Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of self efficacy and transformational leadership on work stress of members of Brimob Polda Unit in Medan. The study was conducted from November 2016 until March 2017. Using the quantitative method of experimentation, using a one group pretest-posttest design. Using purposive sampling method as many as 20 people. Data collection methods in this study using a scale, which consists of work stress scale, self efficacy and leadership scale, where the reliability of the scale work stress for 0.916, reliability self-efficacy scale of 0.963 and the leadership scale of 0.948. Where the three scales are very reliable and worthy used as a measuring tool in this study. The results of self efficacy training showed the significance (p) value of 0.0000.05, which means that there is an effect of self efficacy training on job stress reduction of Sat Brimob members, while the partial research result between leadership variables and work stress has no significant influence. This is seen from the results p of 0.3270.05 and R squere of 0.053 where the leadership contribution is only 5.3% of work stress. While simultaneous research results show the value of self efficacy and leadership significance to work stress of 0.0720.05, which means that there is no significant influence between self efficacy  and leadership to work stress, with a contribution of only 26.6% determination.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan gaya kepemimpinan dan kualitas kehidupan kerja dengan kepuasan kerja pegawai di Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum Dan Perumahan  Rakyat Balai Wilayah Sungai  Sumatera I. Metode yang digunakan adalah Kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 465 pegawai. Sampel sebanyak 93 responden dengan penentuan sampel menggunakan random sampling. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi berganda Alat pengumpulan berupa skala gaya kepemimpinan, skala kualitas kehidupan kerja, dan skala kepuasan kerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara gaya kepemimpinan dan kualitas kehidupan kerja terhadap kepuasan kerja pegawai (Freg = 63,680, dan p0,00). 2) terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara gaya kepemimpinan terhadap kepuasan kerja pegawai (rx1y = 0,312, dan p0,00). 3) terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kualitas kehidupan kerja terhadap kepuasan kerja pegawai (rx2y = 0,734, dan p0,00). 3)  Kontribusi gaya kepemimpinan dan kualitas kehidupan kerja dengan kepuasan kerja pegawai masing-masing adalah 9,8% dan 53,9%. Secara umum dapat diketahui bahwa gaya kepemimpinan, kualitas kehidupan kerja, dan kepuasan kerja pegawai di Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum Dan Perumahan  Rakyat Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya Air Balai Wilayah Sungai  Sumatera I.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the relationship between authoritarian parenting style and emotional maturity with student’s  aggressive behavior. The subject of this research is students grade VIII in SMP Negeri 2 Medan as many as 60. Data analisys was used multiple linear regression.The result of this research showed that : (1) There is  correlation authoritarian parenting style with aggressive behavior, with coefficient   rx1y = 0.384, p = 0.001. It means  higher authoritarian parenting style then it will be the higher aggressive behavior. The effectice contribution is 14.7% and remaining 85,3% is influenced by other factors not examined.    (2) There is no  correlation  emotional    maturity with aggressive behavior, with coefficient  rx2y = 0.358,         p = 0.003. It means  lower emotional maturity no significantly followed by the high aggressive behavior. (3) There is  correlation betweeen authoritarian parenting style and emotional maturity with aggressive behavior, with coefficien  r = 0.449;  p = 0.002   with p 0,010. It means authoritarian parenting style and emotional maturity influence aggressive behavior with effectice contribution is 20,20%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of leadership style and work morale with work discipline on the staff / government officials SKPD Medan Tuntungan Subdistrict. The data collection instrument used are the scale of work discipline, the scale of leadership style and work morale scale. Population in this research is all the staff / government officials of SKPD Medan Tuntungan District. The sampling technique used samples saturated and the number of samples used is 86 people. Data analysis technique used in this research is multiple regression analysis. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between leadership style and work morale with work discipline.The total effective contribution of leadership style and work morale variables to work discipline was 55,9%.

Abstract

             The purpose of this study to look at the work values Brimob from Toba Batak context and education. This study uses a mixed method approach indegeneous study Psychology. Methods correspond done with a snow ball and use  open questionnaire as a means of data collection involved interviews to deepen the research. These results indicate that members of Brimob ethnic Batak Toba has a dominant work values are honor, wealth and family, this is in accordance with the philosophy of life’s Batak Toba that is Hagabeon, Hamoraon and Hasangapon. The 3H philosophy that mobilizes and motivates members to work discipline, responsibility, honesty, hard work and sincerity. In terms of education, found members who have S1 educated have the value of honorary work and responsibility, while members of high school educated have the value of discipline and honor work.

Abstract

Psychological well being merupakan unsur penting yang perlu ditumbuhkan pada individu agar dapat menguatkan keterikatan secara penuh dalam menghadapi tanggung jawab dan mencapai potensinya. Konsep Psychological well being telah dimulai sejak tahun 2006 pada International School Psychology Association (ISPA), dengan membentuk kerangka konseptual untuk Mempromosikan Kesejahteraan Psikologis secara global dimulai dengan pertemuan psikolog sekolah/pendidikan pada 12 negara, salah satu program ini adalah memandang penting kesejahteraan psikologis anak/remaja untuk meningkatkan potensi yang dimiliki individu secara bervariasi dalam budaya dan bahasa pada pandangan dunia yang lebih luas. Ketercapaian Psychological well being ditandai dengan berfungsinya aspek-aspek psikologis positif dalam prosesnya mencapai aktualisasi diri. Psychological well being akan dicapai individu apabila dia mampu mencapai atau mewujudkan kebahagiaan disertai pemaknaan hidup. Makna dalam hidup mengacu pada gagasan bahwa individu itu sangat termotivasi untuk menemukan makna dalam hidup mereka, yaitu untuk dapat memahami sifat keberadaan pribadi mereka, dan pentingnya rasa/suasana dan terarah/penuh arti. Filsafat makna dalam hidup didasarkan pada asumsi bahwa hidup memiliki makna tanpa syarat yang tidak bisa lenyap dalam keadaan apa pun. Makna hidup memainkan peran utama dalam menjaga kesehatan mental yang positif dan pencapaian Psychological well being.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the corellation between self-efficacy and emotional intelligence with anxiety in students of SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Meriah. Self-efficacy is a state of individual attitude to ensure himself that he will be able to carry out and complete certain tasks in various conditions Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize oneself, be able to carry out social interactions and be able to adapt to the behavior of others. Anxiety is a feeling of fear and worry that is long-lasting on something that is not clear (subjective). The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a negative relationship between self-efficacy and emotional intelligence with anxiety. This study uses a quantitative approach. Sampling technique is total sampling, the sample is 143 students. The data collection method uses a Likert model scale. This study uses a scale of self - efficacy and emotional intelligence and anxiety scale . Multiple regression data analysis method. Based on the data analysis, it was obtained that Rxy) = -0.625 with p = 0.000 < 0.050, with BE% = 39.1%. Then based on the comparison of the two average values, it can be seen that self-efficacy is classified as low, meaning that the hypothetical (62.5) is greater than the empirical average (59.75) and the difference does not exceed the number one SD (11.674) and relative emotional intelligence. where the hypothetical mean (62.5) is greater than the empirical mean (61.31) and the difference does not exceed the number one SD (9.175) and moderate anxiety leads to high where the hypothetical mean (62.5) is smaller than the empirical mean (67, 43) and the difference does not exceed the number one SD (11,626). Thus, the proposed hypothesis is stated.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the description of geography learning in terms of the open personality of the students of MAN I Medan. This type of research is descriptive and quantitative. The sample in this study was the entire subject population, namely all 61 students consisting of two classes. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing a questionnaire (questionnaire) to respondents, which contained questions about the open personality of students and the geography learning experienced so far in the learning process. The descriptive percentage data analysis technique is intended to determine the status of variables, namely, to describe openness personality in geography learning. This study found that learning geography can put students in contact with their geographical environment to better understand modern processes and problems. The strongest openness personality of the MAN I Medan students is curiosity, while the lowest openness personality is smart and thinking. Curiosity is an action that always seeks to know deeper or wider than something learned, seen, and heard. Therefore, it is necessary to provide freedom by explaining the learning encyclopedia to develop and accommodate students' curiosity. This happens due to differences in all student’s abilities and personalities. Personality and ability are dimensions of individual differences in the tendency to exhibit consistent patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting. The nature of the personality focuses on identifying, describing, and measuring individual differences and is also a behavioral and mental mark typical of individuals who refer to differences through feelings, emotions, actions, motivations, and behaviors.Keywords: Geography, Openness Personality, Students

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-adjustment and religiosity in the new students of Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School. The hypothesis proposed that there is a positive relationship between adjustment and religiosity in new students. The population is new students at the Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School which opened 73 people with total sampling technique. The data collection method used two scales, namely the adjustment scale and religious scale. The data analysis method used in this research is the product moment correlation technique from Karl Pearson. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between self-adjustment and religiosity seen from the coefficient value (Rxy) = 0.483 with p = 0.000 0.050. The value of the effective contribution given is 23.4%. This means that the higher the religiosity of the Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School students, the higher their adjustment. On the other hand, increasing the low religiosity of the Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School students makes their adjustment lower. So it can be said that there is a significant relationship between adjusting to religiosity in the new students of the Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School.
