Abstract

Employee attrition is the loss of employees in a company caused by several factors, namely employees resigning, retiring, or other factors. Employee attrition of employees can have a negative impact on a company if it is not handled properly, including decreased productivity. The company also requires more time and effort to recruit and train new employees to fill vacant positions. This attrition prediction aims to help the human resources (HR) department in the company to find out what factors influence the occurrence of employee attrition. This research implements Random Forest while comparing Information Gain, Select K Best, and Recursive Feature Elimination feature selection methods to find which feature selection produces the best performance. The implementation of the aforementioned methods outperforms previous research in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and f1 scores. In preparing this research, the first author collects data sets, makes programs, and compiles journals. The second author assists the first author in programming and preparing the journal. From the results of the tests that have been carried out, Information Gain produces the highest accuracy value of 89.2%, while Select K Best produces an accuracy value of 87.8% and Recursive Feature Elimination produces an accuracy value of 88.8%.

Abstract

The 2024 presidential election is an event for all Indonesian people to determine their best leader. The presidential and vice presidential candidates are also competing to give their best efforts so that they can be elected as President and Vice President. The news media also provide news related to the 2024 presidential election with various titles that can interest their readers. Not infrequently the titles raised contain words that have sentiments, both positive and negative. In order to facilitate the analysis of the sentiments of these news titles, it is necessary to build a system that can detect the sentiments of these titles. In this study, we built a sentiment analysis system using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method on news headline data obtained from online news media to detect whether news headlines contain positive or negative sentiments. For feature exctraction we compare the effect of FastText word embedding with TF-IDF for feature extraction. In the SVM method, several experiments were carried out on the attributes of C, kernel, gamma, and the ratio of the test data. The results obtained are a FastText can outperform TF-IDF for feature extraction. Also, combination of Kernel, C, and gamma values that give the best accuracy score of rbf, 1, and auto respectively at a test data ratio of 90:10, with an accuracy score of 99%.

Abstract

X social media is a microblogging platform for sharing brief thoughts and trends. It has become a focal point for expressing political views. The increased political engagement on X social media has facilitated the swift and extensive sharing of ideas. Still, it also brings the risk of spreading false information and hoaxes that can manipulate public opinion. Preventing fake news on social media is crucial because it can influence election outcomes and social stability. For example, X social media has been used during elections to spread hoaxes, such as false claims of vote tampering or misleading information about candidate qualifications. This study implements a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) due to its advantages in recognizing complex patterns and achieving high performance in tasks like classification. The dataset used in this study consists of 2,670 tweets. The dataset is divided into three subsets: 60% for training, 20% for testing, and 20% for validation. It also uses Term Frequency Relevance Frequency (TF-RF) and Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) weighting features to improve accuracy in detecting fake news. This study compares the TF-RF and TF-IDF weighting features using the CNN classification method on the topic of the 2024 election. The testing results indicate that both TF-RF and TF-IDF achieved similar overall performance, with TF-RF slightly excelling in recall and F1-score. At the same time, TF-IDF showed a marginally higher precision.
