Abstract

The quality of good fresh milk is determined by the components of its composition. Water and milk dry matter are important constituents of milk components. Chemical properties are one part to determine the quality of milk. The purpose of the study was to determine the value of density, solid non fat, water content, and freez point of milk at morning and afternoon milking at CV Ben Buana Sejahtera farm, Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. The research method used is descriptive quantitative calculating the mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation with milk samples from 18 dairy cows with different lactation periods. 100 ml of milk was taken from each cow at different milking times, i.e. morning and afternoon, then put in a coolbox for testing of milk components such as density, solid non fat, water content, and freez point using lactoscan at the Dairy Production Laboratory. The results showed that the average density (1.026 VS 1.025), solid non fat (7.75% VS 7.42%), water content (85.75% VS 88.67%) and freez point (-0.5110C VS -0.4430C) milk in the morning and afternoon milking resulted in a difference. The conclusion showed that the component values ​​of density, solid non fat, water content, and freez point resulted in differences in the morning and afternoon milking. The quality of these components is still in normal condition in accordance with national standards. Keywords: density, solid non fat, water content, freez point, milk

Abstract

Kambing perah adalah ternak penghasil kolostrum dan susu yang digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan anaknya. Sifat kimia penting untuk diketahui karena kandungan tersebut dapat mempengaruhi terhadap kualitas kolostrum. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas kandungan kolostrum pada kambing perah saanen dan sapera di Kabupaten Sumedang. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan di Peternakan Kambing Perah milik Bapak Hendar Kecamatan Pamulihan Kabupaten Sumedang Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian dianalisis dengan kruskall walis one way ANOVA dengan sampel ternak kambing perah saanen dan sapera. Sampel kolostrum diambil dari pemerahan pagi dan sore yaitu 100 ml kemudian dimasukkan kedalam cooling box untuk dilakukan pengujian kandungan kimia kolostrum di laboratorium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan lemak dan berat jenis kolostrum pada kambing sapera menghasilkan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kambing saanen, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata pada kandungan laktosa, protein, temperature, serta titik beku. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara kandungan lemak dan berat jenis pada kolostrum kedua jenis kambing perah, tetapi kandungan laktosa, protein, temperatur, serta titik beku relatif sama.

Abstract

Kandang merupakan tempat tinggal untuk hewan yang dapat memberikan rasa nyaman bebas dari gangguan luar. Kandang yang baik memiliki ukuran yang sesuai serta bagian-bagian dalam kandang seperti ventilasi. Apabila kandang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan dari ternak itu sendiri maka dapat menyebabkan stress sehingga akan berdampak kepada performa produksi susunya. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi ukuran-ukuran kandang kambing perah laktasi yang meliputi panjang, lebar, tinggi serta tinggi dari permukaan tanah. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan di Peternakan Kambing Perah Alam Farm Manglayang Kecamatan Cilengkrang Kabupaten Bandung Jawa Barat. Penelitian menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif . Data sampel diperoleh dari 30 kandang kambing perah yang sedang laktasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ukuran kandang kambing perah di Peternakan Kambing Perah Alam Farm menghasilkan rata-rata pada setiap kandang besar (A) 140,4 x 102 x181,5 cm, kandang (B) 121,6 x 105,5 x 170 cm, Kandang (C) 142 x101x175 cm, Kandang D 122x100x170 cm dengan rataan tinggi kandang dari permukaan tanah 73-81 cm sehingga koefisien variasi berkisar antara 0,000174-0,000467 dan masih dalam keadaan normal. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa perkandangan kambing perah laktasi yang terdapat di Peternakan kambing perah Alam Farm Manglayang masih dalam kondisi yang relatif normal dan persyaratan kandang lainnya memenuhi standar.

Abstract

The chemical components of milk greatly determine the quality of milk produced from an animal. The purpose of this study was to determine the ratio of fat, protein, lactose and pH at morning and evening milking at CV Ben Buana Sejahtera (BBS Farm) Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. The research method used was paired t test with milk samples from 18 dairy cows with different lactation periods. 100 ml of milk samples were taken from each cow with different milking times, morning and evening, then put in a coolbox to test the chemical components of milk. in the Laboratory. The results showed that the average levels of fat, protein and lactose in milk in the morning were higher (P<0.05) than in the afternoon but the pH values ​​showed the same results. The conclusion shows that the comparison of the chemical quality of cow's milk in the morning and evening milking at CV BBS Farm gives a difference in the value of fat, protein, lactose content but does not affect the pH value and the nutritional components are still in normal conditions.

Abstract

The stalls is a place to live for livestock that can provide comfort. A good stalls has a good construction or design. The purpose of this service is to provide information and apply it to students on how to design a stalls for dairy cows through the Google SketchUp application. This activity uses extension methods through online media about the design of a stalls for modern dairy cows, the construction of a stalls that includes a roof, walls and floors, and the types of dairy cowsheds. The provision of material and practice is carried out for one day outside of working hours. The number of participants who took part in this activity was 70 student participants consisting of various generations at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Padjadjaran. The results showed that there was an increase in knowledge and practice among students regarding the design of a dairy cow housing through the Google Sketchup application, namely 100%, which was previously only 30%. Students after going through a series of activities are expected to be able to increase their knowledge and apply the dairy cow housing design through the Googlesketcup application in the world of work.Keywords: training, housing design, dairy cows, googlesketchup, students

Abstract

The antibiotics as feed additive had been prohibited by the government regulation, because it was feared that it would pose a risk to livestock and residues in the products they produce. The ban is an opportunity for the development of innovations in feeding, such as the use of herbal plants as natural feed additives (NFA). The provision of NFA had been carried out by several researchers to the performance of kids and lambs. Kids and lambs are one of the key stages of successful sheep and goat farming. Kids and lambs that are healthy and have good performance will certainly be good breeds for livestock farming. Utilization of herbs and spices containing polyphenolic compounds has various effects on livestock, especially kids and lambs. The benefits or effects of NFA on kids and lambs are summarized in several studies, namely faster livestock growth, increased feed digestibility, feed efficiency, and economic efficiency. In addition, NFA also affects metabolic function and immunity, and reduces methane gas emissions without disturbing the rumen microbial population. Meat produced from kids and lambs supplemented with NFA also showed increased oxidative stability and increased PUFA and MUFA levels. Keywords: additive, herb, polyphenol, goat, lamb, kids

Abstract

Dairy cows are a type of livestock that have been developed by contributing products in the form of milk as a provider of animal protein. The more dairy cow population, the higher the milk production produced. This study aims to determine the population of dairy farming in Gemah Ripah Sukabumi KUD, West Java, and to determine the amount of milk production during the lactation period, daily milk production, and fat content. The research method used was a survey by taking primary and secondary data in 2018 and then analyzed with simple statistics to determine the mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of diversity. The results showed that the population of dairy cows was widespread in the Sukabumi area.  Namely in the Barokah group in the Sukalarang sub-district, the Cikole group in the Sukaraja sub-district, the Cintaresmi group in the Sukalarang sub-district, the Priangan group in the Sukalarang sub-district, the rukun tani II in the sub-district of Sukalarang, the rukun tani III in Sukalja, sulanjana I in Sukalarang sub-district. Sukalarang sub-district, sulanjana II sub-group sukalarang sub-district, sukalarang talisaid sub-district, Darma Sancang group, Sukaraja group consisting of calves, young dairy cows, dairy cows, and bulls with average total milk production (362.7) 3627 liters/lactation, average the amount of daily milk production is 10.8 liters/head/day. The average fat content is 3.44%. The conclusion showed that the population of dairy cows that was in Gemah Ripah Cooperative Sukabumi District has a total of 776 heads.  Consisting of calves, heifers, cow lactation, and males as well as having an average total milk production during the lactation period with 105 heads, which is 362.5 liters/lactation, the average daily milk production of 10.8 liters/head/day, with a fat content of 3.44%.

Abstract

Research on the chemical quality of Sapera goat milk at Wayang Dairy Farm Bandung Regency has been carried out. This study aimed to determine and examine the chemical quality of fresh milk in the dairy company Wayang Dairy Farm. This research was conducted in May-June 2023 at Wayang Dairy Farm, Pangalengan District, Bandung, Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Product Technology, Faculty of Agroindustry, Universitas Mercu Buana Yogyakarta and Food Technology and Agricultural Products test laboratory, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The research method used a survey method and tested the chemical quality of fresh milk from the morning milking of 10 Sapera goats. The observed parameters of the chemical quality of fresh milk are protein content, fat and specific gravity of milk. The collected test result data is then tabulated and averaged using MS. Office Excel and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the chemical quality of fresh milk on average had a protein content of 4.71%, fat of 6.70%, and specific gravity of 1.3139 g/ml. It was concluded that the chemical quality of fresh milk at Wayang Dairy Farm is very good and in accordance with the Indonesian national standard (SNI) 2011.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the production performance of Holstein Friesian dairy cow on first lactation based on milk production records and length of lactation. The research was done at PT. Ultra Peternakan Bandung Selatan, West Java. A method of the research used descriptive analysis. Milk production and length lactation period on first lactation were used as production performance variable. The data obtained from 2011-2015 production record of 750 dairy cows on first lactation. Production performance of dairy cows on first lactation were have average daily milk production of 18,94 ± 3,74 Kg, 359,29 ± 81,14 days on length of lactation, 102,19 ± 65,27 days on peak production. The highest daily milk production of dairy cows in the first lactation period was 29,06 Kg, the smallest was 4,76 Kg, the longest length lactation was 872 days and the shortest was 195 days.
