Srimulat is one artist that is very popular comedy group from Surabaya and people enjoy doing in the 1980s. Wax sculpture is a sculpture made of wax in the melt up to 74 degrees Celsius and a means of supporting the display. For it is necessary to have a tool that can provide a facility to introduce Srimulat with a wax sculpture gallery. In this thesis, the author discusses about the design of a wax sculpture gallery that presents an atmosphere Srimulat periodically and information - information about Srimulat. Taking the concept of "Journey As A Comedian Friend" which is a concept Srimulat journey from the beginning, and to the glorious era terakhinya Srimulat, starting from the creation of space in order to attract visitors by optimizing modern design combined with a pop art style. Srimulat wax figure sculpture gallery is expected to be one - the only place that provides a means of education and introduce Srimulat again to be remembered by the people of Surabaya and Indonesia.

The Role and Impact of Technology on the Interior Design Study Program of ISI Yogyakarta. Digital technology grows rapidly and covers all fields in life. The design education conducted by the Visual Art Faculty of ISI Yogyakarta manages to cope with the technology development. This progress does not only set changes in technical aspects such as equipment and material, but also includes a wider range of issues correlated with the designing concept, the users’ responses and the designers’ attitude in the process of creating their works of art. The development of interior design in Indonesia can be tracked from four periods of development: the colonization era, the guided democracy era, the new order era, and the 21st century design era. The Interior Design Study Program, as other study programs existing in the Faculty of Visual Art of ISI Yogyakarta is branded for excellent manual skills. The application of digital technology in its teaching-learning process should ponder many aspects: hardware, software, maintenance, and human capital. Thoughtful researches are required to be able to follow the world development and show the uniqueness of this art education institution

One of the result of culture which representing Indonesian resident creativity is architecture, in this case is Javanese house. [The] mentioned proved with many archaeological fact. Division of time dimension based to the Hindu Budha period and Islamic period. The data got from pictorial data, verbal data, and architectural data. Classic Javanese house, having marking: Building construction from wood representing pillar stand up above of land, having gallery of mine and without space winnow. Old Majapahit house, having marking : building construction from wood standing above batur and still there is no permanent constrictor. its Roof covered by tiles. Final Majapahit house, having characteristic : it is equal to Old Majapahit house but have had permanent constrictor. The Javanese house have building system called rumah kolong or rumah panggung. The Javanese house at Islamic period that is Yogyakarta Kingdom have started to recognize west technology that is with use of its material even conception Hindu still very obvious. Besides esthetics element start to be applied that is with use of the ornament. The enthusiasm on the discussion increases, following the people awareness concerning togender relation and position. Javanese culture maintains a unique family interrelation system. Inside thisarrangement, we can explore the position and role o f a person inside the community as well as the man andwoman interrelation.This research describes the system as the gender relation. The Javanese is a patriarchy community,xoho sets certain gender-related boundaries to show man domination over woman within the society.From the historical background, the gender relation inside Javanese community roas represented on thearchitectural spacc. The rcscarch reveals the layout concept o f traditional Javanese house from previousera, whereas the space concept is still initiated by the gender boundary. Architecture as the product ofhuman culture implements the community socio-cultural condition and psychology. The same situationalso occurred on the gender separation from the social environment and community psychology. In presenttime, the modernization, woman emancipation and the penetration o f western culture are the basis forthe transformation o f gender position and relation to be occurred inside the Javanese community. Thetransformation itself is pointed out to equal man and woman status and position more. The transformationpattern o f gender relation, especially occurred within the Javanese family, slowly shifted the gender conceptinside the house. The transformation o f the gender concept could be generalized and derived into significantpatterns o f room function and organization transformation, the intention o f space and also the orientation.Jit this era, the transformation also alters the pattern o f room layout to a more neutral space.Keywords: gender, interior, transformation, Javanese culture

Seeing the lack of dining facilities in the city of Blitar which is a city of tourism, and as well as its increasingly forgotten folklore that exist in this city then be made to the design of the restaurant with the application of folklore. The restaurant is applying folklore that exist in Blitar, it’s the origin of the town name of Blitar and Jaka Kandung and a Turtledove. Setting, character figures, and the atmosphere on the both story above was applied in the processing of space. The concept of design is through the time which applied folklore setting with the Majapahit era and combined with the current state showing design with eclectic style.

This work design is motivated by women's need for shopping specially for a big city like Surabaya. This need would need to be facilitated. A Shopping center which have few retails and a place to relax is demand by women. Therefore, designing shopping center interior for women in Surabaya was made. The design theme is "elegant beauty" which is compactible with women character, target design is a women teenage and women young adult. This shopping center for women design project expected to become an example for other shopping center for specializing shopping center for women.

Starting from the creating atmosphere that support the revitalization of the Rejuvenating of every client who comes, to optimize the natural modern design that gives the impression of relaxed , calm and hommy. Asian Spa Center is expected to be the only place that offers Rejuvenating spa themselves through a culture, and a country which is traditional and typical and also can satisfy the current needs of the Surabaya society in terms of relaxation and recreation because of tired and stress.

This research is conducted to discover visitors’ visual perception on applied theme of every zone in Museum Angkut. Museum Angkut has many zones, but the ones that will be researched are Batavia and Pecinan zone, Gangster Town and Broadway Street zone, Italy zone, Paris zone, Germany zone, London Street zone, Buckingham Palace zone, Las Vegas zone, and Hollywood zone. The method applied in this research is inductive qualitative with descriptive approach supported by in-depth interview data gathering technique, by using purposive sampling technique with 10 correspondents that were divided into two groups: five correspondents who have no interior design academic background and another five who have interior design academic background. The result found that visual perception caught by correspondents who have no interior design academic background is different from those who have interior design academic background in terms of shape and space variables. The research discovered that visitors could recognize the applied theme more through shape variable. Correspondents recognized shape variables based on symbols, writings, and transportations’ display, while space variables were acknowledged through circulation and theme’s relevance.
