Abstract

The implementation of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach in the learning process at SMP Progressive Bumi Shalawat Sidoarjo aims to integrates academic content and language learning to address the challenges of combining religious and general education in Islamic boarding schools. This community service used a participatory, training-based method with stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. Teacher training focused on integrating academic content with English instruction, creating CLIL-based lesson plans, and employing scaffolding techniques. Results showed improvements in teachers' understanding and readiness to implement CLIL, as well as positive impacts on teaching practices. However, challenges remain in terms of training duration and resource provision. The study concludes that CLIL is a practical approach for enhancing English proficiency and academic content comprehension while maintaining Islamic values. Continuous support and follow-up are recommended to strengthen long-term implementation.

Abstract

The Senior High School English MGMP of East Java Province faces several urgent issues, including the large number of terminologies and processes that must be internalized and implemented within the Merdeka Curriculum and its supporting components. In addition, the Senior High School English MGMP of East Java Province should specifically focus on developing instructional modules and teaching materials for Senior High School English subjects in the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly for Phase F (General and Advanced). The proposed solution to address these challenges is to provide training on breaking down the Learning Outcomes, Learning Objectives, and Learning Objective Pathways for Phase F General and Phase F Advanced, as well as on developing Phase F Instructional Modules and English teaching materials. This training is conducted through practical workshops. This method is chosen because it aligns with participant-centered principles, is non-directive, and enables teachers to work collaboratively, actively, and productively. The community service activities with the East Java Senior High School English MGMP have been carried out through several stages: coordination meetings with MGMP board members, preparation of training modules, delivery of theoretical materials, preparation of Phase F instructional module materials, offline theoretical sessions, practical workshops on developing teaching materials and instructional modules for both General and Advanced Phase F, and follow-up activities. All activities were successfully implemented, and nearly all expected outputs were achieved.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMAN 8 Muaro Jambi Pada pembelajaran fisika materi suhu dan kalor. Metodologi: Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan dengan metode campuran (mixed methods) dengan desain sequential explanatory yang menggabungkan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan kualitatif secara berurutan. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini siswa SMAN 8 Muaro Jambi yang berjumlah 96 siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 sampai XI MIPA 3 semester ganjil 2019/2020. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Temuan utama: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indikator kemampuan klasifikasi dasar materi suhu dan kalor termasuk dalam kategori tidak kritis dengan persentasi 53,1%. Indikator kemampuan pengambilan keputusan materi suhu dan kalor termasuk dalam kategori tidak kritis dengan persentasi 54%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa siswa SMAN 8 Muaro Jambi tergolong dalam kategori tidak kritis. Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa disebabkan karena siswa belum terbiasa disajikan pembelajaran aktif yang memaksimalkan potensi berpikir siswa. Aplikasi dari penelitain: Penelitian ini dapat digunakan dalam menganlisis kemampuan berfikir kritis yang dimiliki siswa. Keterbaruan penelitian: keterbaruan dalam penelitian yaitu berupa menganalisis kemapuan berfikir kritis yang dimiliki siswa SMAN 8 Muaro Jambi.
