Abstract

The research was aimed to obtain the optimum concentration of BAP to buds growth as in vitro. It was conducted in the Tissue Culture Laboratory at Forestry and gardening seedling Unit of Forestry and Gardening Office of Banten Province from April until December 2008. The research used Randomized Completely Design on MS base medium with different BAP concentration: (1) B1 = MS + Kinetin 0.1 ppm + BAP 1 ppm, (2), B2 = MS + Kinetin 0,1 ppm + BAP 2 ppm, (3) B3 = MS + Kinetin 0,1 ppm + BAP 3 ppm, (4) B4 = MS + Kinetin 0,1 ppm + BAP 4 ppm, (5) B5 = MS + Kinetin 0,1 ppm + BAP 5 ppm. Each treatment was replicated ten times. The data was analyzed and continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5 percent. The explant which grew in MS media with different BAP concentration showed radicle appearance. It tended to grow to be embryo, where it began with radicle length and was followed by bud formation. Higher BAP application for each treatment increased the germination. The best concentration of embryo germination which would be grown to be bud was 4 or 5 ppm BAP. Abstract

ABSTRACT Biodiversity of potential  soil microbes has been regarded as biological fertilizer of Zea mays in marginal land. A few microbe increased the rate of growth  of plant throught absorbtion slow released N and P in soil. The isolation, identification and population of soil microbes from rizosphere at Walantaka (Banten province) had been done in the Soil Biology Laboratories and the greenhouse, Pajajaran University- Bandung, during Mei to Agustus 2009. The soil was collected randomly from sites in Walantaka. To increase N and P using trapping and selection medium from from rizosphere at Walantaka (centre of Zea mays production), province of Banten.  The Exploration of potential microbe Isolates of Azotobacter, Azospirillum, microbes dissolver phosphate (MPF) dan Mycorrhyzae microbes were identified and were founded in soil samples. The result showed, on okon selection medium  can be found 4 Azospirillum, on Ashby medium  lived 4 Azotobacter,  and Pikovskaya medium got 2 MPF and Mycorrhyzae microbes.Key words: marginal land, Azospirillum, Azotobacter, MPF, Mycorrhyzae, Zea mays

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the potential of Pseudomonas sp. in controlling bacterial leaf blight disease (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae) in vitro. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agroecology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa on June to September 2014. This research implemented experimental one factor that arranged in Completely Randomized Design with five replications. The treatment consisted of 6 isolates of Pseudomonas sp. (Ps 6, Ps 29, Ps 39, Ps 40, Ps 45, dan Ps 46) which was screened from the rhizosphere of roots of paddy plants. The inhibition of Pseudomonas sp. bacteria isolates was tested and showed that the results were not significantly different neither it was between each isolate nor against control (without treatment bacteria). Ps 39 isolate tend to had higher clear zone compare to other isolates.

Abstract

Phosphorus in the soil is essential macronutrient for plant growth. Phosphate solubilizing bacteria are capable of managing phosphate availability in its soluble forms and are often found in the rhizosphere. This study aimed to know the level of total density and characteristics of phosphate solubilizing bacteria isolated from the rhizosphere of maize plants at three dry land locations in Banten.  The bacteria were isolated using serial plate dilution method. Results showed that four isolated phosphate solubilizing bacteria were obtained. Two isolates were obtained from Curug, one from Walantaka, and one from Petir. The total density of phosphate solubilizing bacterial colonies from those dry land locations were  1.9 x 1010 CFU/ml for Curug 1, 1.9 x 1012 CFU/ml for Curug 2, 6x1012 CFU/ml for Walantaka, and 4,8x1010 CFU/ml for Petir.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze and evaluate the system of partnership between UPTD BPTPHP Banten Province with rice seed grower farmers and measure the level of satisfaction of rice seed grower farmers in partnership with UPTD BPTPHP Banten Province on the course of the pertnership. Qualitative analysis is done through data collection methods in the form of interviews and questionnaires conducted on selected respondents with a purpossive sampling method. The result showed that the partnership system established between UPTD BPTPHP and rice seed breeding farmers in Banten Provnce was a plasma core partnership. The level of importance and satisfaction of farmers is measured using a Likert scale with four categories and is calculated using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). Conformity analysis is done by comparing the total score of performance level with the total score of importance level. The value of partner farmer’s satisfaction with partnership performance is stated in letter X, while the level of importance (expectations) of farmers is stated in letter Y. The level of satisfaction of partner farmers is measured by the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method that determines the level of overall satisfaction of partner farmers based on quality attributes measured services. Based on the analysis of Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) it is known that the average value for the level of importance is 3,42. Attributes with importance are above the average of 8 attributes that are above the average of 8 attributes. The level of satisfaction obtained an average value of 2,97 with the number of attributes that are above the average of 8 attributes. In general it is known that the farmers feel satisfied, because the CSI value obtained is 68,44.

Abstract

Peran penyuluh pertanian sebagai komunikator pertanian tercermin dari kemampuannya dalam menyampaikan dan mensosialisasikan program-program pembangunan pertanian, inovasi dan informasi pertanian terkini kepada dan dapat diterapkan oleh petani, mampu memberikan solusi atas permasalahan petani, membantu percepatan arus informasi dan membantu petani dalam proses pengambilan keputusan dalam berusaha tani (Asdar et al., 2018) sehingga dapat mendorong petani untuk lebih maju, memperluas wawasan dan berorientasi pasar yang menuntut penyuluh pertanian untuk selalu meningkatkan kemampuannya melalui penguasaan informasi dan inovasi pertanian terkini. Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) dewasa ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh penyuluh pertanian untuk memperoleh beragai macam informasi secara mudah melalui berbagai media komunikasi baik media offline maupun media online. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi petani binaan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi penyuluh pertanian sebagai komunikator pertanian dan bagaimana pengaruh karakteristik petani binaan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi penyuluh pertanian sebagai komunikator pertanian di Kabupaten Lebak. Survey dilakukan terhadap 82 orang petani yang dibina oleh 41 orang penyuluh pertanian di Kabupaten Lebak. Sample ditarik menggunakan simple random sampling. Data karakteristik petani dan persepsi petani terhadap kemampuan komunikasi penyuluh pertanian sebagai komunikator pertanian dianalisis menggunakan komposit skor dan uji chi square untuk mengetahui pengaruh karakterstik petani binaan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi penyuluh pertanian sebagai komunikator pertanian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penyuluh pertanian dinilai cukup memiliki kemampuan sebagai komunikator pertanian, terutama terkait kemampuan penyuluh pertanian dalam menyampaikan informasi dan inovasi pertanian terkini kepada petani. Sementara karakteristik petani binaan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan penyuluh pertanian sebagai komunikator pertanian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kampung Cisadap, Desa Bunter, Kecamatan Sukadana, Kabupaten Ciamis, Provinsi Jawa Barat dari Bulan Januarisampai Bulan Mei 2011 untuk mempelajari respons pertumbuhan tanaman padi yang diberi pupuk nitrogen dan Azolla michrophylla pada budidaya padi sawahSystem Of Rice Intensification . Penelitan ini menggunakan 5 dosis pupuk nitrogen (0 %, 25 %, 50 %, 75 %, 100 %) dari pupuk nitrogen yang direkomendasikan yaitu N 92 kg ha-1 (urea 200 kg ha-1), serta menggunakan Azolla michrophylla sebanyak 1,13 ton ha-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian dosis pupuk nitrogen sebanyak 50 % (100 kg ha-1) dan pemberian Azolla michrophylla sebanyak 1,13 ton ha-1 memberikan hasil yang baik pada parameter tinggi tanaman 2-6 MST, jumlah anakan 2-7 MST. Interaksi antara penggunaan dosis 50% pupuk nitrogen dan 1,13 Azolla michrophylla terjadi pada tinggi tanaman umur7 MST, dan bobot kering tanaman.

Abstract

A pot experiment has been conducted to evaluate the growth of the Dyah Suci, a lowland rice variety, in an SRI (System of Rice Intensification) planting system. The phosphorus-32 (32P) isotope technique was used to evaluate the growth of plants in relation with their phosphorus uptake. The uptake was assumed to vary in the same direction as the growth of the plant. The 32P uptake is assumed to vary in the opposite direction to the plant’s total phosphorus uptake. Here the 32P uptake is expressed in count per minutes (cpm) which is then transformed to disintegration per minute (dpm). The results show that, in terms of promoting the plant’s uptake of phosphorus, the SRI planting system is superior to the conventional planting system, and it is manifested in the higher dry weight of straw and grain. From this experiment it is concluded that the 32P method can be used satisfactorily as a tool for explaining therelation between P-uptake and plant growth.Received: 04 Juny 2013; Revised: 22 August 2013; Accepted: 30 August 2013
