Abstract

Mothers who exclusively breastfed their babies from 2011-2015 tended to increase. However, in breastfeeding there are still many maternal understandings that are lacking about foremilk and hindmilk. Foremilk and hindmilk are related to the duration of the baby breastfeeding, if the baby has not been obtained in a balanced manner can cause problems in the pattern of defecation of infants especially those aged 1-6 months. The purpose of study was to determine the effect of foremilk and hindmilk balance with defecation patterns of infants who received exclusive. The study design was cross sectional, with total sample 30 mothers who had infants aged 1-6 months and exclusively. The results showed the majority (96.7%) frequency of defecation of infants 1-8 times, consistency of soft stool (96.7%) and yellow stool (93.3%). Out of 30 respondents 53.33% of mothers had a balance of foremilk and hindmilk while breastfeeding and 86.66% of infants had normal defecation patterns. Chi-square test results did not influence the balance of foremilk and hindmilk with the pattern of defecation  with 30 respondents surveyed. This shows that the balance of foremilk and hindmilk has not affected the pattern of infant defecation including frequency, consistency and color of feces.

Abstract

The use of antimicrobial such as antibiotics  against infectious diseases with no control is quite common in Indonesia. This leads to increase morbidity and incidence of drug resistance. Staphylococcus aureus is a pathogenic bacteria, particularly infects the skin. The resistance it difficult to determine which antimicrobials were suitable for therapy. Manukan leaves have an active substance Rhinacanthin can be used as an anti-bacterial. The aim of this study was to determine the inhibition of ethanol extract of manukan leaves (Rhinacanthus nasutus (L) Kurz) against gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) in vitro with the extract concentration of 15,  30, and 60% as a control. This study was a true experiment through the in vitro test with the Kirby Bauer method. The results showed that the average diameter of the inhibition zone was at an extract concentration of 15, 30, and 60% are 9.97 mm, 10.95mm, and 13.18 mm. The Kruskal-Wallis test results showed a significant difference between the four treatment groups (p= 0.010). The Mann-Whitney test showed significant differences in the inhibition zone between control and  treatment at 15, 30 and 60% (p= 0.037). In conclusion leave ethanol extract of manukan has antimicrobial activitiy in inhibiting staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

Abstract

Pain in childbirth has the highest degree of pain among other pain, so that many women are not ready to have children because they imagine the pain that will be presented at the time of labor later. The general objective of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of birth ball therapy on pain intensity in labor. Univariate and bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon test analysis. Bivariate analysis is used to see the effect of the independent variable (independent) on the dependent variable using the Wilxocon test analysis. Of the 50 respondent mothers who carried out the variable therapy pre-test birth ball who were very painful and 29 respondents had pain (58%), and a minority of respondents had little pain, 21 people (42%). And on the post-test respondents the least pain was increased by 32 respondents (64%), while the minority of pain was quite severe as many as 18 respondents (36%). A significant effect on the effect of birth ball therapy on labor pain where the p value is 0.00 <0.05. The results are expected to have an effect on birth therapy on labor pain. The results of the Wilcoxon test analysis with a degree of significance (α) = 0.05 and a P value of 0.00 were obtained (α<0.05) which can be seen from the value which means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion is that there is an effect of birth ball therapy on labor pain.

Abstract

Pain in childbirth is a physiological process caused by myometrial contractions with different intensities for each mother and is a signal to inform the mother that she has entered the labor process stage. Pain in childbirth has the highest degree of pain among other pain, so that many women are not ready to have children because they imagine the pain that will be presented at the time of labor later. The general objective of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of birth ball therapy on pain intensity in labor at the Pratama Hanna Kasih clinic, Medan 2020. Univariate and bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon test analysis. Bivariate analysis is used to see the effect of the independent variable (independent) on the dependent variable using the Wilxocon test analysis. Of the 30 respondent mothers who carried out the variable therapy pre-test birth ball who were very painful and 19 respondents had pain (63%), and a minority of respondents had little pain, 11 people (37%). And on the post-test respondents the least pain was increased by 22 respondents (73%), while the minority of pain was quite severe as many as 8 respondents (27%). A significant effect on the effect of birth ball therapy on labor pain where the p value is 0.00 <0.05. The results are expected to have an effect on birth therapy on labor pain. The results of the Wilcoxon test analysis with a degree of significance (?) = 0.05 and a P value of 0.00 were obtained (? <0.05) which can be seen from the value which means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion is that there is an effect of birth ball therapy on labor pain
