Abstract

This Research aims toanalyze the influece of the learning environment on the mathematics learning achievent of class VIIIA students at Karuni Christian Middle School. The learning environment in question includes physical, social, psychological aspects, as well as the learning methods applied. The research medhod used is a quantitative approach with data collection techniques through quesrionnaires and documentationnof students’ UAS scores. The research sample consisted of 27 students, research time was the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statstics, simple linear regression tests, and pearson correlation tests eith the help of the SPSS aplication. Thr resarch results show that students’ perceptions of the learning environment are classified as good with an average score of 4.29 (scale 1-5). The average student mathematics achievement score was 74.69. the pirso correlation test shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between the learning environment anf mathematics learning schievement with a correlation coefficient (r)= 0.65 and significant (p)= 0.001. This means that the higher the mathematics learning achievement achievend.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of errors made by students in solving quadratic equations and analyze the factors that cause them. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through written tests, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 11 students in class IXB of SMP Negeri 1 Loura with instruments in the form of test questions and interview guidelines. The results of the study show that reading errors accounted for 45.45%, characterized by inaccuracies in making assumptions. Errors in understanding the questions also accounted for 45.45%, because students did not write down the known and asked information completely. Question transformation errors reached 81.81%, where students were inaccurate in writing down the mathematical model or did not write it down at all. Process skill errors also accounted for 81.81%, characterized by incorrect calculations and incomplete work. At the stage of writing the final answer, all students (100%) did not write the conclusion or answer correctly. These findings indicate that the dominant errors were in question transformation, process skills, and writing the final answer. The main factors causing these errors were a lack of conceptual understanding, lack of focus, and low accuracy among students. Therefore, a learning strategy that emphasizes understanding the concept of quadratic equations and accustoming students to writing down the steps to solve the problem in sequence is needed.

Abstract

Belajar matematika sangat penting bagi anak usia sekolah dasar (Cornelius dalam Abdurahman, 2003: 253), oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan suatu perencanaan dan perbaikan cara belajar yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman bagi anak usia sekolah dasar berdasarkan kebutuhan belajar mereka. Di Desa Wali Ate masih banyak anak usia sekolah dasar yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajari matematika khususnya pada materi operasi bilangan bulat, operasi bilangan desimal dan operasi pada bilangan Pecahan (bilangan rasional). Berdasarkan masalah di atas, maka perlu dilakukan pembelajaran berhitung bilangan bulat, bilangan desimal dan bilangan pecahan. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep operasi pada bilangan bulat, bilangan desimal dan bilangan pecahan bagi anak usia Sekolah Dasar di desa Wali Ate. Adapun Tahapan awal yang akan dilakukan adalah pemberian pretets. Setelah pemberian pretes, selanjutnya diberikan perlakuan yaitu pengajaran operasi bilangan bulat, operasi pada bilangan desimal dan bilangan pecahan (bilangan desimal) dan selanjutnya pemberian posttest. Berdasarkan hasil posttest di atas, terlihat bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman berhitung pada anak usia sekolah dasar di desa Wali Ate. Dari hasil pretest dan posttest tersebut, dapat menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran ini memberi manfaat yang baik bagi anak-anak usia sekolah dasar di desa Wali Ate dalam memahami materi tentang perhitungan dasar.

Abstract

TPA is a test that is often used in job searches by both government and private companies. The Mathematics Education Study Program at Weetebula Catholic University needs to prepare and equip its alumnae and prospective alumnae to be able to compete in the world of work. The TPA question categories used in this training are the verbal category, the number sequence pattern category, the Venn diagram category, the proposition logic category, the analytical logic category and the mathematical reasoning category. This training was carried out using lecture and discussion methods. Before carrying out the activity, a pretest is carried out first. Meanwhile, at the end of the activity, a posttest was carried out. The average value of the pretest results for the verbal category is 40.74, the average value for the Number Patterns category is 51.11, the average value for the Venn diagram category is 48.89, the average value for the prepositional logic category is 33 .33, the average value for the analytical logic category is 35.55 and the average value for the mathematical reasoning category is 53.33. Meanwhile, the average value of the posttest results for the verbal category is 66.67, the average value for the Number Patterns category is 66.67, the average value for the Venn diagram category is 73.33, the average value for the prepositional logic category is 73.33, the average score for the analytical logic category is 70 and the average score for the mathematical reasoning category is 76.67. This shows that there has been an increase in understanding among participants in training activities

Abstract

The problem raised concerns the mathematical concepts contained in the Loura traditional house. The material presented is the result of research on the mathematical elements contained in the Loura traditional house. The activity was carried out in the form of a seminar for class VIII students at SMPK St. Paulus Karuni, which will be held in early February 2024. The stages of implementing this activity are preparation, implementation and evaluation. The preparatory stage is preparing ethnomathematics material with the team to be delivered to service partners. At the seminar implementation stage the presenter provides material to the 28 students with the core material being the shapes of traditional houses related to plane geometric shapes, and giving examples of questions related to roof of the Loura traditional house. Next, the evaluation stage of this activity was carried out by providing practice questions to students and students were also asked for their responses regarding the community service activities that had been carried out.

Abstract

The problem in Wee Kura Village is that elementary school age children consider mathematics to be one of the most difficult subjects. Many elementary school age children are afraid of mathematics. One approach that can be used in learning mathematics is PMRI using the Dragon Ball Learning Model. The aim of this community service is to increase the understanding of elementary school age children through the PMRI approach using the Dragon Ball learning model. It is hoped that this community service activity will be able to overcome the problems of elementary school age children. Methods for carrying out activities include observation, preparation of service instruments, implementation of mathematics learning, evaluation and reporting. Learning activities are carried out outside school hours. The pretest results obtained the highest score of 75 and the lowest score of 45, while the average score was 60. For the posttest score, the highest score was 100 and the lowest score was 70, while the average score was 85. There was an increase in understanding abilities for elementary school age children. The interview results show that children are enthusiastic about learning mathematics, they can learn mathematics with fun approaches and method

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan penalaran siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal setelah penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning pada materi segitiga. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif dengan melibatkan 35 siswa kelas VII C SMPK St Paulus Karuni. 3 dari 35 siswa dipilih untuk mewakili kategori kemampuan penalaran matematis (Tinggi, sedang, rendah) dan diwawancarai secara mendalam terkait tugas penalaran yang diberikan. Analisis data dilakukan berdasarkan tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran peserta didik mengalami peningkatan disebabkan adanya efek dari penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Dalam hal ini model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning sangat efektif pada kemampuan penalaran siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII berbasiss TIMSS di SMP Kristen Karuni tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Kristen Karuni dengan jumlah 24 orang. Tehnik pengumpulan data ada tes dan wawancara. Tehnik analisis data melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa presentase keseluruhan siswa yang mampu dalam menyelesaikan soal berbasis TIMSS yang ditinjau dari beberapa tahap indikator menurut Krulik dan Rudnick pada tahap membaca dan berpikir dengan persentase 31,24% kategori rendah, yang kedua yaitu indikator mengeksplorasi dan merencanakan dengan persentase 28,11% kategori rendah, yang ketiga yaitu indikator mencari jawaban dengan persentase 18,75% kategori rendah, yang keempat yaitu indikator memilih strategi dengan persentase 14,58% kategori rendah, dan yang terakhir indikator meninjau kembali dan mendiskusikan dengan persentase 1% kategori rendah.

Abstract

Abstrak:Gambaran kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA khusunya pada matematika sangat penting untuk dianalisis dan dievaluiasi karena mengukur kamampuan membaca, matematika dan sains pada anak usia 15 tahun. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sekolah menengah pertama yang ada di Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa di Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika tipe PISA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan survei. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer. Hasil tes siswa sekolah menengah pertama di Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya menunjukkan bahwa dari 611 siswa yang mengerjakan 6 soal PISA terdapat: (1) 0,16% siswa memiliki 6 jawaban benar, (2) 1,47% siswa memiliki 5 jawaban benar, (3) 9,17%siswa memiliki 4 jawaban benar, (4) 17,35% siswa memiliki 3 jawaban benar, (5) 24,55% siswa memiliki 2 jawaban benar, (6) 32,57% siswa memiliki 1 jawaban benar, dan (7) 14,73% siswa tidak memiliki jawaban benar. Kata Kunci:PISA, Sekolah Menengah Pertama, Sumba Barat Daya Abstract:The description of students’ ability to complete tests for the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), especially the mathematics test, is crucial to analyze and evaluate because the tests for PISA measure reading, math, and science of 15 years-old teenagers. This study was conducted in junior high schools in the Southwest Sumba regency. This study aims to determine students' ability in solving the math problems of PISA. This study follows a quantitative research method using a survey. The data used in this study comes from primary data. The results of students’ test in Southwest Sumba regency indicate that of 611 students who worked on 6 PISA tests, it was found that: (1) 0,16% of students answered 6 questions correctly, (2) 1,47% of students answered 5 questions correctly, (3) 9,17% of students answered 4 questions correctly, (4) 17,35% of students answered 3 questions correctly, (5) 24,55% of students answered 2 questions correctly, (6) 32,57% of students answered one question correctly, and (7) 14,73% of students answered all of the questions incorrectly. Keywords:PISA, Junior High School, Southwest Sumba

Abstract

The Academic Potential Test is a test that aims to measure a person's abilities in the general academic field. This test is also often associated with intelligence. Currently, apart from selecting prospective students at universities, The Academic Potential Test has also become a standard test in the selection of Civil Servant Candidates and in the recruitment of private employees and employees of State-Owned Enterprises. Based on the background above, it is necessary to measure the ability of students from the Mathematics Education Study Program at Catholic University Weetebula in solving test questions. This needs to be done as a first step in determining the abilities of prospective graduates. The method used in this research was by giving a written test in the form of test questions to 56 students and interviews with 9 students who took the test. The instruments used were 40 test questions and an interview guide. The data analysis techniques used are reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The test results show that students who get the low category are 84%, students who get the Average category are 7% and students who get the high category are 9%. The interview results showed that students were able to understand the test questions given, but students had difficulty determining how to solve them, so students were unable to determine the correct answer
