Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students' errors in solving quadratic equation problems. The subjects of the study were grade IX B students of SMP Negeri 1 Loura with a total of 13 students. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative using research instruments, test sheets and interviews. The tests used are quadratic equation material questions, while the type of interview conducted is in the form of semi-structured interviews. The results showed that reading error was 0.0%, problem misunderstanding error was 40%, problem transformation error was 60%, process skill error was 75%, final answer writing error was 20%. Student errors are caused by several things including: lack of understanding of the concept of quadratic equations, not focusing and not being careful in doing problems.

Abstract

This research aims: to find mathematical aspects found on the roof of a loura traditional house, apply the mathematical aspects found in learning the roof of a loura traditional house. This research was conducted at SMKN 2 Tambolaka City class X. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development). Data are obtained from the results of filling out observation sheets and, tests and taking documentation. Loura traditional houses have mathematical aspects such as triangles. The results obtained from the implementation of the research showed an increase, this can be seen from the results of student answers on student worksheets and an increase in student activity in terms of questions and answers in class and their active and critical way of thinking. Likewise, the learning outcomes of each action showed improvement. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of learning media in trigonometry material on the roof of a loura traditional house at SMKN 2 Tambolaka City based on the results of research can improve mathematics learning outcomes and teachers can try to apply this method so that students are active and motivated in learning mathematics

Abstract

This research aims to produce interactive media on fractional blok board, knowing the validity, practicality and effectiveness of students on fraction material and learning media on the fraction block board. The research method used is the Borg and Gall development model (research and information collection, Planning, Development preliminary from of product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, operational product revision, operational field testing, final product revision, and dissemination and implementasi). The subjects of this research are students in class VII Tambolaka City 3 Public Middle School. Thus, the results of the validity of the material and media in this research can be stated highly valid ininitial field trial classes 97% and 97,916%, main field test class 98% and 100%, and operational field trial classesempiis 99% and 100%. Practicality results in learning media by validators and students in the test class initial field test 97,5% and (highest 77,5% and lowest 52,5%), test class main 100% and (highest 87,5% and lowest 75%), and trial class operational/empirical 100% and (highest 97,5% and lowest 75%). Where, as a results of student effectiveness, the highest score was 100% and the lowest was 52%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine students' mathematical communication skills after the application of the problem based learning model of number pattern material in grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Loura. The type of research is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection uses interviews and documentation. The data analysis process is carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study showed that from each level of the percentage level of the student communication ability category, namely the percentage level of the high category was 20%, medium 20% and low 60%. The impact of this ability is that students do not relearn the material that has been given during learning and do not pay attention to the researcher delivering the material

Abstract

In general, the North Wewewa Wewewa Woven Fabric of Bokuna Village is passed down from the ancestors and followed until now this Woven Fabric has beautiful motifs made based on daily life and also from nature. Ethnomathematics is a bridge between culture and mathematics, ethmomathematics is adapted by cultural groups to see that the culture contains mathematical aspects. This research aims to find out the concept of geometry in Woven Fabrics. The data collected is in the form of documentation, interviews, and observation results. The type of research used in qualitative descriptive is to describe the mathematical elements contained in woven fabrics. Data collection uses observation and interviews. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the analysis show that Woven Fabrics are sacred crafts that are inherited from ancestors or from generation to generation. In the study, the researcher found several one-dimensional and two-dimensional buildings. The geometric shapes found by the researcher are: rectangular shape on the entire shape of the woven fabric, an equilateral triangle shape on the mamuli motif, an isosceles triangle shape on the flower motif, a bele ketupat shape on the star motif, a rectangular shape on the entire woven fabric, a square shape on the butterfly motif

Abstract

This study aims to find out the difficulties of students in solving PLSV problems using the demonstration method for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 5 Lamboya. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. 14 students as subjects to be researched to the extent to which the students can work on one-variable lienar equation problems. The data collection methods used are tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study showed that there was still a lack of ability of students to solve PLSV questions that answered the questions correctly and incorrectly. The results of the analysis for problems number 1, 2 and 3 were at the stage of difficulty in interpreting mathematical language (59.66%), the stage of difficulty in using data (64.33%), the stage of difficulty in mastering concepts correctly (66.66%), the stage of difficulty in using calculation operations (66.66%), and the stage of difficulty in drawing conclusions (83.33%). The cause of incompetence is that students do not read the questions carefully so that they make mistakes in writing down what is known and what is asked, so that they are less able to solve problems, in a hurry so that others are incomplete.

Abstract

Abstrak:Gambaran kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA khusunya pada matematika sangat penting untuk dianalisis dan dievaluiasi karena mengukur kamampuan membaca, matematika dan sains pada anak usia 15 tahun. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sekolah menengah pertama yang ada di Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa di Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika tipe PISA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan survei. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer. Hasil tes siswa sekolah menengah pertama di Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya menunjukkan bahwa dari 611 siswa yang mengerjakan 6 soal PISA terdapat: (1) 0,16% siswa memiliki 6 jawaban benar, (2) 1,47% siswa memiliki 5 jawaban benar, (3) 9,17%siswa memiliki 4 jawaban benar, (4) 17,35% siswa memiliki 3 jawaban benar, (5) 24,55% siswa memiliki 2 jawaban benar, (6) 32,57% siswa memiliki 1 jawaban benar, dan (7) 14,73% siswa tidak memiliki jawaban benar. Kata Kunci:PISA, Sekolah Menengah Pertama, Sumba Barat Daya Abstract:The description of students' ability to complete tests for the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), especially the mathematics test, is crucial to analyze and evaluate because the tests for PISA measure reading, math, and science of 15 years-old teenagers. This study was conducted in junior high schools in the Southwest Sumba regency. This study aims to determine students' ability in solving the math problems of PISA. This study follows a quantitative research method using a survey. The data used in this study comes from primary data. The results of students' test in Southwest Sumba regency indicate that of 611 students who worked on 6 PISA tests, it was found that: (1) 0,16% of students answered 6 questions correctly, (2) 1,47% of students answered 5 questions correctly, (3) 9,17% of students answered 4 questions correctly, (4) 17,35% of students answered 3 questions correctly, (5) 24,55% of students answered 2 questions correctly, (6) 32,57% of students answered one question correctly, and (7) 14,73% of students answered all of the questions incorrectly. Abstract

Students' ability in solving mathematical word problems, especially in the Two-Variable Linear Equation System (SLS), is still relatively low because many students have difficulty in understanding the context of the problem, determining the solution strategy, and developing higher-order thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the cognitive processes of class X B students of SMA Negeri 1 Kota Tambolaka in solving SLS story problems based on Bloom's Taxonomy. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach involving 23 students as test participants, then six students were selected by purposive sampling to be interviewed representing the high, medium, and low ability categories. Data were collected through written tests, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with triangulation as a test of data validity. The results showed that high-ability students were able to reach all levels of cognitive processes (C1–C6), medium-ability students reached C1–C4 but still experienced difficulties in C5 and C6, while low-ability students only reached C1–C3 and were not yet able to perform analysis, evaluation, and creation adequately. These findings indicate that students' higher-order thinking skills have not developed evenly, so teachers need to design learning and assessments that gradually train analytical, evaluation, and creative skills in solving mathematical story problems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan LKPD berbasis etnomatematika dengan konteks atap rumah adat terhadap kemampuan numerasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Kristen Karuni. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pre-eksperimental menggunakan desain One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22–29 April 2026 dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 23 siswa kelas VIII.Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, dokumentasi, dan lembar observasi. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal pretest dan posttest pada materi segitiga dan trapesium. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji Shapiro–Wilk, uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, dan N-Gain dengan bantuan SPSS 16.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai siswa meningkat dari 62,30 pada pretest menjadi 94,13 pada posttest. Hasil uji Wilcoxon memperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara pretest dan posttest. Hasil N-Gain sebesar 0,81 berada pada kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, penggunaan LKPD berbasis etnomatematika efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi siswa melalui pembelajaran yang lebih konkret, kontekstual, dan bermakna.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman matematika siswa kelas VII B SMPK St. Paulus Karuni setelah diterapkan pembelajaran matematika berbasis etnomatematika rumah adat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimen jenis One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII B SMPK St. Paulus Karuni yang berjumlah 21 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes berupa pretest dan posttest. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik Normalized Gain (N-Gain) untuk mengetahui tingkat peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematika siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pretest siswa sebesar 44,48 meningkat menjadi 92,57 pada posttest. Hasil analisis N-Gain memperoleh rata-rata sebesar 0,89 yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Selain itu, hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran mencapai persentase 100% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika berbasis etnomatematika rumah adat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematika siswa. Pembelajaran berbasis budaya lokal membantu siswa memahami konsep matematika secara lebih konkret, menarik, dan bermakna.
