Abstract

Sustainable leadership of the principal as a leadership style that focuses on improving andimplementing professional tasks in the school including for a teacher to lead is related to oneanother. To create a teacher leadership process and implementation, it is always related to how aleader behaves and makes improvements every time for long-term goals. Sustainable leadershippractices are considered to often contribute to teacher leadership practices in schools (Cook,2014). In parallel, a descriptive research survey was conducted to identify sustainable leadershippractices of principals and correlations of levels of teacher leadership practices. This researchinvolved junior high school woha bima NTB Indonesia. The population of respondents in thisstudy were all senior teachers, amounting to 85 people. Data were analyzed using scores, standard deviations and person correlations. Data were collected using a questionnaire developedand modified by the theory of sustainable leadership established by Hargreaves and Fink (2006)and the theory of teacher leadership by Ktzenmeyer & Moller (2001). The results of the studyfound that the sustainable leadership of the principal has a strong positive relationship at thesignificant level of p> 0,000 between the sustainable leadership of the principal and theleadership of the teacher at SMP Woha Bima, NTB. The Pearson value of r = 0.719 indicates thatsustainable leadership practices have a strong enough relationship with the level of teacherleadership practices in SMP Negeri Woha District, Bima Regency, NTB. Thus, the results of theperson correlation test study showed a significant relationship between sustainable teacherleadership practices and teacher leadership.

Abstract

Research capacity is a critical component of educational quality improvement, particularly in developing regions where teachers, school leaders, and higher education practitioners often face limited opportunities for structured research training. This community service program aimed to strengthen the research capacity of teachers, principals, lecturers, and graduate students in the Pedagogy Master’s Program at STKIP Tamansiswa Bima through a structured capacity-building intervention titled Modern Research Mastery. The program employed workshops, mentoring, and guided research practice to enhance participants’ competencies in research design, academic writing, and publication. This study reports the implementation and outcomes of the program using a qualitative descriptive approach supported by program evaluation data. The conceptual framework integrated capacity-building theory, adult learning principles, and research competency development models. The results indicate significant improvements in participants’ research knowledge, skills, and productivity. Participants demonstrated enhanced understanding of research methodology, increased motivation for conducting research, and improved ability to develop research proposals and scholarly manuscripts. Institutional benefits included strengthened research culture and collaborative networks. The findings suggest that structured capacity-building programs with mentoring components are effective strategies for improving educational research competencies in developing educational institutions. The study contributes to the literature on community service–based professional development and provides practical implications for scaling research capacity-building initiatives in similar contexts.

Abstract

Political literacy among university students has become a pressing concern in the age of digital democracy, yet the way it is currently taught often falls short. This study set out to develop and test an AI-Assisted Case-Based Learning (AI-CBL) model for the Introduction to Political Science course at STKIP Taman Siswa Bima. We followed the three-phase Plomp development model: preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment. Participants included three expert validators, three course lecturers, and 32 first-year students from the 2024/2025 academic year. We gathered data through validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and a political literacy test, then analysed them using descriptive statistics, percentage scoring, and the N-Gain formula. Four findings stand out. First, the model proved highly valid, with a mean expert score of 3.84 on a 4-point scale. Second, the feasibility check returned an average index of 91.5%, placing the model in the "highly feasible" range. Third, both lecturers (89.7%) and students (88.4%) rated the model as highly practical. Fourth, students' political literacy improved sharply, with a mean N-Gain of 0.62 and 65.6% of them reaching the high-gain category. Taken together, these results suggest that AI-CBL works as a valid, feasible, practical, and effective approach for strengthening political literacy in higher education. The model also offers a concrete way of bringing generative AI into political education without sidelining the deliberative, case-based reasoning that the field requires.
