Abstract

Palm trees are now getting scarce, as many are old and cut down. The absence of technology that can shorten the dormancy of sugar palm is an obstacle that is still faced in the provision of palm seeds. The cause of dormant seed dormancy is the thick skin of the seeds and the unbalanced stimulants and inhibitors present in spurring germination activity. Eliminating the dormancy period is one way for the provision of seeds briefly. This study used RAK method with one factor experiment. From the experiment there were 5 treatments with 5 replications. The treatment is a1: Without treatment (control), a2: Approximate to the bud eye, a3: Given a hole near the bud eye, a4: Beaten with a hammer on the seeds of palm sugar and a5: Soaked in water with an initial temperature of 75o C for 15 minutes. The results showed that the physical treatment to break the dormancy aren gives effect, on percentage parameter germination, sprout sprout 50% growth rate and length radikula. The hole treated treatment was the best treatment in declaring dormancy of palm seeds with the highest percentage of germination percentage of 66% and the fastest 50% sprout time growth rate of 0.64 (4.4 days)

Abstract

One of decreasing factors of rice production are pests and diseases in rice plants (conch, mice, blast, dwarfs). Along the expansion of the tidal field  in South Borneo controled the pest of the rice plants is needs to do  well. To slove farmers' problems, an application was developed to identify pests and rice diseases in the tidal fields by imitating the thinking of a pest and rice plant diseases controller expert to identify a bug or disease and provide a treatment solution. The goal of the study is to create a system that can diagnose pests and diseases of rice plants and analyze the effectiveness of applications to farmers and field agriculture instructor. This study uses the forward chaining method to create an application and in the purposive sampling method with 40 respondents performed in Sub-district Sungai Tabuk in three villages Pamakuan village, Gunung Hirang and Lok Bontar. Results from this study is a system of pest identification and rice disease in tidal fields and the results of the tests of 40 people who responded to 19 chose this application so effective, 20 chose effective,  and 1 chose ineffective. The application testing concludes that the design of the pest and disease identification with expert system on rice plants by forward chaining methods is appropriate as the expect and it is effective to use on farmers.

Abstract

Local Microorganisms (MOL) can be produced from the fermentation of existing materials circled around and easy to be able to. One of the waste that can be considered as MOL is the skin of pineapple (Ananas comosus  L.) because it has a fairly high nutrient content (Rao, 1994). Therefore it is necessary to research its effectiveness on cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.). This research aims to determine the effectiveness of local microorganisms from pineapple skin and the proper dose in the provision of local microorganisms from the skin of pineapple to the growth and results of cucumber crops. This study uses a single-factor complete random draft (RAL) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 times repeated to get 20 units of trial. The treatment used is D0 (NPK 10 gr), D1 (MOL 75 ml/L water), D2 (MOL 100 ml/L water) and D3 (MOL 125 ml/L air) crop. The results showed that local microorganisms (MOL) of pineapple skin still have not effectively increased the growth and outcome of cucumber crops. Giving local microorganisms only affects the number of branches of cucumbers. The provision of chemical fertilizer NPK Pearls 10 gr/cropping has the best average results on the observation of the number of leaves, the number of branches, length of fruit and the number of fruits.

Abstract

Waste baglog or media for planting mushroom is the rest of te mushroom cultivation process unused again, so tat it can be used as compost. one of the important role of compost is creating soil fertility. Both the nature of the physical, biological, and chemical properties of the soil. Utilization of waste as an oyster mushroom growing media compost in this study was applied to plant okra. This study used a Randomized Complete Design (RAL), single factor with 5 treatment rooms, 4 times repeat, so come by 20 units of the experiment. The treatment is a k0 : soil control, k2 : 10 kg soil +  500 g soil/compost baglog waste plant, k3 : 10 kg soil + 750 g soil/compost baglog waste plant and k4 : 10 kg soil + 1000 g/compost baglog waste plant. Research results show that compost waste white oyster mushroom cropping media gives influence to the time of the first harvest, the amount of fruits per plant, average fruit length and weight of fruits per plant. Awarding waste composting treatment media white Oyster Mushrooms cropping rate of 500 g/plant gives the best results for harvest time first, the average amount of fruit, fruit length and weight of fruit per plant

Abstract

PGPR is biological product which it has functions as growth improved, nutrition provided, pest control and it can be plant growth acceleration. Chicken manure is an organic fertilizer which it can improving soil fertility and it can be plant growth acceleration. Ultisols is a easier erosion soils, therefore it has less of an organic matter and nutrition. Soybean is one of foodstuff which always increasing of necessary year by year. The pupose of this research was knowing an interaction of the treatments and the best treatments of PGPR and chicken manure towards growth and yield of soybean which planted on ultisols soil of Batakan. This research was using Split Plot Design two factor of treatments. First factor is PGPR concentration (J) as the main of plot, it has 4 levels there is control (J0), 7,5 ml PGPR/l of water (J1), 15 ml PGPR/l of water (J2) and 22,5 ml PGPR/l of water (J3) and the second factor is chicken manure (H) as the sub plot, it has 3 levels there is control (H0), 10 t/ha-1 (60 g of soybean) (H1) and 20 t/ha-1 (120 g of soybean) (H2). This research showed all of variable has not interaction between PGPR and chicken manure. The best treatment of PGPR is on 15 ml/l of water concentration (J2) towards plant’s height and towards harvest age. While, on treatment of chicken manure 20 t/ha-1 (H2) is the best dosage of plant height, root nodus, pods of plant and 100 of seeds weight.

Abstract

One of the efforts to increase mustard production on suboptimal lands such as tidal land with tukungan technology is to offer organic fertilizer. Chicken manure and cow manure can be alternative solutions to improve soil fertility and reduce dependence on the use of inorganic fertilizers in mustard green cultivation. The purpose of this is to determine the ability of organic fertilizers, inorganic fertilizers in increasing soil pH, and the yield of mustard green in tukungan soil. This research was conducted in August to September 2020, at the Greenhouse, Production Laboratory of the Department of Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarbaru, and the Laboratory of Soil and Water Chemistry, Indonesian Swampland Agriculture Research Institute (Balittra), South Kalimantan. The research method used was a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the treatment of j0 (recommended NPK inorganic fertilizer 250 kg ha-1), j1 (chicken manure 10 ton ha-1), j2 (cow manure 10 ton ha-1), and  j3 (combination of chicken manure 5 ton ha-1 and cow manure 5 ton ha-1). The results showed that the application of organic fertilizer of chicken manure 10 ton ha-1 (j1) was able to increase the pH of the tukungan soil by 29%, increase in height of mustard green by 34%, and wet weight of mustard green by 9% compared to the recommended inorganic NPK fertilizer of 250 kg ha-1.

Abstract

In an effort to cope with rat pest attacks, most farmers control chemically which is bad for living creatures and leaves residues for the environment. One of the recommended controls is to use natural rodenticides derived from harmless and environmentally friendly gadung tubers. This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of the basic ingredients of the type of flour with some concentration of the gadung tuber solution to the appeal of white mouse feed. This research was conducted from April to May 2018 at the Laboratory of Agroecotechnology Department of Agricultural Faculty of Lambung Mangkurat University Banjarbaru. The experimental design used was Randomized Block Design of two factors, the first factor was flour base (B) and the second factor was the concentration of the gadung tuber solution (G). The results showed that there was no interaction between flour base material and concentration of gadung tuber solution, but it had a significant effect on single factor that is concentration of tuber bulb solution on all observation variables. The concentration of the best gadung bulb solution in influencing the observed variables of feed consumption, the percentage of death and the time of death of white mice is g1 (30% concentration of the gadung tuber solution), where in the treatment the feed consumed by white mice is 30% from the total feed given, and capable of killing 100% white mice with the fastest death time of 13 days.

Abstract

Tomato is a plant that has high economic value in Indonesia. Tomato fruit productivity is decreasing every year, one of the factors that affect tomato production is environmental conditions that do not support plant growth. Providing shade can avoid excess rainwater that can affect the growth process. This study aims to determine the effect of shade percentage, dose of bokashi fertilizer, and the interaction between percentage of shade and dose of bokashi fertilizer on growth and yield of tomato plants. This study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK), the first factor was shade (N), namely 0% paranet (N0), 40% paranet (N1) and 60% paranet (N2) and the second factor was chicken manure bokashi fertilizer. (B) namely 0 tons/ha (B0), 35 tons/ha (B1), 45 tons/ha (B2), 55 tons/ha (B3), and 65 tons/ha (B4), with 15 treatments and 2 treatments. replications obtained 30 test units. The results showed that the percentage of shade had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, number of flowers, and fruit weight, the best dose of chicken manure bokashi in N1B4 treatment was 40% and shade 65 tons/ha, and there was no interaction between shade and fertilizer. bokashi on growth and yield.

Abstract

Moringa oleifera is a type of plant that has many benefits. Moringa leaves are very well consumed by humans with a variety of processed products. This Community Service aims to open people's insight, knowledge, and skills about the benefits of Moringa leaves for healts, as well as provide business opportunities for farming communities who are interested in cultivating Moringa plants to increase their income. The method used in community service is in the form of counseling. The results of this activity have provided knowledge to the community, especially farmers in the Landasan Ulin Barat Village about the benefits of Moringa leaves for health. This community service is expected to be carried out in a sustainable manner, so that the counseling that has been given can be put into practice in real terms, thus providing benefits for the people of the West Landasan Ulin Village.

Abstract

This research was conducted from March to May 2016 at Bina Putra Garden, Guntung Payung, Landasan UlinDistrict, Banjarbaru.  The Purpose of study to determine the effect of papaya leaf solution and the better concentration to against leaf-eating caterpillars pests and to promoted mustard production. The experimental design used a randomized block design one way with four of solution of papaya leaf percentage treatments (0, 40, 70 and 100).  All treatments were made in the formulation 100 ml of solution. Study results showed that papaya leaf solution concentration of 100% is capable to control leaf- eating caterpillar pets and production of mustard.
