Abstract

Exploration carried out in the filosphere area (leaves) and rhizosphere area (roots) in upland rice plants to get the type of microbes that have potential that can be utilized as biological fertilizer sources, such as N2 fastening microbes, plant growth microbes or phosphate solvent microbial as well as those acting as natural enemies. The research was conducted by location survey method. Determination of location is done by purposive sampling, which is the location of upland rice cultivated by farmers in Kulawi District. The results showed that 10 isolates were isolated from epiphytic and endophytic microbes and endophytes. Morphological tests showed differences in color, shape, elevation, edge, texture and size and the coloring test showed that the bacteria had Coccus cell forms, Bacill, Diplococcus and Semi-Bacillus.

Abstract

The cultivation of rare and or wild medicinal plants is one of the strategies to make it easier when needed and also to produce quality simplicia. The partner village program aims to assist the community in carrying out medicinal plant cultivation. The community service activities were carried out in the conservation area of ​​medicinal plants and in the residents' yards in Pakuli Village and lasted for 4 months, from March 2020 to July 2020. The method applied was counseling and technical guidance. The results of the activities showed that the training and technology demonstration were well implemented and were accepted by the community. Counseling activities increase knowledge that is characterized by increased skills when practicing medicinal plants. Species that are cultivated in conservation areas are those that grow wild and rare, while in people's yards it is the species most widely used as medicine and which is of economic value.

Abstract

Potensi keanekaragaman tumbuhan liar yang bermanfaat sebagai obat-obatan masih banyak diabaikan oleh masyarakat. Permasalahan ini terjadi antara lain karena pengetahuan yang dimiliki masyarakat masih tergolong rendah. Program pengembangan desa mitra bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pertisipasi masyarakat dalam mendukung tercapainya pusat konservasi tumbuhan obat (TO) di Sulawesi Tengah. Metode yang diterapkan adalah community development atau pengembangan masyarakat dengan langkah-langkah operasional adalah pembentukan kebun konservasi dan klinik tumbuhan obat dengan sasaran mengusahakan sebanyak mungkin tumbuhan yang berpotensi sebagai tumbuhan obat tradisional sebagai sumber plasma nutfa agar tidak punah dan menjadi sumber informasi. Hasil pelaksanaan pelatihan teknik konservasi tumbuhan obat untuk mendukung progam penyediaan obat herbal di Sulawesi Tengah kepada masyarakat di Desa Pakuli Kecamatan Gumbasa berlangsung dengan baik dan dapat diadopsi oleh masyarakat yang diindikasikan dengan kegiatan penanaman tumbuhan obat oleh masyarakat di halaman pekarangan rumah masing-masing. Pelaksanaan penyuluhan yang diikuti sebanyak 35 orang peserta dari 2 kelompok mitra dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat yang ditandai dengan meningkatnya ketrampilan pada saat praktek budidaya tumbuhan obat, baik yang dilaksanakan di areal konservasi maupun di lahan pekarangan. Dengan konservasi tumbuhan obat terutama yang tergolong langka, maka masyarakat dapat mendekatkan diri dengan tumbuhan obat langka tersebut untuk kepentingan penyediaan obat herbal bagi anggota keluarganya

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the quality characteristics (physical, chemical, microbiological and organoleptic) of pre-storage Palu fried onions before storage and to identify factors affecting the quality characteristics. To achieve the purpose of the study a series of activities was conducted including selection/determination of samplse, identification and analysis of physical, chemical, microbiological and organoleptic components of 10 selected samples of fried onions. The results showed the lowest value for water content (1.88%) was in the sample I, oil (30.64%) in the sample H, ALB (0.17%) in the samples B, C and G, minerals (2.51% ) in the sample F, KBC (7.99%) in the sample C, and total microbes (10 colonies / g) in the samples E and J. The most crispy texture (F max 0.12 N) was in the sample I. The highest value for the aroma score (3.33) was in the sample E, taste (3.97) in the sample D, crunchiness (4.07) and preference (3.80) in the sample B.  The highest quality characteristics of fried onions before the storage was found in the sample B and I,  followed by samples D, E, G, C, J, A, H, and F, respectively. The factors affecting the quality characteristics of Palu fried onion  before storage included (1) the level of mixed materials used was still very high, (2) continous reusing of oil, (3) uncontrollable frying temperature, (4) short time for reducing oil content, and (5) thin and not airtight packaging materials.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the dynamics of Lembah Palu shallot varietygrowth under various rates of organic fertilizer and different intervals of sprinkle watering systems. The research was conducted in Bulupountu Jaya village, SigiBiromarusub district, Sigi district of Central Sulawesi province from October to January 2014. The experiment was conducted using Split Plot design in which the main plots were watering intervals (one hour watering for every three days and one hour watering for every six days) and sub plots were 40 t/ha organic fetilizer applications (green leaf and manure bokashi).Plant parameters oberved were total leaf area, dry plant weight, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate and leaf area ratio.  The research results showed that there was no significant interaction effect between the watering intervals and the bokashi on the growth and yield of the shallots and individually the effect of the watering intervals was not significant as well.  Whereas, individually the bokashi was found to significantly affected the dry weight of Lembah Palu shallot variety plant at 40 days after planting. Keywords: Lembah Palu shallot, Organic fertilizers, and Watering.

Abstract

Increased rice production carried out by rice cultivation in dry land faces constraints of vulnerability to climate change, especially drought that can reduce production. This study aims to determine the results of some local upland rice cultivars and also their tolerance to drought stress. The study was conducted at the green house, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu, from September 2018 to February 2019. This research was an experimental design research with a completely randomized design (RAL) factorial pattern. The first factor is the cultivar (K) of rice consisting of 4 namely Taku Rice, Uva Rice, Jahara Rice and Delima Rice. The second factor is drought stress (C) in the form of water supply based on field capacity consisting of four treatment levels of 100%, 85%, 70% and C3: 55%. The treatment of drought stress resulted in an increase in the percentage of empty grains, a decrease in the number of panicle grains and crop yields. The highest crop yields found in Delima rice cultivars were significantly different from Jahara rice but not significantly different from Taku and Uva rice. This is in line with the stress sensitivity index where Jahara rice is indicated to be vulnerable to drought stress.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the drought tolerance of different local upland rice cultivars under various watering intervals. The research was conducted at the Greenhouse of Plant Breeding, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu, from June to August 2020. A two-factorial completely randomized design was used. The first factor was the rice cultivar, comprising three types: Pulu Tau Leru, Jahara, and Uva Buya. The second factor was the watering interval, with five level watering: daily (P1), every other day (P2), every two days (P3), every three days (P4), and every four days (P5). This resulted in 15 treatment combinations, each replicated four times, totaling 60 experimental units. Observed parameters included plant height, leaf length, leaf curl, and number of tillers. The results indicated that the growth of the different local upland rice cultivars was significantly affected by the watering intervals across all observed parameters.

Abstract

Berbagai penelitian menunjukan bahwa limbah kelapa sawit dapat bermanfaan untuk berbagai kebutuhan, salah satunya yaitu tandan kosong kelapa sawit yang dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk organik yang memiliki kandungan unsur hara untuk tanah dan tanaman.Penelitian mengenai pengaruh bokashi limbah tandan kosong kelapa sawit terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill) dilaksanakan di Desa Lelejae Kabupaten Mamuju Utara provinsi Sulawesi Barat dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis bokashi limbah tandan kelapa sawit yang baik pada pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok satu faktor, perlakuan adalah dosis pupuk bokashi limbah sawit terdiri atas 9 taraf, yaitu: 1). kontrol : tanpa pemberian pupuk. Dosis pupuk bokasi limbah sawit 10 ton/ha (50g/tanaman), 2). Dosis pupuk bokasi limbah sawit 20 ton/ha (100 g/tanaman), 3). Dosis pupuk bokasi limbah sawit 30 ton/ha (150 g/tanaman), 4). Dosis pupuk limbah sawit 40 ton/ha (200 g/tanaman), 5). Dosis pupuk limbah sawit 50 ton/ha (250g/tanaman), 6). Dosis pupuk limbah sawit 60 ton/ha (300g/tanaman), 7). Dosis pupuk limbah sawit 70 ton/ha (350 g/tanaman), 8). Dosis pupuk limbah sawit 80 ton/ha (400 g/tanaman). Setiap perlakuan di ulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga terdapat 27 unit percobaan, setiap unit percobaan diwakili oleh dua tanaman, dengan demikian keseluruhan terdapat 54 tanaman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pupuk bokashi limbah tandan kelapa sawit pada dosis 10 ton/ha setara 50 g/tanaman menunjukan dosis terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat.

Abstract

Teknologi pemupukan merupakan salah satu faktor penentu dalam meningkatkan hasil panen dan juga sebagai upaya memenuhi kebutuhan pangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mendapatkan dosis pupuk NPK yang baik pada setiap kosentrasi POC terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil padi gogo lokal kultivar dongan, untuk mendapatkan dosis pupuk NPK yang meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil padi gogo lokal kultivar dongan, dan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi POC yang meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil padi gogo lokal kultivar Dongan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan pertanian Desa Tamarenja (Kalama) dengan letak lintang LS 00o26’51.4 BT 119o 49’50.5 Kecamatan Sindue Tobata, Kabupaten Donggala, Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah, dengan ketinggian tempat 185-250 mdpl. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Pupuk NPK dosis 300 kg ha-1 dan POC 60 ml/L memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang baik pada tanaman padi gogo lokal kultivar dongan, Pupuk NPK 300 kg ha-1 memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman padi gogo kultivar dongan yang ditunjukan oleh tinggi tanaman 9 dan 11 MST lebih tinggi, jumlah daun lebih banyak, daun lebih panjang, daun lebih lebar, umur keluar malai lebih cepat, jumlah gabah lebih banyak, gabah semakin bernas, dan produksi ton per hektar lebih tinggi dan POC kosentrasi 60 ml/L meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tnaman padi gogo kultivar dongan yang ditunjukan oleh umur keluar malai lebih cepat, gabah lebih lebar, presentase gabah hampa rendah, dan bobot 1000 biji lebih berat.
