Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang membahas tentang penerapan metode SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk menjelaskan konsep metode SQ3R dan menggambarkan bagaimana metode ini dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi siswa. Metode SQ3R memberikan pendekatan sistematis dalam membaca dan memahami teks, melalui langkah-langkah seperti tinjauan teks, merumuskan pertanyaan, membaca dengan pemahaman, mengulang kembali informasi, dan mengulang secara keseluruhan. Dalam artikel ini, disajikan pula hasil yang dapat dicapai melalui penerapan metode SQ3R, termasuk peningkatan pemahaman, retensi informasi yang lebih baik, pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis, peningkatan kemandirian belajar, dan persiapan siswa untuk pembelajaran seumur hidup. Dalam kesimpulannya, penerapan metode SQ3R dapat menjadi pendekatan yang efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan literasi siswa, dengan melibatkan siswa secara aktif, mendorong pemahaman mendalam, dan mempersiapkan mereka untuk sukses dalam pembelajaran dan kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Numerous variables continue to contribute to the reduction in staff performance at Community Health Centers. By using employee job satisfaction interventions as health care interventions, this study seeks to examine the effects of organizational leadership and culture on service performance. A total of 47 respondents were sampled for this quantitative descriptive study. According to the research's findings, job satisfaction is one way that leadership and organizational culture have a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Leadership and organizational culture also have a positive and significant impact on employee performance.

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of project-based learning in enhancing students' creative thinking skills in language learning. The aim is to explore the impact of project-based learning strategies, collaboration, technology integration, and real-world contexts on students' creative thinking abilities. Qualitative research approach was utilized, including surveys, observations, and project assessments. This research was applied to students at MTS Muhammadiyah 13 Solokuro who are currently starting to use the independent curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) in grade 7. The results indicate a positive impact of project-based learning on students' creative thinking skills, with improvements observed in idea generation, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Collaboration and communication were found to be crucial elements in fostering creative thinking. The integration of technology and real-world contexts further enhanced students' creativity. The study highlights the importance of project-based learning in promoting students' motivation and engagement in language learning. However, there is a need for further research to explore long-term effects, individual differences, assessment strategies, teacher professional development, comparative studies, and generalizability. These findings provide insights for educators to effectively implement project-based learning and cultivate students' creative thinking skills in language education.

Abstract

The goals of this study are to find out kinds of figurative language used by Sue Monk Kidd in his novel, The Secret Life of Bees, to investigate how the artistic effect and linguistic evidence achieved through figurative language and to describe how figurative language supports the theme. The research deals with the use of figurative language in a literary work, novel. Hence, this study contains the figurative language and also Sue Monk Kidd’s stylistics. The Secret Life of Bees was a New York Times bestseller list, it won 2004 book sense book of the year awards, and it was nominated for the orange broadband prize for fiction. This novel also adapted to film directed by Gina Prince-bythewood. The writer found that dialect as a stylistic is merely one way to build characterization; Kidd is adept at several others including the art of conversation, the art of story-telling, and the art of description in ekspressing the main character. While the figurative language found in this research are simile, personification, metaphor, symbolism, imagery and allegory.

Abstract

Interprofessional Education is essential in preparing students to collaborate effectively across professional disciplines in addressing complex real-world problems. One instructional approach that has gained increasing attention in higher education is Project-Based Learning, as it emphasizes active learning, collaboration, and authentic tasks. This study aims to explore students’ perspectives and learning experiences regarding the implementation of Project-Based Learning as an instructional approach in an Interprofessional Education course. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected from undergraduate students enrolled in an IPE course through reflective journals, focus group discussions, and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed thematically to identify recurring patterns related to students’ perceptions and experiences. The findings reveal that Project-Based Learning facilitates meaningful interprofessional collaboration, enhances communication skills, and promotes critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Students also reported increased awareness of professional roles and responsibilities, as well as improved teamwork and mutual respect among different disciplines. However, challenges such as coordination difficulties, unequal participation, and time management issues were also identified. Overall, the study concludes that Project-Based Learning is an effective instructional approach in Interprofessional Education, providing authentic learning experiences that support the development of interprofessional competencies. The findings offer pedagogical implications for educators in designing and implementing IPE courses that foster collaborative and experiential learning environments.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan pengelolaan keuangan keluarga nelayan melalui booklet. Penggunaan booklet menjadi media yang mudah dipahami sesuai dengan karakteristik masyarakat keluarga nelayan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 20 keluarga nelayan yang memiliki latar belakang penghasilan yang beragam. Permasalahan yang kerap dihadapi keluarga nelayan adalah tidak memiliki kebiasaan mencatat pemasukan dan pengeluaran, tidak memahami instrumen keuangan dasar, sehingga sering terjadi praktik konsumsi impulsif dan terjebak pada peminjaman informal. Metode kegiatan ini melalui tiga tahap yaitu: pra-kegiatan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Hasil menujukkan peningkatan dalam pemahaman dan pengetahuan, keterampilan pengelolaan keuangan keluarga serta motivasi kebiasaan sehat keuangan keluarga. dengan rata-rata skor post-test (70) yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pre-test (40).Abstract: The purpose of this community service is to improve the understanding and financial management skills of fishing families through a booklet. The use of booklets is easy to understand in accordance with the characteristics of fishing families. This activity was attended by 20 fishing families from diverse income backgrounds. Problems frequently faced by fishing families include a lack of habitual recording of income and expenses, a lack of understanding of basic financial instruments, and frequent impulsive consumption practices, leading to reliance on informal borrowing. This activity involves three stages: pre-activity, implementation, and evaluation. The results show an increase in understanding and knowledge, family financial management skills and motivation for healthy family financial habits, with an average post-test score (70) that is higher than the pre-test (40).
