Abstract

The mattampung tradition is a tradition of changing tombstones, this tradition has existed from the ancestors as a form of family responsibility in order to get the best place with Allah SWT. This study aims to (1) describe a sign and meaning contained in the mattampung tradition of the Bugis community in Sumberjaya Village, Banyuasin Regency in Peirce's semiotic study (2) describe the local wisdom values of the culture of the Bugis community in Sumberjaya Village, Banyuasin Regency. The method in this research is to use qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data in this study is information obtained through direct research results from informants. The data sources in this study were people who were seen as having knowledge of the mattampung tradition. Data collection techniques in this study used observation techniques, interview techniques, and documentation techniques. The results in the study show that the results of the signs used in this mattampung tradition include: 7 kinds of cakes; cows, wall of graves, barazanji, mappasili, manisa/tombstones, leppek-leppek and bananas, side dishes, and puluk. Local wisdom values in the mattampung tradition include: compromise values, religious values, historical values, shared values, mutual cooperation values, deliberation values, and tolerance values

Abstract

This study aims to apply the discovery learning learning model in improving the ability to identify the text of the observation report for students of SMAN 1 Muara Sugihan. To achieve this goal, the classroom action research was conducted with three cycles. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the discovery learning model can improve the ability to identify the text of the observation report of class XI students of SMAN 1 Muara Sugihan. In cycle I, the action of the first cycle has not been achieved regarding the observation aspect, then in the second cycle, the observed aspects have increased but cannot be said to have reached the KKM, so the researcher takes action in cycle III. In cycle III, all aspects observed experienced an increase from the previous two cycles. The average increase from the results of observations in the learning process cycle I and cycle II increased to thirtysix students or around 51.42%. In this cycle there was an increase to 27.14%. In cycle III there was an increase from the previous two cycles, the proportion achieved was 73.86% (seventythree point eighty six percent) and there were sixty seven students who achieved scores above the KKM. So, the increase achieved was 43.58% (fortythree point five eight percent).

Abstract

: This study aims to determine the results of improving the quality of the learning process in the ability to analyze the building blocks of poetry through the problem-based learning model of students for students of SMKN 1 Palembang. To achieve this goal, a class action research was conducted in 2 cycles. The results of the research can be seen from the observation of the learning process in cycle II which shows an increase from cycle I. In cycle II students are more participatory in discussions and when advancing to read poetry and provide feedback from friends who read poetry. Overall, students can take part in learning actively, comfortably and seriously. In addition, teachers have also implemented guidelines for implementing learning to write poetry by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model better. The results of observing the learning process show that the results of the implementation of learning analyze the building blocks of poetry by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model by fulfilling the indicators of the success of the process in this study. In addition, the results of the poetry writing test on the initial average value or pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II increased from 48 in the pre-cycle, to 62 in cycle I, and increased significantly to 83 in cycle II. Meanwhile, the percentage of students who met the minimum completeness criteria increased from 15% in the pre-cycle to 56% in cycle I, and increased significantly in cycle II to 91%.
