Abstract

Abstract: Lecturer has a crucial position in the process of education, lack of lecturers’ performance in carrying out the assignment will result in the quality of graduates, and the development of lecturer performance to increase the high-quality graduates is absolute to be prioritized. This study aims to find out program, the implementation and the supporting of developing lecturer performance, in “Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi”. This study used descriptive qualitative research methods. Subject of the study is Dean, Assistant Dean and chairman of department. The technique of data analysis is done by data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The study result: (a). Sector of education and teaching further education maintain lecturer rank, revise syllabus, cooperate with other universities, and doing monthly discussion, (b). Sector of research conducted lecturer training and scientific writing competition, (c). Sector of Community Service: founding model village, religious speaker, khatib of Friday prayers, supervisor of community service activity. The implementation of the lecturer development program of the Ushuluddin Faculty in the case of education and teaching run asprogrammed, as well as the research. While in the case of community service institutionally is not maximal yet, even that individually lecturer at the Ushuluddin Faculty performs community service. The factors developing lecturer performance both master and bachelor and office infrastructure, facilitation, classroom and Ushuluddin Faculty also have its own publishing house, they are: Publishing and two scientific journals; Substantia and Al-Mu'asirah, in which it support the lecturers in developing the performance.Keywords : Development of lecturers’ performance

Abstract

Teachers play an important role to improve education quality through increasing their student’s motivation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the leadership style, factors, and obstacles of the transactional and transformational leadership style of the teacher in improving students’ learning motivation at SMA no. 1 of Seunagan, Nagan Raya Regency. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects in this study were a principal and teachers. The results of the study showed that (1) Transactional and transformational leadership style of teacher was carried out as full range leadership model in teaching learning process; (2) Factors influencing teacher as transactional and transformational leadership were character, experience, commitment and his/her competency; (3) The obstacle faced by the teachers in implementing transactional and transformational leadership was the lack of parents support toward policies taken by the teacher in determining rewards or sanction on the students.Keywords: teacher, transactional and transformational leadership, student’s learning motivation

Abstract

Abstract: The quality of education will be well implemented if the principal has professionalism so that the principal, with broader and flexible authority, can manage the decision independently. This research aimed to find out program planning, program implementation, and obstacles faced by principal in improving education quality at Wira Bangsa State Senior High School 4 of Meulaboh. This research employed descriptive method with qualitative approach. Data was collected through interview, observation and documentation study. The research subjects were principal, teachers, supervisors, and students. The results showed that: 1) the efforts of principal made in preparing school program, which was accordance with school’s vision and mission, was well implemented; 2) The implementation program was aimed to establish the effective school models with the professionalism and empowerment of all school staffs for quality of education improvement program. The principal try to improve teacher’s performance in order to achieve the effective learning process; and 3) The obstacle in improving quality of education was planning for teachers’ coaching was not achieved the expected target because of unavailable time, facilities, and staffs that primarily concerned in teachers’ educational principles. Besides, the teachers are not active in Teacher Discussion activities, seminars, coaching and others activities in attempt to improve teachers’ professionalism competence.Keywords:  Professionalism, principal, and education qualityAbstrak: Peningkatan mutu pendidikan akan terwujud jika sekolah dengan potensi yang dimiliki diberi kewenangan yang lebih luas dan fleksibel untuk mengelola secara mandiri melalui keputusan-keputusan yang partisipasif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan program, pelaksanaan program, dan evaluasi yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SMA Negeri 4 Wira Bangsa Meulaboh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru, pengawas, dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Upaya yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah  dalam menyusun program sekolah sesuai dengan visi dan misi sekolah yang dijabarkan dalam tujuan dan dapat dinyatakan sudah berjalan ke arah yang baik;  2) Pelaksanaan program mengarah pada pembentukan sekolah model efektif, yaitu menempatkan profesionalisme dan pemberdayaan semua personil sekolah  bagi program peningkatan mutu pendidikan.  Upaya  kepala sekolah adalah meningkatkan kinerja guru demi keefektifan proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru; dan 3) Kendala dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan antara lain dalam membuat perencanaan untuk pembinaan guru masih belum tercapai sasaran sebagaimana yang diharapkan. Hal ini juga disebabkan karena waktu, sarana dan personil  yang  tersedia terutama menyangkut dengan penguasaan landasan kependidikan guru-guru.  Kendala lain, dalam peningkatan kinerja guru, kurangnya pelatihan bagi guru-guru, tidak aktifnya sebagian guru dalam kegiatan MGMP, seminar dan kegiatan peningkatan profesi keguruan yang mampu meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru.Kata Kunci: Profesionalisme, Kepala Sekolah, dan Mutu Pendidikan

Abstract

AbstractLeadership is the ability to actuate and direct people to the goal of the school through various systematic stages, and it is the key to support the improvement of teachers’ professional competence in learning activities. This research aimed to find out the composing of the principal’s programing improving  the teachers’ professional competence, principal’s technique in improving the teachers’ professional competence, and the obstacles faced by the principal in improving the teachers’ professional competence in State Islamic Senior High School of Kota Bakti. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive method. The techniques for the data collection were observation, interview, and documentation study. The data analysis procedures were data reduction, data display and data verification. The subjects in this study were the principal, vice principal and teachers. The results of this study were: (1) The program compilation of the headmaster was carried out by the principal with vice principal and teachers. The headmaster’s program in improving the professional competence of teachers was in the forms of: realizing the vision and mission of the school, complementing means and infrastructure, conducting activities for teacher development through seminars, continuing education and complementing means and facilities, and holding supervision for both teaching and administration; (2) The Headmaster’s technique for improving the professional competence of the teachers in State Islamic Senior High School of Kota Bakti was to guide, motivate teachers to do best in learning process, foster mental and quality of professionalism, make the climate of the school conducive, increase the motivation of teachers, and give reward and punishment; and (3) the obstacles faced by the headmaster were: less-motivated and careless teachers, the inclination of teachers that was very heterogeneous, either because of the position, age or because of education, lack of teachers’ awareness to their own learning device, teachers that did not have complete device, even it was just impressed sober, and the lack of utilization of internet media  as teachers’ reference in teaching.Keywords: leadership, principal/headmaster, professional competence, and teacher

Abstract

Abstract: Learning management has a big role in providing contribution for the moral coaching of the students in school. This study aimed to find out: planning, organization, implementation, evaluation, and supporting factors of Islamic religious learning in Bambong Islamic State Junior High School of Pidie Regency. This study used descriptive method and qualitative approach. Data were collected by using observation, interview, and documentation study technique. Subject of the study were principal, Islamic religious education teachers, students, and school supervisors. The results of the study showed that: 1) Planning prepared by Islamic religious Education teachers were in the form of annual program, semester program, syllabus, and lesson plan which were well prepared and documented. Planning related to student coaching such as the addition of learning materials in Arabic learning (local content subject), citation of Yasin at the beginning of every month on Friday, Dhuhur prayer in congregation, Ramadan activities, and religious competition at the end of every semester were not going well. 2) Organization of Islamic religious learning was in good direction so that there were no overlapped and wasted time in learning process in the class. Good learning organization enabled the achievement of efficiency in the school. 3) The implementation of learning was in compliance with the applicable curriculum but the learning implementation was not optimal because teacher did not implement the learning based on the lesson plan. 4) Evaluations carried out by the teacher in the class were pretest and posttest in the form of oral, written (multiple choice and essay), and practice test.Keywords: Management, Islamic Religious, Bambong Islamic State Junior High SchoolAbstrak: Manajemen pembelajaran memiliki peran besar dalam memberikan kontribusi terhadap pembinaan moral siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, dan faktor pendukung pembelajaran agama Islam pada MTsN Bambong Kabupaten Pidie. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik: observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari: kepala sekolah, guru pendidikan Agama Islam, siswa, dan pengawas sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Perencanaan pembelajaran yang dibuat oleh guru agama Islam berupa program tahunan, program semester, silabus, dan rencana pembelajaran (RPP) telah tersusun dengan baik dan terdokumentasi. Perencanaan yang berkaitan dengan pembinaan siswa meliputi penambahan materi pelajaran Bahasa Arab (Mulok), baca Yasin setiap awal bulan pada hari Jumat, shalat Zuhur berjama’ah, kegiatan Ramadhan, serta perlombaan keagamaan setiap akhir semester belum berjalan dengan baik; 2) Pengorganisasian pembelajaran agama Islam pada MTsN Bambong sudah berjalan ke arah yang lebih baik, sehingga tidak terjadi tumpang tindih dan pemboroson waktu dalam proses pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Melalui pengorganisasian pembelajaran yang baik, memungkinkan tercapainya efisiensi dalam lembaga MTsN Bambong; 3) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran telah dilaksanakan sesuai dengan kurikulum yang berlaku, pelaksanaan pembelajaran belum berjalan optimal, dikarenakan guru belum menerapkan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan bukti fisik tertulis sebagaimana tercantum dalam rencana pembelajaran (RPP); dan 4) Evaluasi yang dilaksanakan oleh guru agama Islam dalam kegiatan tatap muka meliputi pretest dan post test, jenis tes yang dilaksanakan tes secara lisan, tulisan (pilihan ganda dan uraian), dan tes perbuatan atau praktik.Kata kunci: Manajemen, Agama Islam, dan MTsN Bambong

Abstract

Abstract: Leadership is the principal determining school progress in implementing various school programs. In order to improve the performance of teachers, principals, guidance teachers can malakukan systematically. With the expected performance of good teachers has implications for the improvement of student achievement shown in the learning process effectively. This study uses descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview and documentation. Subjects were principals and teachers on Meureudu Islamic junior high school Pidie Jaya. The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) The head of the school in improving labor discipline teacher at Meureudu Islamic junior high school of Pidie Jaya, 2) principal in improving teachers' work commitment on Meureudu Pidie Jaya district, 3) principal responsibility in improving the work of teachers in Meureudu Islamic junior high school Pidie Jaya. The results showed: 1) The head of the school in improving labor discipline teacher at Meureudu to conduct training either individually or in groups via pengaraha, held a picket through daily oversight and take action for the breach of discipline. The school principal also doing by providing an appeal, reprimand, conduct classroom observations and motivate teachers to perform their duties properly. 2) The head of the school in improving teachers' work commitment on Meureudu Islamic junior high school Pidie Jaya district to include teachers in a variety of activities including, involving teachers in upgrading, involving teachers in Congress Subject Teacher (MGMP). 3) The principal responsibility of teachers in improving the Meureudu Islamic junior high school by developing performance of teachers in various teaching programs and motivate teachers to enable MGMP activities.Keywords: Principal Leadership and Teacher PerformanceAbstrak: Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah sangatlah menentukan kemajuan sekolah dalam menjalankan berbagai program sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah dan guru pada MTsN Meureudu Kabupaten Pidie Jaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan disiplin kerja guru pada MTsN Meureudu dengan melakukan pembinaan baik secara individual maupun kelompok melalui pengaraha, mengadakan pengawasan melalui piket harian dan melakukan tindakan bagi yang melanggar disiplin. Kepala sekolah juga melakukan dengan cara memberikan himbauan, teguran, melakukan observasi kelas serta memotivasi guru agar dapat melaksanakan tugasnya sebagaimana mestinya. 2) Kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan komitmen kerja guru pada MTsN Meureudu Kabupaten Pidie Jaya dengan mengikutsertakan guru dalam berbagai kegiatan meliputi, mengikutsertakan guru dalam penataran, melibatkan guru dalam Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP). 3) Kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan tanggung jawab guru pada MTsN Meureudu dengan melakukan pengembangan kinerja guru dalam malaksanakan berbagai program pengajaran dan memotivasi guru agar mengaktifkan kegiatan MGMP.Kata Kunci: Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dan Kinerja Guru

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Prosedur analisis data adalah reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi.Sedangkan subjek penelitian adalahkepala dinas, kepala bidang, kepala seksi, kepala sub bagian, sekretaris, dan karyawan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Proses pembuatan program dilakukan melalui pendekatan need assessment, pencapaian tujuan, prioritas dan kebijakan, rumusan program dan pelaksanaan kegiatan operasional, uji kelayakan program; (2) Implementasi program dilakukan melalui: (a) sosialisasi program dilaksanakan dengan memperkenalkan sejumlah kegiatan dengan melibatkan seluruh Kepala Dinas Pendidikan, Pemuda, dan Olahraga Kabupaten/Kota, (b) sumber daya yang terlibat dilakukan dengan menempatkan sejumlah individu yang berkompeten dan bertanggungjawab untuk mewujudkan visi dan misi organisasi, (c) analisis SWOT dilakukan dengan menganalisis fungsi untuk mencapai sasaran internal dan eksternal; dan (3) Evaluasi program dilakukan dengan mendayagunakan sumber daya pendidikan yang tersedia di sekolah dengan optimal dan tepat sasaran, sedangkan tindak lanjut program dilakukan dengan pembenahan sejumlah personil tenaga pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan dalam struktur organisasi sekolah yang akan berdampak pada peningkatan mutu tenaga pendidik.Kata kunci:Perencanaan Kerja, Pendidikan, dan Mutu Pendidikan

Abstract

Abstrak: Era globalisasi membawa dampak, baik dampak positif maupun negatif dalam kehidupansemua orang termasuk dalam keluarga. Keluarga memunyai peranan yang besar dalam membentukkarakter anak karena waktu yang dimiliki anak semua bersama keluarga. Namun demikian, pemerintah perlu memasukkan pendidikan karakter dalam kurikulum, baik secara implisit, maupuneksplisit. Oleh karena itu, Kurikulum 2013 kembali dirancang berbasis kompetensi dan karakter.Walaupun peranan keluarga sangat besar, sekolah dalam hal ini guru, harus juga lebih berperandalam memberikan pendidikan karakter kepada peserta didik dalam berbagai kompetensi yangdibelajarkan agar tujuan pendidikan nasional dapat dicapai secara maksimal. Hal ini termaktupdalam kurikulum 2013 yang memungkinkan para guru menilai hasil belajar peserta didik sehingga peserta didik dapat mempersiapkan dirinya melalui penguasaan terhadap sejumlah kompetensi dankarakter tertentu. Kata Kunci: pendidikan karakter, manajemen pendidikan karakter, keluarga, Kurikulum 2013 CHARACTER EDUCATION MANAGEMENT Abstract: The globalization era has brought both positive and negative impacts on the life of everyone,including that in the family. The family has a great role in shaping the children’s character as theyspend most of their time with the family. However, the government needs to include character education in the curriculum, both implicitly or explicitly. Therefore, the 2013 Curriculum was redesignedbased on competence and character. Despite the great role of the family, the school, as represented bythe teachers, must have a greater role in providing character education for the students in variouscompetencies in order that the national education goals can be achieved maximally. It is stated in the2013 Curriculum that teachers can assess the learning results so that the students can prepare themselves through the mastery of a number of compencies and certain character traits. Abstract

The concept of Quality Management is very developed and widely applied, especially in the world of education, an educational management approach has developed, namely Total Quality Management (TQM). The aims of this study were to determine: (1) the implementation of the TQM program at MAS Darul Aitami Aceh Selatan to improve the quality of education; (2) efforts made by madrasah principals in implementing TQM; and (3) inhibiting factors in TQM implementation. Data collection techniques through: observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects included madrasah principals, educators, and education staff. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed: (1) TQM implementation in improving the quality of education includes the implementation of curriculum management, teacher and staff management, student management, madrasah relationship management with the community, and madrasah climate management. (2) Efforts made include: having a strong commitment and will and continuing to strive for quality improvement and working based on quality, increasing teacher professionalism and competence, compiling and planning madrasah programs, empowering madrasah resources to the maximum, providing educational facilities and infrastructure , improve teacher welfare, conduct guidance and enrichment programs for student learning, develop religious culture in madrasah, establish cooperation with madrasah committees.

Abstract

The concept of Quality Management is very developed and widely applied, especially in the world of education, an educational management approach has developed, namely Total Quality Management (TQM). The aims of this study were to determine: (1) the implementation of the TQM program at MAS Darul Aitami Aceh Selatan to improve the quality of education; (2) efforts made by madrasah principals in implementing TQM; and (3) inhibiting factors in TQM implementation. Data collection techniques through: observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects included madrasah principals, educators, and education staff. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed: (1) TQM implementation in improving the quality of education includes the implementation of curriculum management, teacher and staff management, student management, madrasah relationship management with the community, and madrasah climate management. (2) Efforts made include: having a strong commitment and will and continuing to strive for quality improvement and working based on quality, increasing teacher professionalism and competence, compiling and planning madrasah programs, empowering madrasah resources to the maximum, providing educational facilities and infrastructure , improve teacher welfare, conduct guidance and enrichment programs for student learning, develop religious culture in madrasah, establish cooperation with madrasah committees.
