Abstract

Artificial spawning on stripe catfish has generally carried out by stripping because of the absence in reflex of spawning. Mechanical stripping usually caused stress, decreased quality of gametes and seeds and damage on gonad. Induced spawning without stripping could be used for the process of gonad maturation to stimulate the ovulation of the fish which has the difficulties to spawn in its non natural habitat. Induced spawning without stripping by using hormones combi-nation was conducted in the present study. This research proposed to evaluate the injection of hormones combination between aromatase inhibitor (AI) and oxytocin association with ovaprim and PGF2a for stimulating ovulation and spawning without stripping. The completely randomized design of combined hormones consisted of five treatments such as P1(AI,oxytocin), P2 (AI, oxytocin,ovaprim), P3 (AI, oxytocin, ovaprim, PGF2a), P4 (ovaprim) as positive control, and P5 (NaCl) as negative control. Each treatment was performed using five paires of males and females as individual replicate of about 2-6 kg weight. The results showed that the combination of P3 was the most effectively and successfully induced ovulation with naturally spawning without stripping, treatment P4 ovulation with stripping, while the treatment P5 there was not ovulation. The hormones combination caused decreasing of estradiol-17p concentration and testosterone (p<0.05) as the sign of the final maturation. The average time of ovulation was 12.35±4.05 to 15.20±2.25 minutes. The highest number of eggs about 145.865 from the treatment P3 (AI, oxytocin, ovaprim, PGF2a). Abstrak Pemijahan buatan pada ikan patin dilakukan dengan cara pengurutan karena tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk menge-luarkan telur secara alami. Teknik pengurutan berdampak stres pada induk, kualitas gamet menurun, dan gonad menjadi rusak. Proses pematangan gonad dan pemijahan tanpa pengurutan dapat diinduksi secara hormonal untuk membantu ovulasi ikan yang sulit memijah di luar habitatnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi penggunaan hormon penghambat aromatase (aromatase inhibitor - AI) dan oksitosin serta kombinasi hormon untuk merangsang ovulasi dan pemijahan pada ikan patin tanpa pengurutan(semi alami). Perlakuan kombinasi hormon terdiri atas P1(AI+Oksitosin), P2 (AI+Oksitosin+Ovaprim), P3 (AI + Oksitosin + Ovaprim + Pgf2a), P4 (ovaprim) sebagai kontrol positif, dan P5 (NaCl) sebagai kontrol negatif. Pada setiap perlakuan digunakan lima induk ikan patin jantan dan lima induk ikan patin betina sebagai ulangan individu dengan bobot berkisar 2-5 kg. Perlakuan diberikan satu kali dengan cara penyuntikan hormon ke dalam jaringan pada bagian otot dibawah sirip punggung (intramuscular). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan P3 berhasil menginduksi ikan untuk ovulasi dan memijah tanpa pengurutan, sedangkan pada perlakuan P4 ikan memijah dengan cara pengurutan, dan pada P5 ikan tidak ovulasi dan tidak memijah. Perlakuan kombinasi hormon menyebabkan konsentrasi estradiol-17p dan testosteron plasma menurun yang menunjukkan tahap pematangan akhir. Lama waktu ovulasi tidak berbeda nyata yaitu berkisar antara 12,35±4,05 sampai 15,20±2,25 jam, sedangkan jumlah telur yang diovulasikan tertinggi adalah 145.865butir pada perlakuan kombinasi hormon P3 (AI + Oksitosin + Ovaprim + Pgf2a).

Abstract

Introduction fish in Indonesia has been negatively impact to the water ecology, such as declining in the number of native fish species. Handling the negative impacts of introduced fish can be minimized by reducing fertility rates through the use of plant compound extracts. This study was conducted in May - June 2016 which aimed to assess the effectiveness of the papaya seed flour (Carica papaya L) for the reproductive function of introduction fish Oreochromis niloticus. The research design used in this study was completely randomized design, non-factorial with five treatments and three replications, namely A: control (without giving the flour), B: 40 mg, C: 50 mg, D: 60 mg, E: 70 mg of papaya seeds flour mixing in 100 grams of artificial feed. The fish sample used were 45 mature tilapia fish, 4-5 months old with 200 g in weight for female and 250 gram in weight for male. Parameters measured in this research were feed consumption level, fecundity, fertilization rate, hatching rate and sperm morphological structures. The results of this study indicated that the papaya seed flour gave the multiple effect on the sperm abnormality and decreased the motility level of sperm. Statistical analysis showed that the application of papaya seed flour gave significantly different effect (P <0.05) between treatments on percentage of fertilization level and hatching rate parameters, but showed not significantly different on survival rate parameter where P> 0.05. The lowest sperm motility rate was found in treatment E, which was 00.45 ".032 /second. The average eggs number in this study ranged from 994,33 to 1.416 grains, whereas the lowest fertilization level and the lowest hatching rate was in treatment E with the percentage 58.58% and 99.24%. Abstrak Ikan introduksi di Indonesia telah menimbulkan beberapa dampak negatif terhadap ekologi perairan, diantaranya adalah menurunnya spesies ikan asli. Penanganan dampak negatif ikan-ikan introduksi dapat diminimalkan dengan cara menurunkan angka fertilitas melalui penggunaan ekstrak senyawa tumbuhan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juni 2016 yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas tepung biji pepaya (Carica papaya L) dalam menurunkan fungsi reproduksi ikan nila Oreochromis niloticus. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap non-faktorial dengan lima perlakuan tiga ulangan yaitu A: Kontrol (tanpa pemberian tepung), B: Pemberian 40 mg, C: 50 mg, D: 60 mg, E: 70 mg tepung biji pepaya dalam 100 g pakan buatan. Ikan sampel yang digunakan adalah induk ikan nila sebanyak 45 ekor yang berumur 4-5 bulan dengan berat bobot tubuh 200 g untuk induk betina dan 250 g untuk induk jantan. Parameter yang diukur ialah daya konsumsi pakan, jumlah telur (fekunditas), tingkat pembuahan telur, tingkat penetasan telur, dan morfologi sperma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tepung biji pepaya memberikan efek terhadap abnormalitas sperma dan menurunkan sintasan sperma, dan penurunan tingkat pembuahan telur (fertilitas rendah). Analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung biji pepaya memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) antar perlakuan pada parameter persentase pembuahan dan penetasan telur, namun tidak berbeda nyata terhadap parameter sintasan (P>0,05). Angka motilitas sperma terendah dijumpai pada perlakuan E yaitu 00.45”.032/detik. Jumlah telur pada penelitian ini berkisar rata-rata 994,33-1416 butir dengan nilai pembuahan terendah dan penetasan terendah terdapat pada perlakuan E dengan persentase 58,58% dan 99,24%.

Abstract

Lhokseumawe City is one of the coastal areas that has the potential for potential fishery products and is suitable for development. One of the many fishery products found in the coastal areas of the city of Hokseumawe is oysters. Generally, these oyster seekers are women who live around the coastal area of ??the city of Hokseumawe which has become their daily livelihood. The fishery products obtained by the community have not been managed professionally, so that they have not been able to provide maximum benefits to the welfare of the community. Therefore, education and training are needed for the people of Lhokseumawe City, especially women so that they can increase the selling value of these fishery products. This community service activity will increase their knowledge and skills in processing food made from fishery products, namely oysters. Which later the production of this business will have an impact on improving the community's economy, especially women in the Javanese Village of Lhokseumawe City

Abstract

Desa Tumpok Teungoh terletak di Kecamatan Banda Sakti, Kota Lhokseumawe. Ikan gabus merupakan salah satu jenis ikan lokal yang memiliki kandungan protein yang sangat tinggi. Selain itu, ikan gabus juga merupakan ikan air tawar yang memiliki kandungan nutrisi terbaik yang sangat bermanfaat bagi kesehatan seperti meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh, penyembuhan luka, menjaga keseimbangan cairan sel serta penyembuhan dan pencegahan penyakit. Sebagai sumber protein yang sangat digemari masyarakat luas, ikan ini dapat diolah menjadi berbagai macam produk pangan. Salah satunya hasil diversifikasi olahan ikan gabus adalah bakso dan nugget. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini berdampak positif dalam mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat ibu rumah tangga di Desa Tumpok Teungoh. Hasil survei menunjukkan persentase ibu rumah tangga yang mengetahui teknologi penganekaragaman pengolahan ikan gabus meningkat drastis. Mereka memahami konsep pengolahan ikan gabus, manfaat dan nilai gizi ikan gabus, teknik pengolahan ikan gabus dan jenis pengolahan ikan gabus. kegiatan ini juga sangat mendukung salah satu program pemerintah dalam Program Gemarikan yang digagas oleh Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan, yang bertujuan untuk bersama-sama membangun kesadaran gizi secara individu dan kolektif masyarakat agar mereka suka makan ikan, dengan harapan dapat meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh dalam menghadapi pandemi COVID-19. Para peserta sangat antusias dan berharap dengan mengembangkan produk olahan ikan gabus dapat meningkatkan biaya pendapatan.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to provide an overview of information regarding the cultivation of catfish in the aquaponic system of Budikdamber (bucket cultivation) to increase student creativity and open up business opportunities for students. This training activity is an illustration of how a bucket (budikdamber) can be used to increase student income and open up knowledge for students. Students can carry out cultivation activities with narrow land and lower costs, besides that this aquaponics system is also effective and efficient to be applied in schools. The cultivation method of catfish with the Budikdamber aquaponic system uses probiotics to maintain water quality during maintenance. The frequency of feeding is twice a day, namely in the morning and evening, the amount of feed given is based on the body weight of the fish. After participating in this activity, students can understand and carry out catfish cultivation with the aquaponic system of budikdamber (cultivating in buckets. The result of this service activity is the development of student insight about catfish farming in buckets (budikdamber) with an aquaponic system and also students' skills in processing and caring for catfish and cultivated plants.Furthermore, the development of catfish enlargement cultivation can optimize the use of available land to increase production yields. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Oodev and Turmeric flour on feed to accelerate the rematuration of female broodstock catfish for increasing seed production. Oodev hormone is believed to accelerate the maturation process of broodstock, while turmeric flour with its active ingredients can improve liver performance in the vitellogenesis process. The method was a non-factorial completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments are Control, (A) Oodev 0.3 ml/kg of feed, (B) Turmeric flour 5 gr/kg of feed, and (C) Combination of Oodev + Turmeric flour. The results showed that C treatment was the best treatment which produced a GSI value of 14.57 ±2.53%, period of rematuration was 32.33 ±4.16 days, egg diameter was 1.27 ±0.12 mm, fecundity was 22,939.97 ±880.38 eggs/kg of broodstock weight, fertilization rate was 80.18 ±9.75%, hatching rate was 79.80 ±2.88%, and larval survival reached 83.17 ±9.69%. Meanwhile, the specific growth of seed length in all treatments had no significant effect between treatments. The results of this study will certainly provide useful information for increasing catfish seed production both in Aceh and on a Nationally. This acceleration of maturation also has a positive impact in maximizing the available broodstock without having to increase the number of catfish broodstock to produce seeds of superior quality and benefit the cultivators.Keywords:EnrichmentFemale BroodstockPerformanceRematurationReproduction

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the effectiveness of giving probiotic for increasing the growth and digestibility of freshwater barramundi seed feed. The research was conducted on January 29 - February 28 2022 at the Kembang Tani Farm Lancang Barat Hacthery, North Aceh. The experimental research method used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments with 3 replications, namely Treatment A: Probiotic EM4 0 ml/kg feed, Treatment B: 9 ml/kg feed, Treatment C 12 ml/kg feed and Treatment D: 15 ml/kg feed. The best length gain was found in treatment D 2.36 cm. The best weight gain in treatment D was 1.91 grams. The best FCR in treatment D 1.5. Best survival in treatment D 86.67%.

Abstract

Milkfish is a leading commodity for Indonesian mariculture which is quite promising, so milkfish productivity must be increased. The problematic factor in cultivating milkfish is feed. Lamtoro leaves (Leucaena leucocephala) are a potential biological resource and have high protein content as a raw material for making feed. However, lamtoro has a high fiber content which can be reduced by fermenting using bio intan tani and attractants to cover the aroma of lamtoro which fish do not like. This research aims to test the effect of adding fermented lamtoro leaves to artificial feed on the growth of milkfish. The research was carried out on March 22 - April 22 2022 at Kembang Tani Farm Lancang Barat, North Aceh, Aceh. The research used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, Treatments A, B, C and D with concentrations of 0%, 15%, 20% and 25% respectively. Based on the F test analysis (ANOVA), the results gave a significant effect on feed response, weight gain, length increase, aroma with a Sig value < 0.05 and gave results that had no real effect on survival rate and feed conversion value with a Sig value > 0. 05.

Abstract

White snapper (Lates calcarifer) is one of the leading marineculture commodities in Indonesia, snapper has a relatively faster growth and has high economic value. One of the factors that cause failure in snapper cultivation in Indonesia is the high level of cannibalism in fish fry. The purpose of this study was the addition of tryptophan to feed whether it affected the level of cannibalism, growth and survival of white snapper. This study used a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) method consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were Treatment A (control), B (Tryptophan 1%/kg feed), C (Tryptophan 1.5 %/kg feed), D (Tryptophan 2%/kg feed. The lowest cannibalism of snapper was found in treatment B (Tryptophan 1%/kg of feed) with a cannibalism rate of 35.7% and a survival rate of 56.67%.
