Abstract

Seagrass ecosystem is one of the shallow marine ecosystems that plays an important role in supporting the life and development of organisms in shallow seas, namely as a primary producer, habitat for biota, capturing sediment and nutrients in the waters. This study aims to determine the diversity and density of seagrass species in the waters of Tontayuo Village. This research was conducted in April-August 2022. Observation of the diversity and density of seagrass species used the 1 x 1 meter sample plot method. The research location is divided into three stations based on the presence of seagrass. Data analysis includes density and diversity index. The observation results show that the area of seagrass is 1.2 Ha. Eight species of seagrass found in this area consist of Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea serrulata, Syringrodium isoetifolium, Halodule pinifolia, Halodule uninervis, Halophila minor, Halophila ovalis and Cymodocea rotundata. All of these seagrass species have a very dense density. However, the diversity of seagrass species in this area is low.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tren jangka panjang suhu permukaan laut (SPL) dan respons spasial terhadap ENSO di Teluk Tomini, Laut Maluku/Seram, dan Laut Sulawesi menggunakan data NOAA Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature (NOAA CDR OISST v2.1) periode 2003–2023 dengan validasi data 2024–2025. Analisis regresi linier menunjukkan tren pemanasan signifikan di seluruh wilayah dengan laju 0,025–0,033 °C tahun⁻¹. Analisis korelasi mengungkap heterogenitas respons yang kontras; Laut Maluku/Seram menunjukkan korelasi negatif yang signifikan (r = -0,499) terhadap indeks ONI, mengkonfirmasi perannya sebagai jalur transmisi sinyal Pasifik. Sebaliknya, Teluk Tomini dan Laut Sulawesi menunjukkan korelasi yang lemah, mengindikasikan dominasi faktor oseanografi lokal. Validasi terhadap data aktual 2024–2025 menunjukkan deviasi suhu yang berada sedikit di bawah garis tren prediksi, menandakan adanya modulasi variabilitas antartahun terhadap pemanasan jangka panjang. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa strategi adaptasi perikanan di kawasan ini memerlukan pendekatan spesifik lokasi yang mengintegrasikan indikator iklim global dan dinamika lokal.

Abstract

The concentration of three heavy metals Pb, Cd and Hg ware measured in Bone River, Gorontalo sediment. The heavy metal pollution on sediment in Bone River have not been explored longitudinally. The samples were taken in July 2021 at 8 stations. The trend of metals ware observed in sediment as PbCdHg. The level of studied metals Cd and Hg did not exceed the safe limit by ANZECC, OSQG LEL and CCME TEL meanwhile Pb was met the limit by by ANZECC. However, the investigated showed that fluctuations due to differences in the characteristics of each location. Contamination factor (CF) and geoaccumulation index (Igeo) demonstrated that the sediment samples were low contamination and lightly polluted. Contamination by heavy metals in the Bone River implies that the conditions are much frightening for the biota and residents around the river.
