Abstract

The increasing demand for vegetables is not matched by the expansion of agricultural land, hydroponic farming systems is a perfect solution to solve this problem. Using Gandasil D fertilizer can help plants to imporve the quality of production, especially in the leaf part. This research aims to determine the response of red amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor L.) to the different concentrations of Gandasil D fertilizer and wick types in hydroponic system using the wick system method. The experimental design used in this study was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was the concentration of Gandasil D fertilizer, there were four levels of concentration: 0 g/L, 2 g/L, 3 g/L, and 4 g/L. The second factors was the type of wick, which consisted of three levels: stove wick, flannel wick, and wool wick. The results is Gandasil D fertilizer at 2 g/L significantly increased plant height at 21 and 28 Days After Sowing (DAS), measuring (12,94 cm) and (18,53 cm). The application of Gandasil D fertilzer at 4 g/L produced the highest results for fresh and dry weight at (13,80 grams) and (9,58 grams).

Abstract

Cayenne pepper is currently a prima donna agricultural commodity. The price of cayenne pepper in the market ranges from 120,000 to 145,000 rupiah. The fluctuatife price of chilli is due to unbalanced demand with supply. In other words the amount of supply of cayenne pepper on the market is drastically reduced. Cayenne pepper is one of the spices that the level of demand in the market high because almost all dishes using this spice. This is due to the impact of the prolonged rainy season. Many farmers have failed to harvest cayenne pepper because the plants rot. The skyrocketing price of this spice happen to housewives in urban areas such as the Ciceri Permai Complex of Serang City. Solutions to overcome the high price of chili can be done with wolkaponik on the scale of the household. Wolkaponic is a modification between wallgardening and aquaponic technology. With its minimalist design, wolkaponic does not require a large area of land. Planting vegetables is done vertically and part at the bottom there is a fish pond (Savitri, 2014) .Wolkavonik is a multilevel cultivation way that consists of plants and fish ponds, so that the fish poop water can be utilized as fertilizer plants. Wolkaponik somewhat different from hydroponics . In the hydroponic system the main medium is water with added liquid nutrients. Nutrition commonly used is Abemix. Abemix must be obtained by buying in farm shops. Without these additional nutrients the hydroponic plants will not grow optimally. Wolkaponic systems are simpler to apply because nutrient sources do not necessarily have to buy. Sources of nutrients are available directly from the waste of fish that is fed to the plant media. In the medium wokaponic system is a mixture of zeolite and compost.The wolkaponic system is best suited to yard or urban housing land. This system can save space because it is designed in storied. Chili is grown in polybags or in pots without the need for soil. By applying this system, urban residents can still conduct agricultural cultivation or referred to as "urban farming". In addition to overcoming the high price of chili this system also has many other benefits. These benefits, among others, can improve the greening of the environment to beautify the landscape. In addition, wolkaponik also can clean the air because it donates oxygen to the air. With this system, urban residents can also meet their own protein needs by maintaining fish in portable ponds.

Abstract

Alpukat adalah tanaman hortikultura yang bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan dan mempertahankan kesehatan tubuh manusia. Salah satu cara untuk memperbanyak tanaman baik itu secara vegetatif ataupun generatif adalah dengan pembibitan. Sambung pucuk merupakan metode perbanyakan yang sering digunakan pada pembibitan alpukat secara vegetatif. Perbandingan antara jumlah air yang tersediapada lahan dan jumlah air yang diperlukan tanaman selama masa pertumbuhan sangat penting untuk keberhasilan kegiatan pertanian. Alternatif yang dapat digunakan untuk menduga jumlah  air yang diperlukan pada tanaman dapat dilakukan dengan bantuan dari software Cropwat 8.0. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui jumlah air yang dibutuhkan pada bibit tanaman Alpukat varietas Kendil menggunakan Cropwat 8.0. Software Cropwat 8.0 memerlukan data iklim, data curah hujan, data tanah, serta data tanaman untuk mengetahui berapa banyak kebutuhan air irigasi pada tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan air irigasi untuk bibit Alpukat varietas Kendil adalah 142 ml per polybag serta total kebutuhan air irigasi pada  bibit tanaman Alpukat varietas Kendil selama satu tahun adalah 864,8 mm.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the effects of probiotic (Bacillus NP5), prebiotic (extracted from Ipomoea batatas var. sukuh,), and synbiotic on growth and digestive enzyme activity of dumbo catfish (Clarias sp.). Four treatments with 3 replications were used in the experiment, i.e; control, probiotic (1% Bacillus NP5 in feed), prebiotic (2% sweet potato extract in feed), and synbiotic (1% probiotic and 2% prebiotic in feed). After 45 days of rearing, catfish that were given probiotic, prebiotic, and synbiotic showed significantly (P<0.05) higher growth than that of the control. The average results on digestive enzyme activities in probiotic, prebiotic, and synbiotic treatments were significantly different (P<0.05) from that of the control. The addition of synbiotic to diets showed the best result on final weight, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, protein retention, protein efficiency ratio, and protease activities among other treatments. Keywords: catfish, growth, probiotic, prebiotic, symbiotic  ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh dari probiotik (Bacillus NP5), prebiotik (ekstrak ubi jalar varietas sukuh), dan sinbiotik terhadap pertumbuhan dan aktivitas enzim perncernaan ikan lele dumbo (Clarias sp.). Penelitian terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan, yakni: probiotik (Bacillus NP5 sebanyak 1% dalam pakan), prebiotik (ekstrak ubi jalar sebanyak 2% dalam pakan), dan sinbiotik (Bacillus NP5 1% + ekstrak ubi jalar sebanyak 2% dalam pakan). Setelah pemeliharaan selama 45 hari, ikan lele pada perlakuan dengan suplementasi probiotik, prebiotik, dan sinbiotik dalam pakan secara signifikan (P<0,05) menghasilkan pertumbuhan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Nilai aktivitas enzim pencernaan pada perlakuan probiotik, prebiotik, dan sinbiotik secara signifikan berbeda (P<0,05) dari kontrol. Penambahan sinbiotik pada pakan memberikan hasil terbaik pada parameter bobot akhir, laju pertumbuhan harian, FCR, retensi protein, rasio efisiensi protein, dan aktivitas enzim protease dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Kata kunci: ikan lele, pertumbuhan, probiotik, prebiotik, sinbiotik.

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) merupakan sayuran kaya nutrisi, seperti vitamin A, C, K, dan mineral penting, serta sering dikonsumsi masyarakat. Kendala kesuburan tanah sering menjadi tantangan dalam budidaya pakcoy. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan teknik budidaya yang lebih efisien dan ramah lingkungan. Penggunaan pupuk hayati, seperti bakteri fotosintetik (PSB) dapat meningkatkan kesuburan tanah tanpa mengganggu keseimbangan ekosistem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy terhadap pemberian berbagai konsentrasi dan metode aplikasi pupuk hayati bakteri fotosintetik. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial dengan dua faktor: konsentrasi pupuk hayati bakteri fotosintetik (12,5 ml/L, 15 ml/L, 17,5 ml/L, dan 20 ml/L) dan metode aplikasi (pada daun, pada akar, dan pada daun + pada akar). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi PSB 12,5 ml/L memberikan pengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman, dan nisbah pupus akar. Aplikasi PSB pada daun memberikan pengaruh terhadap bobot kering, bobot basah dan indeks kehijauan daun. Konsentrasi PSB 12,5 ml/L dan cara pada daun + pada akar menunjukkan adanya interaksi terhadap tinggi tanaman

Abstract

Irrigation is the most important part of plant cultivation to meet the water needs for plant growth and yield. However, irrigation is a common problem in dryland areas. The drip irrigation system is an alternative to solve the problem of water droplets that can improve water use efficiency. One consideration when using drip irrigation is designing the irrigation layout so that the water supply to each plant is uniform. This study evaluated two layout layouts of drip irrigation systems for pok choi plants (Brassica rapa var. chinensis L.) with different planting media. The method used a split-plot design with 2 factors. Variation of drip irrigation system (V) was the main plot which consists of 2 levels, namely variation 1 (V1) and variation 2 (V2). Media type (M) served as a subplot comprised of 3 levels, namely soil (M0), soil+charcoal husk (M1), and soil+cocopeat (M2). The feasibility of these two drip irrigation system designs included drip discharge values, water uniformity coefficient, water distribution uniformity, and storage efficiency. Based on the evaluation of the feasibility of drip irrigation system design, design 1 (V1) gave better values for the average value of drip discharge (0.16 l/minute), uniformity coefficient (99.71%), uniformity of water supply (82.11%), and storage efficiency (73.89 %). The layout of the drip irrigation had a significant effect on the height of pok choi plants on 1 and 2 WAP.
