Abstract

The Kasembon Muslim community in Malang Regency, East Java, lives in a multicultural society. They have the awareness to build religious tolerance and harmony even though the basis of their religious understanding tends to be fundamentally exclusive. This study aims to find out how the construction of fundamentalist Muslim society in terms of tolerance and fostering religious harmony. Research finds that the Kasembon Muslim community is exclusive in matters considered theological teachings, such as various rituals of religious worship considered sacred. But on the other hand, they are willing to be inclusive when dealing with things considered profane. Such as various issues related to humanity, society, and culture. Tolerance and harmony between religious communities are supported by sharing traditions, like Bersih Desa, and celebrating Independence Day.   Masyarakat Muslim Kasembon Kabupaten Malang Jawa Timur hidup dalam komuitas yang multiultural. Mereka memiliki kesadaran untuk membangun toleransi dan kerukunan beragama walupun basis pemahaman keagamaan mereka cenderung ekslusif-fundamental. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konstruksi masyarakat Muslim fundamentalis dalam toleransi dan membina kerukunan beragama penelitian menemukan bahwa Masyarakat muslim Kasembon  bersikap eksklusif dalam persoalan-persoalan yang dianggap sebagai ajaran teologis, seperti berbagai ritus ibadah keagamaan yang dianggap sakral. Namun di sisi lain mereka bersedia bersikap inklusif ketika berhubungan dengan hal-hal yang dianggap profan. Seperti berbagai isu yang berkaitan dengan kemanusiaan, sosial dan budaya. Toleransi dan harmoni antar umat beragama didukung oleh berbagi momen tardisi-tradisi misalnya ketika bersih desa dan momen menyambut perayaan hari kemerdekaan.

Abstract

Teaching Arabic grammar is important to improve students' reading skills. One of the books used to teach grammar in Islamic institutes is the book Matn Al-Ajrumiyah. This research aims to develop the teaching model for Matn Al-Jurumiyah book based on the contrastive study between Arabic and English to improve reading skill. This research is a development research on the ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design, development, application and evaluation. The data was collected using the method of interview, questionnaire, document and test. And data analysis in qualitative data using Miles and Hubberman, where the analysis consists of four activities, which are data collection, data presentation, data classification and conclusion, and quantitative data with the help of the statistical program for social sciences version 25.0. The results of this research are: 1) The development of the teaching model for the Matn al-Ajrumiyah book on the basis of the contrastive study between Arabic and English. 2) The developed teaching model is valid for use, after analyzing the results of the certification of the three experts, and the results of the analysis indicated 91.8%, which is very good. Reading skill, as evidenced by the fact that the arithmetic t estimate is 22,309, which is more than the t estimate of table 2.45. This indicates that the result of the experiment has a significant difference.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the implementation of the learning theory framework on learning Arabic speaking skills and explore the supporting factors of successful speaking skills instruction at the Ar-Raayah College of Arabic Language (STIBA) Sukabumi. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study research method. The data were collected by interviews and documentation. Data analysis included data collection, data classification, display data, and conclusion based on Milles and Huberman's theory. The results showed that the implementation of the learning theory in speaking skills instruction was found in a) learning speaking skills based on the theory of behaviorism by establishing a learning environment, memorizing vocabulary method, Arabic language competitions, and the application of conversations in daily activities; b) learning based on cognitive theory which is done by discussion and qawaid and tarjamah method, c) learning speaking skills based on the constructivism theory which implemented cooperative learning, contextual learning, language games, and song methods. The study also revealed that factors that support the successful learning of Arabic speaking skills are internal and external factors, such as self-motivation, language environment, teachers and native speakers, and adequate learning facilities.

Abstract

The Arabic language learning curriculum in universities in Islamic Banking Study Program of STEBANK follows the institution's curriculum. The study program formulates its curriculum in addition to being based on the KKNI formulation also based on needs and environmental analysis, then from these formulations various competency standards that must be mastered will be produced in order to reflect competence of graduates according to the curriculum, the study program imposes the burden on Arabic language learning to master certain Arabic language skills that support graduate competence. The research method used is qualitative approach. The data collection technique is documentation, while the purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the use of the Arabic curriculum in the Islamic banking study program STEBANK, tertiary institution. The Arabic language curriculum in this program is designed so that students are able to master the basic elements of Arabic and are able to master the elements of Arabic skills, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing in the fields of Muamalah and Islamic Economics.

Abstract

إن حيرة طلبة الجامعة في تحديد مجالات البحث الجامعي واختيار المناهج لكتابته ظاهرة واقعة. قد تعود هذه القضية إلى عدم التصنيف الواضح في مجالات البحث الجامعي في جامعة ما. يهدف هذا البحث إلى وضع خريطة المفاهيم لمجالات البحوث ومناهجها في قسم تعليم اللغة العربية. استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي عن المدخل الكيفي. أجريت الدراسة في قسم تعليم اللغة العربية بجامعة الراية. وقد تم تحليل البيانات عن طريق جمع البيانات، ثم فرز البيانات ثم عرض البيانات، والأخير الاستنتاج. دلت نتائج البحث على أن مجالات البحوث في قسم تعليم اللغة العربية في هذه الجامعة تنقسم إلى قسمين، الأول المجالات التعليمية التي تشمل استراتيجيات التعليم، وطرق التعليم، وبرامج التعليم، ومناهج التعليم، ووسائل التعليم، ومشكلات التعليم، والكتب أو محتوياتها، والتقييم، والثاني علوم اللغة التي تشمل علم المعاجم، وعلم اللغة الاجتماعي، وعلم اللغة النفسي، وعلم النحو، وعلم الصرف، علم البلاغة، علم الترجمة، علم الأصوات، وعلم تعليم اللغة،  أما المناهج المستخدمة في كتابة البحوث في هذا القسم فهي منهج الوصف التحليلي، ومنهج الوصف التحليلي المقارن، ومنهج الوصف التحليلي الاستقرائي، ومنهج البحث المكتبي، والمنهج التقابلي، ومنهج الوصف التحليلي التاريخي، والمنهج التجريبي. وقد تم وضع خرطة المفاهيم على الشكل النظامي.

Abstract

This community service aims to build a perception of Islamic family relations for the administrators of Mahad Sunan Ampel Al-Aly Malang.  This is very important to do because today's millennial generation really needs coaching related to building husband and wife relationships in the family.  Coaching program to the administrators of Mahad Sunan Ampel Al-Aly is a very strategic step, because they will pass on this perception to the students whoare  under their responsibility. This community service is carried out with two cycles of Participatory Action Research (PAR) methods that manifests in two main activities, namely focus goup discussions together with the management of Mahad Sunan Ampel Al-Aly and implementing pre-marital training.  From the pre-marital training conducted, 64.1% increased the perception of Islamic family relations in the administrators of Mahad Sunan Ampel Al-Aly Malang. In addition, a joint commitment was also produced as a follow-up to activities in the form of delivering training materials to  the assisted students of each participant.

Abstract

Developing effective muhadastah (conversational/oral communication) materials for special needs, students presents ongoing challenges. This study investigates the use of Puppet Theater as an innovative tool to improve muhadastah skills in special needs students, drawing on William Francis Mackey's theory of contextual and interactive learning. This research was conducted at MTs Wachid Hasyim Surabaya and involved 11 Class VIII special needs students, including individuals with hearing and speech impairments, ADHD, slow learning, and emotional needs. A qualitative methodology was applied, employing observations, interviews, and instructional material analysis to assess the effectiveness of Puppet Theater in enhancing communication skills within Mackey’s theoretical framework. The findings indicate that Puppet Theater markedly improved student engagement, interaction, and language development. Notably, a student with a speech impairment exhibited enhanced articulation and confidence, while students with ADHD showed better focus and participation. Slow learners benefited from the structured social interactions that Puppet Theater provided, fostering their conversational skills. These results suggest that Puppet Theater aligns well with Mackey’s contextual learning principles, offering a dynamic approach for muhadastah skill development in special needs students. It fosters a conducive environment for social and linguistic growth, accommodating diverse learning needs effectively. Puppet Theater proves to be a creative and interactive method for developing muhadastah materials, highlighting its potential as an educational strategy for diverse learners. This study contributes to special education literature by demonstrating Puppet Theater's effectiveness in enhancing conversational skills, with implications for broader educational applications.

Abstract

The goals of this research were to learn about the many tactics used by teachers to develop Arabic speaking skills in Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, and explain the various Arabic environments that help students improve their Arabic speaking skills at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor. This is a qualitative study conducted using a case study approach. The process of gathering information through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data Analysis Techniques comprise four steps: 1) collecting data, 2) integrating data, 3) condensing data distribution, and 4) drawing conclusions from data. The findings of this study indicate that: (1) Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor's technique for increasing Arabic speaking skills is divided into classroom and out-of-classroom learning. Classroom learning methods include direct strategy, dialogue strategy, discussion strategy, and question and answer strategy. Outside of the classroom, there are two types of language justification strategies: direct and shared. (2) The Arabic Language Environment, which includes the development of students' confidence in speaking Arabic, as well as Discussion activities such as Vocabulary Division and Repetition, Arabic Speech, and Punishment for Violating the Official Language, contribute significantly to students' Arabic speaking skills. 3) Develop several techniques to increase pupils' speaking skills in Modern Darussalam gontor.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the type and level of engagement with Arabic-language social media among students in the Arabic Language Education Department at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University in Malang. The study employed a quantitative descriptive approach. The research population consisted of students from the Arabic Language Teaching Department, with a sample selected through purposive sampling, focusing on those who utilized social media for Arabic language learning in class. Data were collected using questionnaires featuring a Likert scale and brief interviews. The researchers employed descriptive statistical analysis to summarize and present the collected data in terms of frequencies, percentages, and means, providing an overview of students' participation in Arabic-language social networking platforms. The results of the research were as follows: (1) the students actively engage with social media for learning Arabic, their interaction is predominantly limited to grammar content created by Indonesian speakers, with minimal exposure to native Arabic media and cultural resources., and (2) the students occasionally engage with Arabic-language social media, mainly on Instagram and YouTube, but overall participation and consistency remain low. The limited and irregular exposure of students to Arabic-language media—particularly from native sources—suggests a missed opportunity in Arabic language pedagogy, where consistent engagement with authentic media could significantly enhance linguistic competence, cultural understanding, and communicative skills.

Abstract

The phenomenon of differences in educational background and linguistic abilities of new students, has an impact on the policy of the PBA IAIN Lhokseumawe study program by implementing istima' kalam learning with a team teaching strategy. This study aims to describe; What are the strategies and supporting media used by the lecturer team in learning the istima 'kalam course, in an effort to improve learning activities and students' ability to speak Arabic? This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation studies. Then the data was analyzed by following the theory of Miles and Huberman which includes reduction after data collection, data presentation and conclusions. The results showed that there was a set of strategies used by team teaching and contributed to the achievement of the process and objectives of the istima' kalam course at the PBA IAIN Lhokseumawea. Among them are determining material that is in accordance with student competence, division of lecturers' tasks in teaching based on the stages of language proficiency competence in lectures, application of direct and indirect learning strategies both independently and in groups, with methods of summarizing, repeating, giving speeches, discussing, debating role playing.
