Abstract

Methods and media are two essential elements in the learning process. The phenomenon found in qawā‘id learning at MTsN 1 Pringsewu shows that interactive learning media are still rarely used by teachers; even teachers are only fixated on textbooks and use videos and powerpoints that are not interactive. This causes students to not be enthusiastic in participating in learning. This research specifically aims to develop interactive qawā‘id learning media to increase learning enthusiasm. This research is development research using the Borg and Gall model with ten steps of development, and only this research is limited to the seventh step only. The results of the media expert's assessment of the H5P application learning media obtained a percentage value of 88% and was in the range of 70%-89%, which means that the media developed was categorized as feasible/good. Meanwhile, based on the results of field trials by giving questionnaires to 32 students of MTs Negeri 1 Pringsewu, student responses to the product developed were obtained with a score of 93.75%. This product in the form of H5P application learning media is very feasible to help students learn qawā‘id. However, this research is limited to the jumlah ismiyyah and the jumlah fi‘liyyah. Based on the results of observations in learning and questionnaire responses to the developed media, it appears that students are very enthusiastic about participating in learning. Abstrak Metode dan media merupakan dua unsur yang sangat penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Fenomena yang ditemukan dalam pembelajaran qawā‘id di MTsN 1 Pringsewu menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif masih jarang digunakan oleh guru, bahkan guru hanya terpaku pada buku teks dan penggunaan video dan powerpoint yang tidak interaktif. Keadaan ini menyebabkan siswa tidak antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Penelitian ini secara khusus bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran qawā‘id yang interaktif untuk meningkatkan antusisme belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model Borg and Gall dengan sepuluh langkah pengembangan, hanya saja penelitian ini terbatas sampai pada langkah ketujuh saja. Hasil penilaian ahli media terhadap media pembelajaran aplikasi H5P diperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 88% dan berada pada kisaran 70%-89% yang berarti media yang dikembangkan dikategorikan layak/baik. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil uji coba lapangan dengan pemberian angket kepada 32 siswa MTs Negeri 1 Pringsewu diperoleh hasil respon siswa terhadap produk yang dikembangkan dengan skor 93,75%. Produk berupa media pembelajaran aplikasi H5P ini sangat layak untuk membantu siswa belajar qawā‘id. Namun penelitian ini terbatas pada jumlah ismiyyah dan jumlah fi‘liyyah. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dalam pembelajaran dan angket tanggapan terhadap media yang dikembangkan, terlihat bahwa siswa sangat antusias mengikuti pembelajaran. Hal ini dikarenakan media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan menarik dan interaktif sehingga siswa antusias untuk belajar. Kata Kunci: Pengembangan, Media Pembelajaran, Aplikasi H5P, Jumlah Ismiah, Jumlah Fi’liyyah.

Abstract

In the constructivist paradigm, Virtual Reality technology focuses on the active interactive learning process of learners and attempts to reduce the gap between learner knowledge and real life experiences. Recently, virtual reality technologies have been developed for various applications in education, but more research is needed to establish appropriate and effective learning techniques and practices to motivate meaningful learning. The results showed that self-efficacy and perceived interaction are two important factors affecting perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and learning motivation. In addition, learning motivation is also a predictor for influencing perceived usefulness. After that, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and motivation to learn are three important factors that influence students' intentions to use virtual reality learning environments.Keywords: virtual reality (VR), constructivism, technology acceptance model (TAM), perceived self-efficacy, learning motivation, perceived interaction

Abstract

.Learning media by using cartoon images can be used as an alternative to reduce that problems in the learning process. Development of instructional media using cartoon images but can assist students in understanding the message delivered learning materials and is able to create an atmosphere of fun in learning. This study aims ti produce cartoons as a medium of learning media in accordance with the eligibility criteria and the media on the subject of Social Sciences (IPS) class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjuang baru. Type of research is the development of research. Products developed through five phases: (1) Planning (2) Initial Product Development (3) Validation Products (4) Trial and (5) the product. Data collection tool was a questionnaire. Analysis descriptive data quantitatively to determine the quality of the product. The research model development is the procedural model with research subject 4 respondents, consisting of one validators media experts and one experts material ie 1 lectures UNP, and 1 teachers of Social Sciences (IPS) class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjuang baru on the subjects of Social Sciences (IPS) CLASS VIII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjuang baru. Samples were VIIIgrade student at SMPN 1 Tanjuang baru on the subjects of Social Sciences (IPS). The validity of the test results for the material aspects of the media is in the category of “Very Good” by the percentage obtained by 82% and for aspects of the media is in the category of “Very Good” with a percentage 86% was obtained. Furthermore, in order to test the practicality of products based on the results of phase 2 trials that have been carried out in the category of “Very Good” by percentage gained 93%. This research results showed that the quality of media products developed cartoon as a whole is in the category of “Very Good” with a percentage of 92%. It can be concluded that the cartoon image of media products is feasible to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

Both in traditional and online English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom, interactions between teachers and peers are indeed needed to practice the targeted language. However, in classes attended by a big number of mixed ability learners, these interactions can hardly as effective as is expected. Along with limited available time for studying more about the language in the classroom as Foreign Language Learning (FLL), learners rarely use the target language in their day-to-day life or interacting with a native speaker, and this lack completes its complexity. Therefore, the writer argues that integrating chatbot in the classroom as an alternative solution to cope with learners' lack of interactions using English in the classroom and real life. This paper is a position paper in which the writer presents her arguable opinion on why integrating chatbots in EFL learning can be an alternative solution.Keywords : EFL, FLL, Integrated Classroom, Chatbot Experience

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the curriculum at Budi Mulia Padang Islamic Elementary School, starting from the applied curriculum, learning planning, implementation of learning, and evaluation. This study uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Informants in this study were principals, representatives, teachers, and students. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using interactive analysis models, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The validity of the data test technique uses triangulation. The results of the study show that the curriculum used by Budi Mulia Padang Elementary School is a National curriculum, namely the 2013 Curriculum and Education Unit Level Curriculum, and the foundation curriculum, namely a character-based curriculum with a full day school system. Learning planning is carried out by designing syllabus and lesson plans by the teacher as a reference in carrying out classroom learning, and designing classroom management so that the classroom atmosphere is comfortable and enjoyable. The implementation of learning in the classroom is carried out using methods and media that vary according to the theme being studied by inserting character values. Character cultivation is also carried out outside learning activities, namely through routine activities and school culture as well as self-development / extracurricular activities. Evaluation is carried out by assessing aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of students according to the theme with the format stated in the teacher's lesson plan.

Abstract

This article presents the development of a digital competency model for Distance Learning (DL) students in Indonesia which is also called CompDigAl_EAD. The following topics were discussed in this study: educational competence, digital competence, and students in distance learning. This model was developed between 2015 and 2020. It was created based on theoretical reference and competency mapping in two classes, one of which was a distance learning undergraduate program and the other a postgraduate program, to enroll students' digital competencies in this modality. As a result, a set of competencies is obtained. It is analyzed by DL students and specialists. Based on the results, the model consists of seven general competencies: 1. Computer use, 2. Internet and online communication, 3. Communication, 4. Information management, 5. Digital content creation and development, 6. Management virtual profiles and, 7. Attendance On line. Currently, this model is in the final validation stage. Abstract

Abstract The Indonesian government in an effort to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic issued regulations for all students to carry out online-based learning. IPDN campus is one of the official colleges that implements an online-based learning process using various media, one of which is the zoom application. The effectiveness of online-based learning needs special attention so that the online learning process can continue effectively. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning through the Zoom application at the IPDN Campus of West Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews through the WhatsApp application. Based on the results of this study, it is found that the learning process through zoom media is effective. With online learning, the IPDN Praja is more independent and motivates the IPDN Praja to be more active in their recovery, besides that in the lecture process, the IPDN Praja lecture will better understand and accept the material well.Keywords: Learning, Covid-19, Online

Abstract

English for Specific Purposes (ESP) taught at Higher Education Institution (HEI) is a kind of course for students majoring other than English. The descriptive research conducted in one of HEI in Pekanbaru, Riau, involved 65 students majoring in Computer Science of that institution. The data gathered by observation and interviews. This research aimed to find out what were the causes of students' weaknesses in English writing skills, for those were the primary problem that they have compared to other English skills. It was revealed those students had 1) low competence in General English (GE) based on CEFR, 2) had a problem with writing, even in their first language, 3) tendency in taking advantage of Google Translate without further checking, 4) lack of knowledge on lexical choice, sentence construction and the structure of writing, 5) limited practicing time and opportunity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat pendidikan orang tua dengan prestasi belajar siswa kelas V SD Negeri se-Gugus II kecamatan ABTB kota Bukittinggi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian ex-post facto dengan metode korelasional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah  kelas V di SDN 05 Birugo, kelas V di SDN 07 Belakang Balok, kelas V di SDN 09 Belakang Balok, dan kelas V di SDN 10 Sapiran. Hasil perhitungan data penelitian yang digunakan adalah korelasi dari Pearson diperoleh rhitung 0,811 > rtabel 0,217 pada taraf α=0,01. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan positif pada tingkat pendidikan orang tua dengan prestasi belajar siswa kelas V SDN se-Gugus II kecematan ABTB Kota Bukittinggi

Abstract

Rendahnya mutu pendidikan yang tercermin pada rendahnya mutu SDM disebabkan oleh kurangnya perhatian guru terhadap kualitas proses pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, perbaikan mutu pendidikan harus diawali dengan perbaikan proses pembelajaran. Paradigma selama ini hanya mementingkan hasil tes atau ujian harus segera diubah menjadi penekanan pada  proses pembelajaran, sedangkan hasil ujian atau tes merupakan dampak dari proses pembelajaran yang benar dan berkualitas. Penelitian ini merupakan literatur review. Literatur review ini bertujuan untuk membangun dan mengkonstruksi konsepsi secara lebih kuat berbasis penelitian‐penelitian empiris yang pernah dilakukan. Review ini berbasis pada teknik meta analisis yang merupakan salah satu upaya merangkum berbagai hasil penelitian secara kuantitatif.Dalam studi ini peneliti memetakan beberapa  artikel atau kajian yang berkaitan dengan lesson study. Lesson study merupakan model lebih berfokus pada upaya pemberdayaan guru sesuai dengan kapasitas serta permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh masing-masing guru.  Sehubungan dengan hal itu, maka artikel ini akan membahas apa, mengapa, dan bagaimana lesson study. Hasil literatur review meneukan bahwa  pembelajaran guru melalui lesson study terjadi peningkatan derajat pedagogi yang berpusat pada peserta didik.
