Abstract

Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada materi Sistem Gerak Manusia disebabkan oleh kesulitan siswa dalam memahami materi ini, selain itu metode pembelajaran yang digunakan juga kurang tepat. Upaya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa adalah dengan menggunakan metode peta konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketuntasan belajar siswa pada materi Sistem Gerak Manusia dan respon siswa terhadap penerapan metode peta konsep pada pembelajaran materi sistem gerak manusia. Subyek  penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIc MTs Darul Ihsan sebanyak 34 orang. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimen dengan desain one shot case study. Pengambilan data menggunakan test dan angket, analisis data melalui teknik persentase. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 30 siswa (88,23%) mencapai ketuntasan belajar minimal (KKM) yang ditetapkan 63. Abstract

Pineapple propagation by lateral shoots, suckers or crowns is often confronted with limited number of regenerated seedlings and high diversity in flowering and fruit formation. In order to solve this problem, this study offer an alternative method by using tissue culture techniques. This study aimed to determine the effect of growth regulators on plantlet regeneration from bud slicing of pineapple cv. Tangkit. Four levels of 2.4-D (0.0, 0.001, 0.01 and 0.1 ppm) in combination with BA (0.0, 0.1, 1.0 and 10.0 ppm) were tested on solid MS medium. Cultures were incubated in total darkness for a week followed by transfer to 16-hour photoperiod. Results showed that explants treated with 2,4-D and/or BA succeeded in regenerating adventitious shoots. Average leaf number did not differ significantly among treatments (P = 0.60). Highest leaf number (2.99 ± 0.23) was obtained on medium with 0.01 ppm 2,4-D without BA, followed by 0.1 ppm 2,4-D without BA (2.85 ± 0.33). Meanwhile, roots were only formed on medium with 0.1 ppm 2.4-D without BA (4.2 ± 0.37 per shoot). Thus, complete plantlets were regenerated only on medium supplemented with 0.1 ppm 2,4-D without BA. The growth of plantlets was relatively uniform, and plantlet acclimatization succeeded 100% on Jiffy pots. The finding of optimum concentration of 2.4-D and BA in this study is important to develop standard protocol for in vitro propagation of pineapple cv. Tangkit. Thus, the benefit of producing seeds in large quantities and relatively uniform in growth is made possible through tissue culture technique.

Abstract

Salah satu bentuk keterampilan yang harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik adalah keterampilan menulis. Namun, pada saat ini keterampilan menulis peserta didik ssngat rendah. Salah satu penyebab rendahnya keterampilan menulis peserta didik adalah bahan ajar yang digunakan masih minim. Materi yang akan diajarkan kepada peserta didik eblum semuanya tercakup dalam bahan ajar. Untuk mengatasi demikian perlu adanya pembuatan bahan ajar yang oleh guru sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik dan dibantu dengan teknik yang dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Taknik yang sesuai untuk keterampilan menulis peserta didik adalah teknik mind mapping. Teknik mind mapping adalah teknik yang terdiri atas pola - pola pemikiran dan kemudian dikembangkan kedalam bentuk tulisan narasi.  Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas V SDN 04 Lembah Melintang Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Abstract

Kasang Kota Karang is a village located in Kumpeh Ulu Subdistrict, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province, where most residents engage in vegetable and fruit farming. However, local farmers face challenges such as suboptimal crop growth and yields, as well as high infestation rates of plant pests and diseases, particularly in red chili cultivation. In response, a community service team from the University of Jambi collaborated with farmers through dialogue and participatory discussions to identify a potential solution: utilizing the abundant fruit and vegetable waste available in the farming area to produce Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) and biopesticides. This program aimed to enhance farmers' knowledge and skills in waste processing technology and to improve their income through the potential commercialization of LOF and biopesticide products. The approach used was Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), emphasizing active engagement of the farming partners throughout the implementation process. Evaluation results indicated a significant increase in farmers’ understanding and technical capabilities, with over 90% demonstrating improved proficiency. The farming partners expressed strong enthusiasm and commitment to applying and scaling up the use of LOF and biopesticides in their vegetable farming practices, contributing to better crop yields, increased income, and improved environmental health

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the optimization of Ultisol soil using biochar and compost to increase nodule formation and performance of soybeans. The trial was conducted at the Research and Teaching Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi, for six months from April through to October 2021. Three levels of compost (5 t ha-1, 10 t ha-1, and 15 t ha-1) were tested in combination with three levels of biochar (5 t ha-1, 10 t ha-1, and      15 t ha-1). A completely randomized design was employed with three replications. Each experimental unit consisted of 20 plants, and 25% of the population was taken as sample plants. Results indicated that the application of soil ameliorant in the form of Tithonia compost and biochar could increase soil pH and nutrient contents and reduce C/N ratio. Tithonia compost + biochar improved Ultisol productivity as indicated by increased nodule formation and soybean growth. The combination of Tithonia compost and biochar, each of 15 t ha-1, was the best combination for the optimization of Ultisol, which produced the highest biological nitrogen fixation rate and resulted in the best soybean growth.

Abstract

The development and increase of shallot production in Ultisol dry land is hampered by its relatively low fertility.  Efforts that can be made are by adding organic material derived from plants such as Tithonia diversifolia (paitan/kipahit/insulin leaf) which is composted by adding trichoderma, to increase the soil's ability to hold water, increasing soil organic carbon,  soil nutrient availability, and  growth, and crop yields. The use of tithonia trichocompost as a soil ameliorant can not only increase soil fertility but also reduce the use of NPK fertilizer. This research aims to examine the effect of a combination of tithonia trichocompost and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of shallots.  Research location at Teaching and Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University (35 m above sea level). The research used a Randomized Block Design with five combination treatments of tithonia trichocompost  and NPK fertilizer (percentage based on recommended dose), namely: 0% tithonia trichocompost + 100% NPK; 25% tithonia trichocompost + 75% NPK; 50%  tithonia trichocompost + 50% NPK; 75% tithonia  trichocompost  + 25% NPK; 100% tithonia trichocompost. The recommended dose used is 20 tonha-1 tithonia trichocompost and 400 kgha-1 NPK fertilizer (16:16:16). The research was repeated five times. The research results showed that various combinations of tithonia trichocompost and NPK fertilizer that were tried increased plant growth and yield, and as the percentage of tithonia trichocompost increased, plant growth and yield increased. 100% tithonia trichocompost gave the highest yield, 44.123 g per hill or 7.7 tons ha-1 (if land use efficiency was 70% with a plant spacing of 20 cm x 20 cm). Although this yield is lower than the potential yield of shallots, which is 9.5 tonha-1, the use tithonia trichocompost as a soil ameliorant can replace NPK fertilizer.Keywords: ameliorant, organic matter, Ultisol dry land, water avaibility

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of Biotin vitamin on the growth of in vitro shoot explants from Barangan and Cavendish banana varieties and to determine the optimal Biotin concentration. The research employed tissue culture techniques using Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium and a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a total of 144 culture bottles. The results indicate that the addition of Biotin significantly influences the growth of both varieties. The Cavendish variety exhibited a better response than Barangan, with a Biotin concentration of 2.5 ppm yielding the best results in terms of shoot number, shoot length, and faster shoot formation time. Meanwhile, for the Barangan variety, a concentration of 0.5 ppm accelerated shoot formation, while a concentration of 2 ppm resulted in the highest shoot number and length. The conclusion of this study suggests that higher Biotin concentrations can enhance the growth of shoot explants, particularly in the Cavendish variety. These findings may serve as a basis for the more efficient development of banana seedlings through in vitro methods. Further research is necessary to evaluate the efficiency during the acclimatization stage in the field.

Abstract

Ecoprint is a fabric colouring technique that is done through direct contact by printing. The ecoprint technique is done by utilising plant parts. Nyogan Village, Jambi is a green area with many fallen leaves that are not utilised. The fallen leaves only become garbage that is wasted by burning. The implementation of community service activities is carried out with a participatory approach, so that the target audience can play an active role in every activity and problem solving. The delivery method is through an andragogy approach so that it is expected that there will be incentive-based interaction between the participants and the implementation team. The initial steps of the activity through preparation include determining the extension schedule and extension location in Nyogan Village. The implementation of the activity began with the socialisation of the introduction of ecoprint batik with jernang resin to PKK mothers and the community in Nyogan Village, providing questions and answers about ecoprint batik, the socialisation provided included an explanation of the technique of making ecoprint batik with jernang resin and the preparation of tools and materials in making ecoprint batik. The results of the service show that the service participants, namely PKK mothers, are motivated to create new batik creations so that they become community members who care about the environment by utilising plant materials from the yard productively through the ecoprint batik business.

Abstract

Kelompok Tani Binas Lestari merupakan salah satu kelompok tani yang terdapat di Desa Kasang Kota Karang, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi. Sebagian dari   penduduk di desa ini (kurang lebih sekitar 50%) berusaha tani sayuran. Jenis sayuran yang diusahakan meliputi cabai merah, ketimun, pare, kacang panjang, tomat, dan buncis.  Dalam berusahatani sayuran permasalahan yang sering ditemui oleh petani adalah hasil tanaman sayuran yang tidak optimal, Organisme Penggangu Tanaman (OPT) yang semakin meningkat, dan kesuburan lahan yang semakin menurun, serta semakin meningkatnya penggunaan bahan agrokimia seperti pupuk dan pestisida. Berdasarkan hal ini maka tim PPM berdiskusi dengan petani dan menemukan solusinya yaitu mengolah bonggol pisang yang cukup banyak tersedia di lokasi pertanaman mereka untuk dijadikan MOL (Mikro Organisme Lokal). Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani terhadap teknologi “3 BIO” MOL bonggol pisang (biofertilizer; biostimulan; dan biopestisida), dan peningkatan pendapatan petani dengan kemampuan yang dimiliki untuk mengembangkan MoL bonggol pisang dalam skala komersial. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan adalah participatory rural appraisal, yang mengutamakan partisipasi aktif mitra selama proses kegiatan. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan mitra/petani sebesar 92,86% tentang teknologi yang diterapkan. Mitra sangat antusias dan siap mengembangkan teknologi pengolahan bonggol pisang menjadi MoL untuk usaha tani sayuran mereka, guna meningkatkan hasil tanaman, meningkatkan pendapatan dan meningkatkan kesehatan lingkungan.
