Abstract

Empowerment of women at East Batuphat District is still less efforts in increasing their family income. This training aims to empower the women at East Batuphat District in processing the yield of estuary ponds which are at that district. There were several steps of this training, such as preparing materials and equipments, surveying knowledge and understanding of participants, demonstrating the processing of milkfish dendeng, Training the processing of milkfish dendeng by participants, and surveying the quality of milkfish dendeng product. The results of the training were the percentage of those women which understood about fishery processed products and milkfish dendeng was increased after training. This training gave some skills to those women in processing milkfish dendeng and it became to new source of their income. Generally, organoleptical assessment of milkfish dendeng was in accordance with the characteristics of dendeng.

Abstract

Batuphat Timur village has several potential for their fish product. From milkfish and shrimp, especially for their woman empowerment. However, this product is not utilized optimally in the community. This community service aimed to socialize the utilization of milkfish bone as fishery waste to make fish bone snack for the women at Batuphat Timur village, Muara Satu District, Lhokseumawe. The steps of this community service consisted of preparing survey quetionare for understanding level and explaining the information of aquatic product specifically fish bone snack. This service resulted positive impact in increasing the knowledge of the women in that village about processed fish bone snack. Generally, the percentage of the women of East Batuphat village which understood about fishery processed product and fish bone snack development increased significantly after implementing the socialization.

Abstract

The high price of commercial feed causes higher production costs. The problem was experienced by fish farmers, including the groups of pond farmers in East Releut Village, North Aceh. The purpose of this activity is to improve the pond farmer's skills by developing artificial fish feed made from local raw materials using Moringa leaf flour. This service activity uses an educative, participatory, and persuasive method approach. Also, the procedures consist of several stages, that are socialization about artificial fish feed made from local raw materials, socialization about the introduction of various local raw materials that have the potential to be used as feed ingredients, socialization about manufacturing technology fish feed, training in the stages of making fish feed, and marketing training for artificial fish feed made from local raw materials. The socialization and training on the process of artificial feed also motivate pond farmers to produce fish feed made from local raw materials. The participants were very satisfied on the knowledge/information (64,58%), the explanation of knowledge (72,22%), and the whole activity (63,89%), and satisfied on discussion process (58,33%). Participants hoped that developing artificial feed products, could reduce the cost of production

Abstract

Udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) merupakan spesies udang introduksi yang sudah banyak dibudidayakan di tambak di Indonesia. Permasalahan pada budidaya udang vaname di tambak dengan padat tebar tinggi dan penggunaan pakan protein tinggi adalah tingginya akumulasi residu/limbah budidaya. Salah satu cara memanfaatkan limbah budidaya yaitu sistem heterotrof dengan menggunakan teknologi bioflok dengan memanipulasi rasio perbandingan karbon nitrogen (C/N ratio) di dalam media budidaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pembentukan flok pada pemeliharaan udang vaname dengan pemberian sumber karbon yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri atas lima perlakuan, yaitu: kontrol, molase, tepung terigu, tepung maizena, dan air tebu; masing-masing tiga ulangan. Setiap perlakuan diberikan pada wadah pemeliharaan udang vaname untuk menumbuhkan flok dengan menambahkan probiotik komersil. Analisis data yang dilakukan antara lain pertumbuhan dan sintasan udang, FCR, ukuran flok, volume flok, kandungan gizi flok, dan parameter kualitas air yang mendukung kehidupan udang vaname. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian sumber karbon berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan udang. Pemberian tepung terigu dalam pembentukan flok merupakan sumber karbon yang terbaik untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan udang vaname dengan pertambahan bobot 0,56 g; panjang 1,96 cm; dan sintasan 90,67%; dengan nilai FCR 1,10; kandungan protein flok sebesar 27,15%; ukuran flok 450 mikron; dan volume flok 88 mL/L. Nilai kisaran parameter kualitas air DO 5,5-6,5 mg/L; pH 6,8-8,0; suhu 26°C-30°C; salinitas 30-33 ppt; dan amonia 0,1-1,54 mg/L. Implikasi penelitian ini membuktikan pemberian sumber karbon memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan flok dan mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan sintasan udang vaname. Sebaiknya diperlukan penelitian lebih spesifik untuk mencari dosis terbaik dan maksimal dari sumber karbon tepung terigu untuk pembentukan flok, pertumbuhan, dan sintasan udang vaname.Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is an introduced species of shrimp that has been widely farmed in brackishwater ponds in Indonesia. Vannamei shrimp farmed in ponds with high stocking density and fed with high protein feed produce large quantities of residues/waste. Reducing the waste could be achieved by using biofloc technology to manipulate the carbon nitrogen ratio (C/N ratio) in the culture media. This study aimed to evaluate the formation of flocks grown on different carbon sources in the rearing media of vannamei shrimp. The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design consisting of five treatments, namely: control, molasses, wheat flour, corn starch, and sugarcane juice, each with three replications. Data analysis was carried out on shrimp growth and survival, FCR, floc size, floc volume, floc nutrient content, and water quality parameters that support the life of vannamei shrimp. The results showed that different carbon sources had a significant effect on the shrimp growth. Flour is the best source of carbon to support the formation of flocks which increases the growth of vannamei shrimp with a weight gain of 0.56 g, a length of 1.96 cm, and a survival rate of 90.67%, with an FCR value of 1.10, a floc protein content of 27.15%, a floc size of 450 microns, and a floc volume of 88 mL/L. The measured variations of DO, pH, temperature, salinity, and and ammonia were 5.5-6.5 mg/L, 6.8-8.0, 26°C-30°C, 30-33 ppt, and 0.1-1.54 mg/L, respectively. This research demonstrates that the provision of different carbon sources has an effect on increasing flocks and are able to increase the growth and survival of vannamei shrimp. It is recommended that more specific research is needed to find the best and maximum dose of wheat flour carbon sources for floc formation, growth and survival of vannamei shrimp.

Abstract

The strategy of increasing the salt business in the development of the marine (coastal) economy is very significant in boosting the productivity of the salt. The business of salt that located on Coastal has very good prospects in the future because it is supported by a lot of potential for vacant land, climate, human resources, market opportunities and abundant raw materials for the manufacture of people's salt. Socio-economic potential is the basic capital in the development of salt production in North Aceh Regency, especially Aceh Province. The current issue for most salt farmers is that the quality of salt is still low which is caused by the existing access to capital by farmers, other problems, lack of capital is one of the causes of the decline in salt productivity so that the salt produced is not in accordance with market demand.Salt farmers experienced the impact of a decrease in the productivity of business capital, which became an obstacle for the investor of capital. This can be resolved by the financier. Then the bank can provide funds to salt farmers according to their needs. Therefore, the importance of research in implementing a banking strategy in increasing the productivity of salt farmers in accordance with the business of the farmer group. It is very important to analyze the productivity of salt farmers after being given capital to assess the success of the capital provided to salt farmers. This research method begins with a survey of strategic information in providing business capital for salt farmers which is useful in increasing the productivity of salt farmers. The results of the analysis are entered into the K-Nearest Neighbor classification model in the feasibility of providing capital using a classification in order to see groups of productive salt farmers after being given capital. The results of the test with the k-means clustering model are in the form of group 2 classification values with a distance value of 0.210 based on the criteria included in the strategy for providing business capital.

Abstract

Desa Tumpok Teungoh terletak di Kecamatan Banda Sakti, Kota Lhokseumawe. Ikan gabus merupakan salah satu jenis ikan lokal yang memiliki kandungan protein yang sangat tinggi. Selain itu, ikan gabus juga merupakan ikan air tawar yang memiliki kandungan nutrisi terbaik yang sangat bermanfaat bagi kesehatan seperti meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh, penyembuhan luka, menjaga keseimbangan cairan sel serta penyembuhan dan pencegahan penyakit. Sebagai sumber protein yang sangat digemari masyarakat luas, ikan ini dapat diolah menjadi berbagai macam produk pangan. Salah satunya hasil diversifikasi olahan ikan gabus adalah bakso dan nugget. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini berdampak positif dalam mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat ibu rumah tangga di Desa Tumpok Teungoh. Hasil survei menunjukkan persentase ibu rumah tangga yang mengetahui teknologi penganekaragaman pengolahan ikan gabus meningkat drastis. Mereka memahami konsep pengolahan ikan gabus, manfaat dan nilai gizi ikan gabus, teknik pengolahan ikan gabus dan jenis pengolahan ikan gabus. kegiatan ini juga sangat mendukung salah satu program pemerintah dalam Program Gemarikan yang digagas oleh Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan, yang bertujuan untuk bersama-sama membangun kesadaran gizi secara individu dan kolektif masyarakat agar mereka suka makan ikan, dengan harapan dapat meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh dalam menghadapi pandemi COVID-19. Para peserta sangat antusias dan berharap dengan mengembangkan produk olahan ikan gabus dapat meningkatkan biaya pendapatan.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to provide an overview of information regarding the cultivation of catfish in the aquaponic system of Budikdamber (bucket cultivation) to increase student creativity and open up business opportunities for students. This training activity is an illustration of how a bucket (budikdamber) can be used to increase student income and open up knowledge for students. Students can carry out cultivation activities with narrow land and lower costs, besides that this aquaponics system is also effective and efficient to be applied in schools. The cultivation method of catfish with the Budikdamber aquaponic system uses probiotics to maintain water quality during maintenance. The frequency of feeding is twice a day, namely in the morning and evening, the amount of feed given is based on the body weight of the fish. After participating in this activity, students can understand and carry out catfish cultivation with the aquaponic system of budikdamber (cultivating in buckets. The result of this service activity is the development of student insight about catfish farming in buckets (budikdamber) with an aquaponic system and also students' skills in processing and caring for catfish and cultivated plants.Furthermore, the development of catfish enlargement cultivation can optimize the use of available land to increase production yields. Abstract

Commodity types of food crops are one of the sectors that are very important for food security, and this is very influential in maintaining food security in Indonesia. Food crops commodities in northern Aceh that have commodities include rice, soybeans, corn, peanuts, green beans and so on. The problem now is the difficulty of finding information which is an obstacle to analyzing the stock model of the types of food crops. This commodity plays an important role in people's lives in the next few years. There is a forecasting information system to be able to see all the information on the stock inventory report of food crop commodities in the future. The Double Exponential Smoothing model is very appropriate because the behavior of the commodity type data is seasonal (per month) and trend (increase). With annual data reaching 47716.14 tons for rice plants, for soybeans reached 6141.81 tons. Estimated forecast for January-December. On average every January 32600, February 32300, March, 31200, April 29500, May 38000, November 29500, December 35800 for the following year experienced an increase. Next to the value of Set Alpha 0.2. The period of one for the value of'tt is 32600, the value of s''t is 32600 for at is 32600, for the value of bt is 0, then in the second period of value, the'tt is 32540, the value of s''t is 32588 for at is 32492, for the value of bt is -12. Furthermore for the period 25, Shout is 35360, the value of no is 33228.94109 for at 37491.05891, for the value of bt is 532.7647285, and for the period 26 the last is Shutter is 33340, the value is 33251.15287 for at is 33428.84713, for the value of bt is 22,21178279. Abstract

ABSTRACTPlastic waste is one of the biggest problems that is difficult to deal with because plastic is strong, elastic and durable, making it difficult for nature to decompose. Microplastics are plastic particles 5 mm in size that have been degraded from their initial form over a long period of time. Microplastics can damage aquatic ecosystems and cause death to biota because they inhibit metabolic processes, can transfer harmful chemicals to biota, and so on. This study aims to determine the type, size, color, and abundance of microplastics in the gills and gastrointestinal tract of mackerel. The research method uses descriptive methods to describe a phenomenon that is currently happening and conduct observations and interviews with sellers/fishermen. This study used 30 mackerel fish from the Belawan shelter and were analyzed at the Water Quality and Fish Nutrition Laboratory, Malikussaleh University. The results showed that as many as 84 microplastic particles in the gills were in the form of fibers and dominated by black, and there were 74 microplastic particles found in the gastrointestinal tract in the form of fibers and films with black, blue, red microplastic fibers and transparent gray microplastic film colors. The sizes of the microplastics found varied and were not affected by the length or weight of the fish, gills and gastrointestinal tract.Keywords: Mackerel, gills, microplastics, digestive tract, and plastic waste.ABSTRAKSampah plastik merupakan salah satu masalah terbesar yang masih sulit untuk ditangani karena plastik bersifat kuat, elastis dan tahan lama sehingga sulit diurai oleh alam. Mikroplastik merupakan partikel plastik yang berukuran 5 mm dan  telah mengalami degradasi dari bentuk awalnya dengan jangka waktu yang lama. Mikroplastik dapat merusak ekosistem perairan dan menyebabkan kematian pada biota karena menghambat proses metabolisme, dapat menstrasfer zat-zat kimia berbahaya pada biota, dan lain sebagainya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengetahui tipe/jenis, ukuran, warna, dan kelimpahan mikroplastik pada insang dan saluran pencernaan ikan kembung. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan atau menguraikan suatu fenomena  yang sedang terjadi dan melakukan observasi maupun wawancara dengan penjual/nelayan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan ikan kembung sebanyak 30 ekor dari tempat penampungan Belawan dan diteliti di Laboratorium Kualitas Air dan Nutrisi Ikan, Universitas Malikussaleh.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan sebanyak 84 partikel mikroplastik di bagian insang dengan bentuk fiber dan didominasi warna hitam, serta ada 74 partikel mikroplastik yang ditemukan di bagian saluran pencernaan dengan bentuk fiber maupun film dengan warna mikroplastik fiber hitam, biru, merah serta warna mikroplastik film abu-abu transparan. Ukuran mikroplastik yang ditemukan berbeda-beda dan tidak dipengaruhi oleh panjang maupun berat ikan, insang dan saluran pencernaan.Kata Kunci: Ikan kembung, Insang, Mikroplastik, Saluran pencernaan, dan Sampah plastik.

Abstract

Acartia sp is a zooplankton that has the potential to be developed and used as naturalfeed for marine fish larvae. The problem in cultivation is that the right feed is neededas a support for the growth of Acartia sp so that maximum production and feed needsfrom larvae are fulfilled. This study aims to find out the growth response of Acartia sp to the application of egg yolks, pellets and yeast as a source of nutrition. Researchparameters include abundance levels, population peaks, growth rates and waterquality on Acartia sp maintenance. The research method is an experimental laboratorywith 4 (four) treatment levels and 3 (three) repeats. The treatment standards are A:Pellets, B:Egg yolks, C: Yeast (yeast), and D: Nannochloropsis sp (control). Theresearch phase consists of preparation of Acartia sp feed (egg yolk, pellet, yeast, andNannochloropsis sp), feeding, and maintenance of Acartia sp. The results showed thatacculturation of Acartia sp with feed differences affected daily abundance, populationpeak, and growth rate of Acartia sp with the best treatment indicated byNannocloropsis sp (control). The peak population of Acartia sp reached 633.33 ind /L, the growth rate of Acartia sp reached 106.6 ind / day. However, the provision ofpellets becomes an alternative to Acartia sp feed that has the potential to support itsgrowth. The value of water quality parameters during the study is still optimal, namelytemperature 25-27 °C, salinity 33-35 ppt, pH 7.1-7.9, DO 4.9-6.6 mg / L, and ammonia0.087-0.284 ppm.
