha, dan diakhiri dengan pelaksanaan post-test. Materi instrumen mencakup semua indikator minat dan motivasi wirausaha. Jumlah pertanyaan masing-masing sebanyak 34 dan 36 butir soal. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil pre-test terhadap para peserta pelatihan adalah 62,8. Kemudian hasil post-test terhadap para peserta adalah 112,86. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa model simulasi wirausaha yang diterapkan melalui pelatihan dapat meningkatkan minat wirausaha.

Abstract

Water is the source of life for living things, especially humans. Humans cannot live without water. Parakan Wayang Hamlet, Sirnajaya Village, Gunung Halu Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency, is one area with difficulty getting clean water. Based on a survey, the area's economic, geographical, and remote aspects make it difficult for residents of the hamlet to get clean water. The hamlet's residents use the mountain valley river water for survival. They walk down the mountain carrying jerry cans to meet their daily clean water needs. River water that continues to flow in the area can potentially be used for energy. Based on these conditions, this community service program aims to design a hydraulic ram pump system to pump water from the river to residential areas at a height of 100 meters using two reservoirs installed every 50 meters. This system utilizes the potential energy of water that continues to flow to pump and distribute it to residents. This water pump system is expected to fulfill the need for clean water.   Abstrak Air sebagai sumber bagi kehidupan bagi makhluk hidup khususnya manusia. Manusia tidak dapat hidup tanpa air. Dusun Parakan Wayang Desa Sirnajaya Kecamatan Gunung Halu Kabupaten Bandung Barat merupakan salah satu daerah yang mengalami kesulitan mendapatkan air bersih. Berdasarkan survey yang dilakukan, aspek ekonomi, geografis, dan terpencilnya daerah tersebut membuat warga dusun sulit mendapatkan air bersih. Pemanfaatan air sungai yang berada di lembah gunung oleh warga dusun digunakan untuk bertahan hidup, mereka berjalan menuruni dan menaiki gunung dengan membawa jerigen untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih setiap harinya. Air sungai yang terus mengalir di daerah tersebut dapat berpotensial untuk dapat digunakan energinya. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengadakan rancang bangun sistem hydraulic ram pump untuk memompa air dari sungai ke pemukiman warga dengan ketinggian 100 meter dengan menggunakan dua bak penampungan yang dipasang pada setiap 50 meter. Sistem ini menggunakan sistem pemanfaatan energi potensial air yang terus mengalir untuk memompa dan menyalurkan ke warga. Sistem pompa air ini diharapkan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih. Abstract

The global economic development framework has shifted towards Economic Sustainable Development (ESD) by promoting the use of new and renewable energy sources that are environmentally friendly. On the other hand, the lack of energy and environmental literacy among the public, including educators and students, has led to inefficient energy consumption and further environmental degradation. Thus, improving public literacy on energy and the environment is essential. The education sector, including higher education, plays a vital and strategic role in enhancing energy and environmental literacy. However, current curricula still lack sufficient content oriented toward improving this literacy. One effort that higher education institutions can undertake is to prepare prospective teachers with strong energy literacy and improve in-service teachers' energy literacy. Through this activity, teachers were provided training to enhance their energy and environmental literacy and to integrate this content into their teaching. The training was conducted offline at SMKN 1 Pangandaran and attended by 50 science and vocational subject teachers. Four speakers delivered materials on energy literacy and its application in accordance with each teacher’s area of expertise. As a result of the training, 70.1 percent of the teachers could integrate energy literacy into their lesson plans.   Abstrak Framework pembangunan ekonomi dunia sudah berubah menjadi berbasis ESD (economic sustainable development) melalui pemilihan sumber energi baru dan terbarukan yang tidak merusak lingkungan. Disisi lain, kurangnya literasi energi dan lingkungan masyarakat termasuk para pendidik dan pelajar menyebabkan konsumsi energi yang tidak efisien dan kerusakan lingkungan. Untuk itu peningkatan literasi energi dan lingkungan masyarakat sangat penting dilakukan. Dunia pendidikan, termasuk pendidikan tinggi berperan penting dan strategis dalam meningkatkan literasi energi dan lingkungan masyarakat. Namun kurikulum yang berjalan masih minim memuat pembelajaran yang berorientasi peningkatan literasi energi dan lingkungan. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan oleh perguruan tinggi adalah menyiapkan calon guru yang memiliki literasi energi dan meningkatkan literasi energi para guru dalam jabatan. Melalui kegiatan ini dilakukan pelatihan kepada guru agar memiliki literasi energi dan lingkungan yang lebih baik serta dapat mengintegrasikan konten literasi energi dan lingkungan ke dalam pembelajaran. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan secara luring di SMKN 1 Pangandaran yang dihadiri oleh 50 guru IPAS dan Produktif. Terdapat 4 narasumber yang memberikan materi terkait literasi energi hingga penerapan literasi energi sesuai bidang keahlian yang diampu oleh masing-masing guru. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini, guru mampu mengintegrasikan literasi energinya kedalam rancangan pembelajaran yang dipresentasikan sebesar 70,1 persen. Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the trend data of research related to learning media. The research method used is the Systematic Literature Network Analysis (SLNA) method. The data for this study consists of research articles on learning media without any time limitations. Articles were collected from the Scopus database, which includes IEEE, Springer, and the search application Publish or Perish (PoP). In the search engine, articles on learning media were first found in 2002, and a total of 1708 articles were retrieved. After filtering by title, 120 articles were obtained, and based on the keywords from these articles, 80 eligible articles were identified for analysis. The analysis results show that the number of studies and research citations fluctuate. Topics frequently discussed in the context of learning media include skills, approaches, and the latest on interactive multimedia. For further research directions, it can be associated with the use of interactive multimedia in explaining science learning that uses a phenomenon-based learning model. This is because science learning can explain phenomena that occur in everyday life
