Abstract

In 2019, the government has taken policies as an effort to optimally handle the Covid-19 storm so that it does not spread widely. The pattern of transmission of the Covid-19 virus can be through the air and can be transmitted if health protocols are not carried out properly. The level of incidence of Covid-19 has become a major problem for all communities in various regions in Indonesia, including in the Parigi area of Parigi Moutong Regency. In the last week, it was discovered that a new variant of Covid-19, the "Omicron" type, has been endemic in various regions. The preliminary observations show that 75% of the public do not understand the ways and benefits of consistently implementing the Covid-19 health protocol, and 62% do not understand the risks faced if they are not disciplined with the Covid-19 health protocol. To anticipate the rate of spread of the Covid-19 virus, it is important to educate the public regarding health protocols. This activity has been carried out from June 12 to 18, 2021, using the Focus Group Discussion Method (FGD). The target is 5 health cadres and 75 people. This activity was carried out in Salabia Village, Tinombo District, Parigi Moutong Regency. This education regarding the implementation of the Covid-19 health protocol was enthusiastically welcomed by the public and health cadres. This activity is carried out to ensure that the public and health cadres are broad-minded so that they can independently implement the COVID-19 health protocol correctly with discipline and consistency.

Abstract

United Nations & AIDS (UNAIDS) in 2019 stated that 38 million individuals in the world were suffering from human immunodeficiency virus or HIV. Since it was discovered in 1987, the number of HIV cases in Indonesia until mid-2020 was 436,948 cases, of which 64,990 people have died. This study aims to assess the quality of health services with the service quality (SERVQUAL) analysis model on voluntary HIV counseling and testing. A quantitative study was conducted with a descriptive observational analytic approach and a cross-sectional design on 120 respondents. The variables were measured using a service quality questionnaire and Likert scale. The results showed a difference between the expectations and perceptions of respondents on the service quality of voluntary HIV counseling and testing. The statistical analysis (p=0.000) shows that the health services for voluntary HIV counseling and testing have poor quality. However, the respondents gave good scores on responsiveness and assurance of the services. Managers and relevant authorities need to plan and pay special attention to other yet optimal variables.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant nutritional issue among children under five in various regions of Indonesia, including Beka Village, Marawola District, Sigi Regency. Stunting is influenced by several indirect factors, including environmental sanitation, clean water, healthy latrines, wastewater management (Household Wastewater Drainage System), waste management, and hygienic practices. This study aims to examine the relationship between environmental sanitation and stunting incidence among toddlers in Beka Village. This analytical research employs a case-control study design. The study variables include clean water sanitation, healthy latrines, household wastewater drainage system, waste management, and stunting. Data were collected through questionnaires and KMS books, utilizing both primary and secondary sources. Univariate and bivariate analyses were performed using the chi-square test. The study population consisted of all 128 toddlers with stunting, with a sample size of 50 toddlers, including 25 cases and 25 controls. The results indicate a significant relationship between clean water availability (p = 0.020), healthy latrines (p = 0.010), household wastewater drainage system (p = 0.020), and waste management (p = 0.046) with stunting incidence. In conclusion, this study finds a significant association between environmental sanitation factors and the occurrence of stunting in toddlers in Beka Village, Marawola District, Sigi Regency.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a serious concern for children globally, including in Indonesia, often caused by ongoing malnutrition problems. There are numerous factors associated with stunting. This research aims to analysed multiple factors related to stunting in toddlers. Methods: This research utilized a case-control approach. The research was conducted in the Marawola District from Juni to August 2024. A group of 128 toddlers were part of the study, with half of them classified as cases and the remaining half as controls. Variables in this research included maternal characteristics (education, occupation), toilet ownership, exclusive breastfeeding practice, complete immunization, and stunting. Data was collected using questionnaires and direct measurements (anthropometry). Data analysis involved univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, as well as multivariate analysis using linear regression with 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: The results from the research were indicated a strong correlation between education (p = 0.038), exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.012), and complete immunization (p = 0.008) with the occurrence of stunting. In particular, it was identified that complete immunization has the highest impact on stunting compared to the others variables studied. Conclusion: A significant association was observed between education, exclusive breastfeeding, complete immunization, and the likelihood of stunting in toddlers. It is crucial to introduce targeted interventions that prioritize the provorsion of proper nutrition, education, and enhanced healthcare accessibility to reduce the prevalence of stunting among toddlers.

Abstract

Introduction: The Sigi Regency has long struggled with a high rate of stunting among children in Central Sulawesi. There are multiple factors that play a role in contributing to this issue. Objective: The goal of this study is to examine the various factors that impact stunting in toddlers. Method: To conduct this research, a Case-control study was utilized in the Marawola Health Center Working Area in April and May of 2025. A total of 78 mothers with toddlers participated in the study, providing information through surveys and observations. The data was then analyzed using the Chi Square test with a confidence level of 95%. Result and Discussion: The results revealed that education, exclusive breastfeeding, immunization, and toddler weighing all played a significant role in the prevalence of stunting among toddlers (p value < 0.05). However, factors such as occupation, income, and access to Integrated Health Service Post did not show a significant correlation with stunting (p value > 0.05). Conclusions: It is crucial to take a comprehensive approach to health education, promote exclusive breastfeeding, conduct vaccination campaigns, and regularly monitor the growth of children in order to effectively reduce the prevalence of stunting in young children.
