Abstract

The development of sugar industries in Indonesia is influenced by the capability of increasing sugar productivity every year. This increasing is important to handle problem that happened. One of the solutions of the problem, such as sugar loss and inefficiency energy was application of the cleaner production. PG. Tersana Baru have been doing efforts to minimize fuel consumption in milling station. This research objective were to design a processing improvement in milling station through cleaner production approach strategy in reducing sugar loss and increasing energy (steam and fuel) uses efficiency and to build a dynamic model on the influence of imbibitions water to water content of bagasse and sucrose content in milling station at PT. PG. Rajawali II Unit PG. Tersana Baru, West Java. The results of this research indicated a potency for application of a cleaner production approach in PG. Tersana Baru based data collected during 2007 milling season, of which the optimum of imbibitions water was 22.64 %. That condition was achieved in the 8th period of production with fuel energy consumption of 298,466 kcals/ton sugar cane. At this condition, there was possibility for annual energy consumption to be reached by 227,418 kcal/ton sugar cane or equivalent to Rp 764,184,666,153.00. The addition of water imbibitions at the milling process in the dynamic system simulation model was carried out at the interval of 21.20 – 35%. The results in water contents of bagasse of 49.21 – 62.74% and its sucrose contents of 0 – 5.18%.Keywords: Cleaner Production Approach, Imbibitions Water, Efficiency Energy Consumption, Dynamic System Simulation Model

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of climate change on the productivity of rice farming businesses, know the knowledge, attitudes, and adaptability to climate change, and present a review and criticism analysis for product updates related to climate change. The study respondents numbered 100 rice farmers in Lampung Province. The processed data is analyzed by using descriptive statistics, using Crosstabs analysis to calculate the frequency and percentage of two or more variables at once while to see the influence of farmer behavior is using path analysis. The results of this study showed that the impact of climate change greatly affects rice farming businesses which leads to a decrease in the productivity of farmers' rice farming businesses. The lack of knowledge of farmers about climate change and the attitude of farmers in dealing with climate change are great concern, but in the follow-up to curiosity and problem solving tends to be less, this is due to farmers less enthusiastic in determining the attitude of climate change. The level of adaptation of farmers to climate change only occurs when determining planting time, so it needs to increase the power due to climate change. Recommendations from these results, among others, related to regulations that require renewal. This update obtained two perspectives, namely the legal perspective and the perspective of the development of the climate issue itself.

Abstract

ishermen are one part of the community members who have the lowest level of welfare. The COVID-19 pandemic is an event that causes the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 around the world. The pandemic has caused global socio-economic disruption, the postponement or cancellation of sporting and cultural events, and widespread concern about stock shortages driving panic buying. A household is said to have food security if its inhabitants are not in a state of hunger or feel threatened by hunger. The linkages between the lives of coastal communities and fishermen in Lampung Province are quite concerning, coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic requiring special treatment to improve their welfare and standard of living, one of which is by increasing food security for coastal communities and fishermen. The most appropriate effort is to carry out a post-COVID-19 Pandemic Food Security Strategy modeling for Coastal Community and Fisherman Households in Lampung Province. The research was carried out from April to September 2022 in Labuhan Maringai subdistrict, East Lampung Regency. Sampling was done purposively. The data collected from the survey results have been analyzed statistically descriptive and inferential. The level of food security for the respondent's family is in the moderate category, meaning that the respondent can provide, reach and use it quite well but not optimally. The community has not been able to ensure that the food security component can run consistently at any time. This happens because the income of fishing households is very unpredictable, this can also determine the ability of the family to provide food. The influence of the education level of a housewife has an indirect effect through her nutritional knowledge. Food knowledge has a more direct influence on food security, meaning that the knowledge of housewives related to food is the basis for action in realizing food security at the family level.

Abstract

Solid waste has always been a problem for developing countries. In Bandar Lampung, the traditional market is the second largest contributor of solid waste, after households. Data for Traditional Market Solid Waste (TMSW) composition and generation rate in Bandar Lampung is rarely found, even though, data is needed to write the policy for TMSW management and its recycling potential. This research aims to provide data on TMSW composition, generation rate and chararacteristic in Bandar Lampung, also its recycling potential. The sample from 10 of 31 traditional markets in Bandar Lampung is collected for 8 consecutive days in morning and afternoon. Then, the sample was processed to obtain its composition, generation and density. 48.06% of TMSW compositions is donated by vegetable. Meanwhile, metal is rarely found in traditional markets, with only 0.37%. The average density of TMSW is 180.11 kg/m3, while Kangkung Market has the highest density with 237.84 kg/m3 and Cimeng Market has the lowest TMSW density with 123.07 kg/m3. The generation rate of TMSW is 53,602.35 kg/day. Biodegradable wastes from traditional markets in Bandar Lampung, with 53% water contents, can be potentially recycled by composting and/or anaerobic digester because of its economic value and characteristic. Keywords:   Recycling, Solid Waste Management, Traditional Market Solid Waste, Waste Characterization
