Abstract

This study is motivated by the fact that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Social Studies at madrasahs has not yet run optimally. This is indicated by teachers’ limited understanding, the lack of relevant training, as well as constraints in facilities and digital literacy. The study aims to examine the management of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation in Social Studies at MTsN 1 Bireuen and MTsN 2 Bireuen, covering planning, organizing, implementation, supervision, and the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of the principals, vice principals for curriculum affairs, Social Studies teachers, madrasah supervisors, and the Head of the Madrasah Education Section (Kasi Penmad) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Bireuen Regency. The findings show that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum has been fairly effective through collaborative planning, contextual learning, and developmental academic supervision. However, several challenges remain, including uneven teacher competence, limited ICT facilities, administrative workload, and low levels of digital literacy. In conclusion, the success of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation is strongly influenced by participatory leadership, collaboration among all members of the madrasah community, and continuous improvement of teacher competence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the community's perception of the implementation of PT. BEL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in Seunagan District, Nagan Raya Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, in which researchers seek to understand the experiences and views of the Ring 1 community regarding the implementation of the company's CSR program. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with community leaders, village officials, and program beneficiaries. The results of the study indicate that the community has a positive perception of PT. BEL's CSR program because it is considered to provide a real contribution to improving welfare, especially in the fields of education, health, social, and economics. However, the implementation of CSR is considered uneven and unsustainable because it still relies on proposals from the village government and there is a lack of transparency and coordination between the company and the local government. The implementation of PT. BEL's CSR program is also still short-term and does not have clear continuity, so its benefits have not been felt comprehensively by the community. Therefore, improved coordination, strategic planning, and periodic evaluation are needed so that CSR implementation can be more effective, inclusive, and sustainable in supporting the social and economic development of the communities around the company's operational areas.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect of learning in elementary school because it plays an important role in shaping students' social skills and emotional intelligence from an early age. Global developments and rapid technological advances require students to not only excel academically, but also have good social interaction skills, empathy, emotional control, and a responsible attitude. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of character education in learning and its contribution to improving the social skills and emotional intelligence of elementary school students. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects include elementary school teachers and students, with data collection techniques through observation, and interviews. The results of the study show that the implementation of character education is carried out in an integrated manner in learning activities, school culture, and teacher examples through character values such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, empathy, and honesty. The application of active, collaborative, and reflective learning strategies has been proven to be able to improve social interaction between students and their ability to recognize, manage, and express emotions positively. In addition, the support of the school environment and the role of teachers as character models make a significant contribution to the successful implementation of character education. The conclusion of this study confirms that character education implemented consistently and systematically can improve the social skills and emotional intelligence of elementary school students. Therefore, character education needs to continue to be developed as an integral part of learning to form students who are characterful, empathetic, and able to adapt in social life.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of entrepreneurial management by primary school principals in addressing the limitations of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funding in Bireuen District, Aceh, Indonesia. Using a qualitative multiple case study design, the research explores how two public primary schools—SDN 8 Peusangan and SDN 18 Peusangan—develop and sustain entrepreneurship-based financial models under resource constraints. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed thematically with the aid of NVivo 12 software. The findings reveal that transformational leadership plays a central role in mobilizing internal resources, stimulating innovation, and fostering collective participation in entrepreneurial initiatives. Entrepreneurial programs such as canteens, herbal gardens, and school bazaars generated an average of 5.3% additional income relative to BOS funds and contributed to improving educational quality and financial transparency. Through the lens of the Resource-Based View (RBV), effectuation theory, and stakeholder theory, the study identifies dynamic capabilities in sensing and seizing opportunities, as well as building multi-level stakeholder collaboration for sustainable school financing. This research extends the literature by developing an integrative “Transformative-Effectual Model” that links transformational leadership with entrepreneurial management and dynamic capabilities within the context of basic education. Unlike prior studies that focus on higher education entrepreneurship, this study empirically demonstrates how elementary schools can transform limited resources into value-creating ventures, offering a replicable framework for education systems in developing regions. The results have implications for policy on hybrid school financing, leadership development, and innovation in public education governance.
