Abstract

This study focuses on the language characteristics of multilingual female teenagers in Bandung, a city with a diverse ethnic population. The research is based on a small sample of 16-18 year old students from a private high school and uses a descriptive-analytic method to analyze recorded conversations as primary data and interviews as secondary data. The study categorizes and analyzes the language variations and characteristics of the teens' speech, using theories from Lakoff (2017) and Holmes (2022). The results suggest that some, but not all, of the language features proposed by Lakoff are present in the teens' speech. Additionally, the study identifies six language functions used, including lexical hedges, tagging questions, empty adjectives, reinforcers, emphasis stress, and rising intonation. Due to the participants' multilingualism, the conversations often involve a mix of Indonesian, local (Sundanese), and English codes.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berjudul Inventarisasi, Dokumentasi, dan Literasi Produk Kerajinan Daerah Sumedang, Cirebon, dan Indramayu Provinsi Jawa Barat. Inventarisasi dimaksudkan sebagai upaya menghimpun informasi lisan maupun tertulis yang masih terpencar serta menggali keterangan yang belum ditemukan selama ini. Dokumentasi adalah menyusun secara sistematis dan menyimpan/mengabadikan informasi mengenai produk kerajinan masyarakat yang berhasil diinventarisasi. Literasi adalah mendeskripsikan produk kerajinan masyarakat yang berhasil diinventarisasi dan didokumentasi, dalam 3 bahasa, yaitu bahasa Indonesia, bahasa Inggris, dan bahasa Arab dengan tujuan agar produk kerajinan masyarakat Indonesia dari berbagai daerah bisa dikenal di dalam negeri, ASEAN, maupun di mancanegara. Metode yang digunakan dalam riset ini adalah metode deskriptif analitik dengan tipe penelitian etnografi untuk mendeskripsikan salah satu bentuk kebudayaan daerah yaitu kerajinan rakyat Dengan metode ini, langkah-langkah yang ditempuh peneliti adalah: penentuan fokus dan lokus; pengumpulan data berdasarkan native’s point of view dan: membuat pemaparan etnografis yang akurat dan replikabel tentang produk kerajinan daerah Sumedang, Cirebon, dan Indramayu. Hasil sementara yang diperoleh adalah terususunnya inventarisasi dan dokumentasi produk kerajinan di 3 daerah serta membaginya ke dalam klaster-klaster berdasarkan sentra kerajinannya. Di Kabupaten Sumedang terdapat empat klaster, Kabupaten Cirebon lima klaster, dan di Kabupaten Indramayu terdapat tiga klaster.Kata kunci: literasi, kerajinan daerah, budaya lokalABSTRACT This research is entitled Inventory, Documentation and Literacy of the Craft Products of Sumedang, Cirebon, and Indramayu Regions of West Java Province. Inventory is intended as an effort to collect verbal and written information that is still scattered and explore information that has not been discovered so far. Documentation is to systematically compile and store / capture information about community handicraft products that have been successfully inventoried. Literacy is describing community handicraft products that are successfully inventoried and documented, in three languages: Indonesian, English and Arabic with the aim that Indonesian people's handicraft products from various regions can be known domestically, ASEAN, and abroad. The method used in this research is descriptive analytic method with ethnographic research type to describe one form of regional culture, namely folk craft. With this method, the steps taken by the researcher are: determination of focus and locus; Data collection is based on native's point of view and: makes accurate and replicable ethnographic expositions of handicraft products in the Sumedang, Cirebon, and Indramayu regions. The interim results obtained were the compilation of inventories and documentation of handicraft products in 3 regions and dividing them into clusters based on the centers of the craft. In Sumedang District there are four clusters, five in Cirebon District, and in Indramayu District there are three clusters.Keywords: literacy, regional craft, local culture

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metafora konseptual dalam lirik lagu-lagu album Sentimental (2020) karya Juicy Luicy. Bahasa yang disampaikan dalam lirik lagu cenderung menggunakan makna implisit untuk memperindah atau mendukung unsur estetika lagu, tetapi dengan tetap mempertahankan diksi keseharian sehingga metafora konseptual berperan penting di dalamnya. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif analisis. Teori yang digunakan adalah metafora konseptual Lakoff & Johnson dan skema citra Cruise & Croft. Sumber data berasal dari lirik lagu-lagu dalam album Sentimental (2020) karya Juicy Luicy. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yakni metode simak dengan teknik catat sebagai teknik dasarnya dan metode analisis data menggunakan metode padan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 61 data metafora konseptual dengan tiga jenis metafora yang ditemukan, yaitu 35 data metafora struktural, 14 data metafora orientasional, dan 12 data metafora ontologis. Berdasarkan pemetaan metafora antara ranah sumber dan ranah sasaran, skema citra yang terbentuk adalah kekuatan, eksistensi, ruang, skala, dan kesatuan/multiplisit.Kata Kunci: lirik lagu, album, metafora konseptual, skema citra

Abstract

This research is motivated by themetaphorical language that often appears in literary works because literary works contain many connotative meanings, so they use majas. One of the literary works is folklore. In this study, researchers were interested in analyzing conceptual metaphors found in several folklore. The source of the research used is based on a collection of folklore entitled "Folklore from Cirebon" by Made Casta and Masduki Sarpin published in 1998. That way, the purpose of this study is to describe the types of metaphors, conceptual meanings, and image schemes in the cirebon folklore collection. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data collection technique in this study is a reading and note-taking technique, namely by reading the book of the collection of folklore, then recorded and classified the type of metaphor obtained. The data analysis techniques used are analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman (1992), namely: (1) data reduction (data reduction), (2) data presentation (data display), and (3) conclusion drawing. From the research, the results were obtained, namely from the 6 folklore analyzed, there were 14 data that contained metaphorical meanings. The metaphor is based on three types of metaphors, namely structural, orientational, and ontological. The results stated that this collection of folklore from Cirebon uses the most orientational metaphors with the image scheme that appears the most is the spatial image scheme. Both metaphors and image schemes are found in many folklore entitled The Origin of the Name Cirebon. This research is expected to be useful for literature learning in high school and for the advancement of conceptual metaphorical research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul, “ Akronim dalam Media Sosial: Suatu Kajian Morfologis”. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif-deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik catat. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah surat kabar yang ada di media sosial, yaitu Kompas, Republika, Tempo, dan Pikiran Rakyat. Penganalisisan data menggunakan metode distribusional (metode agih) dengan pendekatan morfologis. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah morfem, silabel, akronim, dan proses morfologis. Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah pendeskripsian dan proses morfologis akronim nama makanan, nama perilaku, nama perguruan tinggi, dan nama tempat tujuan berkendara dalam media sosial. Berdasarkan analisis data, ditemukan akronim nama makanan sebanyak 5, akronim nama perilaku, 5, akronim nama perguruan tinggi 5, dan akronim nama tempat tujuan berkendara 4. Akronim nama-nama tersebut dapat terbentuk dari paduan fonem awal, paduan silabel pertama, paduan silabel pertama dan kedua, paduan silabel pertama dan ketiga, paduan silabel pertama dengan mengekalkan tiga fonem pada silabel kedua, paduan silabel pertama dengan penghilangan fonem, paduan silabel pertama, kedua, dan ketiga. Morfem yang hadir dalam akronim tersebut dapat berupa paduan morfem tunggal dan paduan morfem tunggal dengan morfem kompleks.

Abstract

Translation acts as a bridge for knowledge transfer. Translators must be well-versed in translation, including translation techniques. In this study, we will explore which translation techniques are used in Al-Ushul Ats-Tsalatsah’s translation, according to Molina and Albir's theory, and which translation techniques are most frequently used. The aspiration is that the outcomes of this study can offer valuable insights to translators and researchers specializing in Arabic language, aiding them in choosing translation techniques for religious texts with the goal of reducing confusion in the translation process. This study employs descriptive qualitative research methods. From the examination of 170 pieces of data, the translator used 13 of the 18 translation procedures suggested by Molina and Albir, with a total frequency of use of 215 times. These techniques include: (1) amplification, (2) transposition, (3) borrowing, (4) literal translation, (5) linguistic compression, (6) established equivalent, (7) linguistic amplification, (8) particularization, (9) reduction, (10) description, (11) calque, (12) generalization, and (13) modulation. The amplification is the most commonly used since certain terms and information in the SL text that cannot be effectively understood unless they are complemented by additional information according to its function.

Abstract

Abstract The existence of this study aims to respond to several strategies that must be used by a teacher to complete the learning process. Teacher strategy is a general approach to teaching that is applicable in various subject areas and is used to meet various learning objectives. Teachers must have an ideal teaching strategy in the classroom to suit conditions that are usually different at each level. The type of method used in this research is a literature study that presents previously published material, and reports new facts or analyzes and a literature review provides a summary of the best and most relevant publications. Based on the results of this study that in an effort to provide motivation, teachers can analyze the motives behind students who are lazy to learn and have decreased achievement in school. The teacher's strategy is very necessary in increasing students' learning motivation, with the implementation of this strategy it is expected that students can improve their learning achievement. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see if there is an influence between PjBL-based LKPD on students' creative thinking skills in PAI learning. The research method used is a quantitative experiment of the pseudo-experiment type with a non-equivalent group design which contains pretest, posttest, and two treatments. The results of the tests carried out in this study are descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test with paired sample t-test type. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that in the descriptive analysis between the experimental class there is an increase of 38.63 while the control class is 36.42, in the normality test of the experimental class and the control class can be said to be distributed normally because the data produced > 0.05, in the homogeneity test of the pretest based on mean of 0.690 and the posstest of 0.690, it can be concluded that it is homogeneous,  In the hypothesis test of the value of Sig. 0.0000 < 0.05,  Therefore, it can be concluded that it is homogeneous, in the hypothesis test of the Sig value. 0.0000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an influence of PjBL-based LKPD on students' ability in PAI learning.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effect of using PowerPoint media on Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning outcomes for class IX B students at SMPN 2 Telukjambe Timur on the subject of Faith in the Last Day. The research population was students in Class IXB with a total of 30 students. The data collection technique uses a survey with a Likert scale-based questionnaire, which is designed based on conceptual, operational definitions, aspects, indicators, and questions related to PowerPoint media variables and learning outcomes. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially. The results of the research show that there is a positive relationship between the use of PowerPoint media and PAI learning outcomes for class IXB students at SMPN. This research is supported by a correlation test which shows a positive correlation between PowerPoint media variables and learning outcomes. Apart from that, the validity test using a construct test on the measuring instrument (questionnaire) shows that the data obtained after the research is valid. This research highlights the importance of using PowerPoint media in improving student PAI learning outcomes. The implication of this research is that the use of this media can be an effective strategy in the PAI learning process at junior high school level, by paying attention to aspects of the validity of the instruments used to measure its influence. From the calculation results, it is known that 9% of students' PowerPoint media is in the low category, 78% is in the medium category and 14% is in the high category, so it can be concluded that on average students' PowerPoint media is in the medium category. Then, the learning outcomes are 9% in the low category, 78% in the medium category and 14% in the high category, so it can be concluded that the average learning outcomes are in the medium category. Kolmogorov Smirnov normality test results using SPSS, sig value. 0.200 is greater than 0.05, so it can be concluded that the research data is normally distributed. Based on the output significance value (Sig.) of 0.000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that "There is an influence of PowerPoint media (X) on learning outcomes (Y)". then the result of the R Square value is 0.983. This value means that the influence of PowerPoint Media (X) on Learning Outcomes (Y) is 98.3%, while 1.7% of Learning Outcomes (Y) are influenced by other variables that were not studied. Referring to the results above, it can be seen we conclude that "PowerPoint Media (X) has a positive effect on Learning Outcomes (Y) with a total effect of 98.3%." This positive influence means that the more PowerPoint media increases, the more it will influence the increase in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The ability to think is an important aspect in individuals that can generate extraordinary ideas or suggestions. Students need to be trained in thinking skills to enhance their intelligence. Therefore, teachers have knowledge of how to implement strategies or well-planned plans according to these goals to effectively develop thinking abilities. Thus, inquiry-based learning strategies are chosen as the most appropriate teaching method by teachers to enhance students' intellectual skills, as inquiry-based learning emphasizes critical and analytical thinking so that students can seek and find their own answers to the problems they face. In the subject of Islamic Education, research strategies are considered suitable for enhancing thinking abilities. This aims to develop understanding and increase students' intellectual knowledge of materials related to Islamic education.
