Abstract

Abstract

Kampar River has a large diversity of fish fauna, one of which is the Mystus nigriceps in the Kampar KiriRiver. Fish is used by the community as a consumption and economic need. Increasing the need, makingfishermen catch fish continuously which results in a decrease in the population of fish in the river. Thepurpose of the study was to find out the type of natural food of Mystus nigriceps in the Kampar River KiriMentulik Village. Sampling in February-July 2021 from fishermen's catches using nets or tempirai andobservations were conducted at the Zoology Laboratory majoring in Biology. The results of the studyobtained the main food is insect, complementary foods are fish, and supplemental foods are not identified.Based on the data obtained, Mystus nigriceps is a type of carnivorous fish.

Abstract

The Kampar Kiri River is a stream of the Kampar River which has a role as a fresh fish resource, generally the fish species found are consumption fish so that this river becomes one of the centers of fishery production in Riau as well as transportation, bathing, washing toilets, agriculture and house waste disposal. stairs. This greatly affects the availability of fish resources in the Kampar Kiri River, one of which is the Bagridae family. Available data and complete information, as well as continuous data collection from year to year regarding the types of Bagridae family fish in the waters of the Kampar Kiri River are still very lacking, so it is necessary to conduct research on the inventory of the Bagridae family fish in the Kampar Kiri River. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of the Bagridae family fish in the waters of the Kampar Kiri River, Pekanbaru, Riau Province. Fish samples were collected from local fishermen from January to November 2018. Fish were identified in the Zoology Laboratory of the Biology Department, Riau University. The fish found consisted of 5 species and 2 genera, namely the genus Bagroides and Mystus, B. melanopterus (25) individuals, M. nigriceps (65) individuals, M. nemurus (27) individuals, M. micracanthus (60) individuals, M. wyckii. (1) individual.

Abstract

Siak River is one of the main rivers in Riau Province which is a source of water for people living around it, both for household, fisheries, industrial and transportation purposes. In addition, the Siak River is also a habitat for various aquatic biota, one of which is fish species from the Bagridae family. This study aims to determine the number of fish species of the Bagridae family based on morphological characters in the waters of the Siak River, Riau Province. This research was conducted in December 2022-February 2023. The method used in this research is survey method. Identification of fish samples was carried out at the Zoology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Riau University. The results of the study found a total of 239 individuals from the Bagridae family consisting of 3 genus namely the genus Bagroides, Hemibagrus, Mystus, and 4 species namely Bagroides melapterus (29) individuals, Hemibagrus nemurus (143) individuals, Mystus nigriceps (55) individuals, and Mystus gulio (12) individuals. The most common Bagridae family fish species was Hemibagrus nemurus (60%), while the least common Bagridae family fish species was Mystus gulio (5%).

Abstract

The study aims to possibility of using morphometric characters to see differences between male and female fish Kryptopterus bicirrhis in Kampar river. This research was conducted in November 2018 – Maret 2019 using the survey method. The number of samples obtained was 60 Kryptopterus bicirrhis 30 male fish had a total length 113-155 mm and 30 female fish had a total length range 130-170 mm. Kryptopterus bicirrhis have most of the growth satus of positive allometric in male and female. Relationship between the total length and morphometric characters shows very weak, weak medium, strong, and very strong.
