Abstract

Mobile applications, especially those that function as a medium for notification to users, are increasingly developing, from previously only being website-based, now increasingly being mobile-based. The public's need for applications that can provide news or information that is considered important is also increasing. In this research, we will design and build a simple news portal application using API (Application Programming Interface). API is a document consisting of interfaces, functions, classes, structures and other support in application development. With the prototyping method it is hoped that a simple news portal application will be created using NewsAPI which can be freely used. From the results of functional testing using the black box technique, each test case shows that the application is running according to the expected results. The results of non-functional testing using beta testing techniques show that the average percentage value obtained is 86%. The average value for each criterion includes 84% for the Usefulness criterion, 89% for the Ease of Use criterion, 87% for the Ease of Learning criterion, and 84% for the Satisfaction criterion, the highest percentage is for the Ease of Use criterion which proves that the application This portal is easy to use and learn, while also being useful and satisfying for users.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Verval PTK application in elementary school data management in Kabupaten Jember, with emphasis on its impact and precision. The research methodology adopts a differential qualitative descriptive design, with the main focus on elementary schools in Kabupaten Jember that have integrated Verval PTK. Five Elementary Schools were involved in the study. Among others, SD Negeri Jember Lor 2, SD Negeri Kepatihan 1, SD Negeri Jember Kidul 2, SD Negeri Kebonsari 1, and SD Negeri Patrang 1. In the analysis, the study involved technical aspects such as usability tests, performance measurements using Lighthouse, and A/B tests. However, challenges related to platform accessibility and stability are still a concern. Performance measurement using Lighthouse shows excellent scores, although SEO scores require further attention to improve. A/B tests highlight significant improvements in time efficiency and data accuracy through Verval PTK implementations, but some low scores require more in-depth analysis. A number of technical recommendations were put forward to improve the security, stability, accessibility, and SEO optimization of Verval PTK. Regular software updates, efficient error management, and real-time performance monitoring are key focuses to support continuous development. This recommendation is directed to strengthen the role of Verval PTK in supporting efficient and accurate school data management.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of how Dapodik can play a role in supporting efficiency and improving the quality of education at the primary level. The research methodology adopts qualitative research design using WebQual 4.0 model. A qualitative approach was chosen to gain an in-depth understanding of user experience regarding the stability and effectiveness of Dapodik in the management of educational data. This study involved participants from two leading elementary schools in Kabupaten Jember, Jember Lor 3 State Elementary School and Al Furqon Elementary School. In its analysis, the research instrument covers three main aspects. The findings show fluctuations in usability scores that reflect application access and performance instability. Although Dapodik shows a good focus on search engine optimization with high SEO value and best practices, improvements to the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) and page structure are needed to improve stability and responsiveness. The results of operator interviews show the adequacy of Dapodik information, however, more attention is needed in understanding the features of the application. User service responsiveness can be improved by minimizing delays in providing guidance. Suggestions for improvement include stabilization of applications and improved understanding of features, while continued research can explore the positive impact of Dapodik in the context of student learning in various educational environments.

Abstract

This study comprehensively analyzes the performance and usability of the SIMPKB website in the context of teacher professional development. This research carries a qualitative descriptive approach with the aim of deeply understanding the performance and usability of the SIMPKB website. This research consists of two complementary stages, the first involves performance testing using GT Metrix software, and the second phase focuses on in-depth interviews with 5 driving teachers in Kabupaten Jember by applying the concept of the Five Dimensions of Usability (5E) model. Through performance testing using GT Metrix and 5E interviews with driving teachers, significant findings have been revealed. Although SIMPKB shows relatively good response speeds, there are areas of improvement that can be improved, especially in terms of loading times and Largest Contentful Paint (LCP). The 5E evaluation of the mobilizing teacher provides an in-depth perspective on the effectiveness, efficiency, engagement, errors, and ease of learning on the platform. The test and interview results complement each other, providing a holistic picture of SIMPKB's condition and potential improvement. Improvement recommendations, which involve improving response speed and improving usability, can be a foothold for improving the user experience. Further research is recommended to explore optimizing technical performance, implementing more intuitive interface designs, and evaluating the impact of implementing improvements on user effectiveness. By adopting these recommendations, SIMPKB can continue to develop as an effective, efficient, and user-friendly platform in supporting teacher professional development.

Abstract

Forecasting the supply of goods is one of the company's planning strategies to increase sales. However, there are several obstacles in forecasting the supply of goods in one of the boutiques in Jember Regency such as manual sales data collection, namely by recording clothing sales data in the sales book. So that   there can be errors in predicting the supply of goods in the future. The purpose of this study is to apply a clothing sales forecasting system using the moving average method to forecast the supply of goods. This study applies the waterfall model to build a system with stages of analysis, design, implementation and testing. Analysis will be carried out by collecting data related to system requirements through observation, interviews and literature studies. While at the design stage there are usecase diagrams and system flow diagrams. Furthermore, the implementation stage was carried out in boutiques in Jember Regency by piloting the boutique owners. System testing uses black box testing to ensure there are no system functional errors. The findings show that the system in the form of a website can be run properly and can be accessed as long as there is an internet network. In addition, our system is already running well based on the results of black box testing. So that this system can be used by companies as forecasting considerations in providing inventory of goods.

Abstract

Blog merupakan salah satu produk perkembangan teknologi informasi yang dapat membantu dalam penyebaran informasi. Secara teknis pengunaannya blog memiliki beberapa keuntungan dibandingkan website pada umumnya, seperti performa kecepatan akses, sisi keamanan yang dijamin oleh vendor blog, dan kemudahan penggunaan terutama pengisian konten dan perubahan konten. Pada tingkatan rukun tetangga, blog dapat juga dimanfaatkan sebagai media komunikasi selain pemanfaatan media sosial, bahkan penggunaan blog sebagai media komunikasi adalah sebagai pelengkap dari media sosial. Pelatihan pemanfaatan blog sebagai media komunikasi ini merupakan salah satu cara untuk melakukan optimalisasi komunikasi di lingkup rukun tetangga. Pelatihan ini mempunyai sasaran yaitu para perangkat rukun tetangga dengan tujuan memberikan keterampilan penggunaan blog serta pengolahan konten blog, khususnya bagi warga rukun tetangga RT.07 RW.14 Perumahan Dharma Alam. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini membantu perangkat RT.07 RW.14 Perumahan Dharma Alam dalam penggunaan dan pengoptimalan penggunaan teknologi informasi sebagai penunjang komunikasi.

Abstract

Understanding the population data of a region is crucial for policy development and strategic planning. East Java Province, the second-largest province in Indonesia, has undergone significant population growth from 2021 to 2023. Uneven growth poses challenges in resource and infrastructure management. The K-Means algorithm clusters population data into several groups based on specific characteristics. The Elbow method is used to determine the optimal number of clusters, ensuring the accuracy of the analysis. This research aims to analyze and cluster the population distribution in each city in East Java Province, providing a more detailed and accurate depiction. The research findings reveal three significant clusters. Cluster 0 includes 21 towns, Cluster 1 comprises 4, and Cluster 2 encompasses 13. These findings have important implications for targeted development policy formulation at the city level in East Java Province. Additionally, this study contributes to the development of demographic analysis and population management, using valid methods and consistent results between RapidMiner and manual calculations. In conclusion, this research provides a solid foundation for more effective development policy formulation in East Java Province, offering essential information for sustainable population management.

Abstract

In the era information technology advancement, adaptation and integration of technology have become essential needs for organizations across various sectors. This research endeavors to design and implement an efficient and modern web-based library system to the specific needs of the Jember Regency Prosecutor's Office. This study employs structured analysis to comprehensively understand existing library management processes, and it adopts the waterfall model for system development. This model entails sequential stages, including requirement analysis, system design, implementation, and testing using black box method, ensuring a systematic approach to system development. Data collection techniques involve interviews with key stakeholders and examination of existing systems and processes. Data analysis encompasses identifying challenges and requirements, which inform system design and development. The findings indicate that the newly developed web-based library system effectively addresses identified challenges, streamlining administrative processes and enhancing user experience. Its successful implementation is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and resource accessibility at the Jember Regency Prosecutor's Office library, contributing to the modernization of library services in Indonesia and paving the way for future advancements in library technology development.

Abstract

Presence is a one of main thing for a State Civil Apparatus (ASN). However, in its implementation, the ASN attendance process currently still uses conventional methods and finger machines, which causes several problems, such as ineffectiveness, inefficiency, and vulnerability to fraud. This research is aimed to develop a presence application using Android-based face recognition and location-based service methods. This study type is research and development use the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Spiral that focuses on paying attention to project risks. The liason or data collection stage used is a literature study by looking for relevant study, then direct observation in the field interviews with BKPSDM Bondowoso regarding presence issues, and a questionnaire to collect feedback from respondents as material for further application development, then the data collection results will be used to analyze needs, features and application specifications. The risk analysis stage aims to identify risks that may occur. The engineering stage of the application was built using the Flutter framework and RestfulAPI. The results of application testing state that the application can perform according to its functionality and needs. The study results is an Android application that aims to assist ASN in facilitating attendance via smartphones. According to a survey of 500 people, the application was positively received by Bondowoso County Government.

Abstract

Abstract: In the digital era of transformation, educational websites serve as vital platforms for transparently disseminating information to stakeholders. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Jember Regency Education Department website using the COBIT 5 framework. This study aims to enhance the effectiveness and usability of the Department of Education website in Jember Regency by aligning it with stakeholders' evolving needs through comprehensive evaluation and targeted recommendations. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research identifies challenges such as mobile optimization issues, slow loading times, security vulnerabilities, and content relevance concerns. Despite commendable accessibility, these challenges significantly impact user experience and website credibility. The findings underscore the urgent need for website optimization, improved security measures, and continuous content updates. This research provides actionable recommendations to align the website with IT governance standards, offering a roadmap for enhancement. Furthermore, the MEA Capability Results highlight discrepancies between the current scores and expected standards, indicating the necessity for comprehensive alignment with COBIT 5 guidelines to optimize website functionality and better meet user expectations.Top of Form            Keywords: COBIT 5 framework; Jember Regency Department of Education; website effectiveness  Abstrak: Pada era transformasi digital, situs web pendidikan menjadi platform penting untuk menyebarkan informasi secara transparan kepada para pemangku kepentingan. Studi ini mengevaluasi efektivitas situs web Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Jember menggunakan kerangka kerja COBIT 5. Studi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan kegunaan situs web Dinas Pendidikan di Kabupaten Jember dengan menyelaraskannya dengan kebutuhan yang berkembang dari para pemangku kepentingan melalui evaluasi komprehensif dan rekomendasi yang ditargetkan. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tantangan seperti masalah optimasi seluler, waktu muat yang lambat, kerentanan keamanan, dan kekhawatiran tentang relevansi konten. Meskipun aksesibilitasnya baik, tantangan-tantangan ini secara signifikan memengaruhi pengalaman pengguna dan kredibilitas situs web. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya pengoptimalan situs web, peningkatan langkah-langkah keamanan, dan pembaruan konten yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi yang dapat dilaksanakan untuk menyelaraskan situs web dengan standar tata kelola TI, menawarkan panduan untuk peningkatan.
