Abstract

Community Service Activities (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM) are one form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, aiming to apply knowledge in a concrete way within society. This PKM activity adopts the theme “Educational Simulation and Prevention of Negative Social Interaction in the School Environment”, targeting twelfth-grade students of SMK Fajar Ciseeng. The background of this activity is the increasing challenges faced by adolescents in dealing with negative influences such as bullying, promiscuity, misuse of social media, and behavioral deviations resulting from a lack of emotional management and self-control. The methods used include material presentations, interactive discussions, case simulations, question-and-answer sessions, and the writing of impressions and messages to obtain feedback from participants. The results of the activity indicate that students gained a better understanding of the importance of controlling emotions, being critical in the use of social media, and building a positive, bullying-free school environment. Therefore, this PKM activity has a positive impact on increasing students’ awareness and behavior in preventing negative social interactions.

Abstract

The use of social media in the school environment often becomes an initial space for students to shape their self-identity, interact, and build social relationships in the digital era. In the context of SMK Fajar Ciseeng, the intensity of students’ social media use has its own dynamics, influenced by technological developments, digital trends, as well as the diverse characteristics and backgrounds of the students. This Community Service Activity (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM) aims to examine and provide guidance on the importance of wise and responsible social media use as an effort to prevent juvenile delinquency. The program is implemented through observation, educational outreach, interactive discussions, and the presentation of case studies involving students, teachers, and the school community. Through this series of activities, students are expected to understand the positive and negative impacts of social media, recognize the boundaries of digital ethics, and increase awareness of responsibility in behaving within digital spaces. In addition, this activity encourages the creation of a healthy, safe, and ethical digital environment as part of a positive school social climate. Therefore, this PKM activity is expected to make a tangible contribution to improving students’ digital literacy and preventing juvenile delinquency at SMK Fajar Ciseeng.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of development that is vulnerable to various environmental influences, including negative influences that can affect the formation of attitudes and character. The increase in deviant behavior among adolescents, such as inappropriate use of social media, promiscuity, and declining moral values, indicates the need for preventive efforts through ongoing education. This study aims to analyze the role of education to prevent negative social interactions in shaping positive attitudes and character in adolescents, as well as encouraging them to remain well-behaved individuals. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation of adolescent groups in educational settings and the community. The results show that education that focuses on strengthening moral values, ethics, responsibility, and character development can increase adolescent awareness of the consequences of negative social interactions. In addition, providing positive behavioral examples, consistent guidance, and the active role of parents, educators, and the social environment are very influential in shaping adolescents' attitudes to be more disciplined, confident, and future-oriented. Education to prevent negative social interactions also helps adolescents develop self-control and make wise decisions. Thus, the development of positive attitudes and character in adolescents depends not only on themselves but also requires good cooperation between family, school, and community. This research is expected to serve as a reference in developing effective character education programs, in order to create a generation of positive, well-mannered adolescents who are capable of facing social challenges in the modern era..
