Abstract

Increasingly fierce competition in the cosmetics industry in Indonesia encourages companies to increase brand awareness as part of a communication strategy in shaping a strong corporate image. Researchers conducted this study to determine the effect of Wardah Brand Awareness on PT Paragon Technology and Innovation's Corporate Image. This research uses a quantitative approach with an online survey method involving 100 respondents, namely followers of the @wardahbeauty Instagram account. Researchers analyzed the data using the Pearson correlation test and simple linear regression. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant influence between Brand Awareness and Corporate Image, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The Pearson correlation coefficient value of 0.590 indicates a fairly strong positive relationship between the two variables. In addition, the R Square value of 0.349 indicates that Brand Awareness affects 34.9% of the variation in Corporate Image, while the remaining 65.1% is influenced by other factors. This finding concludes that the higher the level of Wardah Brand Awareness, the more positive the public perception of the company's image. This study recommends that PT Paragon Technology and Innovation strengthen its brand communication strategy through more massive digital campaigns and develop Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to build public trust in a sustainable manner. Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbots have substantially reshaped the landscape of human-AI interaction, yet questions remain about the communicative behaviors users deploy in these exchanges and how they are shaped by AI system characteristics. This study investigates communication pattern typologies in human-chatbot interactions through qualitative thematic analysis of 150 conversation transcripts across customer service, mental health, and educational contexts. Grounded in social presence theory and affordance theory, and employing reflexive thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2022) with an interpretivist-constructivist epistemological stance, this study identified five typologies of communication patterns: adaptive mirroring (prevalent across the majority of transcripts, 78.7%), emotional scaffolding (frequently manifested, 65.3%), contextual anchoring (emergent in a substantial portion of conversations, 58.0%), conversational repair mechanisms (present in a considerable minority, 42.7%), and trust-building narratives (identified in over one-third of transcripts, 37.3%). These figures reflect descriptive frequency counts indicating the proportion of transcripts in which each pattern was observed; they serve as organizational summaries, not statistical evidence, and patterns are not mutually exclusive. The distribution of these patterns varied across demographic groups and interaction contexts, with younger participants showing comparatively greater communicative flexibility. Results suggest that users deploy socially patterned communicative behaviors in AI-mediated contexts that extend beyond purely task-oriented exchanges. These findings carry implications for designing AI systems that are attentive to the relational and contextual dimensions of user communication in healthcare, education, and customer service.

Abstract

Digital misinformation poses a significant and growing challenge to university students. They are among the most active consumers of online information, yet frequently struggle to distinguish credible content from fabrications. Despite widespread digital fluency, approximately 38% of students incorrectly evaluate the veracity of news headlines under controlled conditions. This study examined the prevalence of misinformation susceptibility among university students and evaluated the effectiveness of a structured, inoculation-grounded media literacy intervention. Using a quasi-experimental mixed-methods design, 200 undergraduate students were assigned through quota sampling to an intervention group (n = 100) and a waitlist control group (n = 100). No random assignment was employed; groups were matched on key demographic variables. Instruments included the Critical Media Literacy Self-Perception Instrument (CMLSPI; Neira et al., 2024) and the Misinformation Susceptibility Test (MIST-16; Maertens et al., 2024), both adapted into Bahasa Indonesia via forward-backward translation. Cronbach's alpha was .86 (CMLSPI) and .79 (MIST-16). Quantitative results demonstrated statistically significant gains in fake news detection accuracy (30% improvement; Cohen's d = 1.44, 95% CI [1.18, 1.70], p < .001) and self-perceived media literacy (eta2 = .18, p < .001) relative to the control group. Qualitative thematic analysis identified four themes: increased metacognitive awareness, adoption of verification strategies, recognition of cognitive and emotional manipulation, and structural barriers to sustained practice. These findings support the integration of inoculation-based prebunking with MIL competency training as an effective and theoretically grounded approach to building digital resilience among undergraduate students in Indonesia.

Abstract

The skincare industry has experienced rapid growth accompanied by excessive promotional claims lacking scientific basis, prompting the need for credible educational content. The TikTok account @dokterdetektif emerged in response to this issue by presenting products reviews based on laboratory test results. This study aims to measure the extent to which the credibility of @dokterdetektif TikTok account influences purchase intention of skincare products. A quantitative research method with a survey approach was used, involving 100 respondents who follow the @dokterdetektif account. The research instrument was developed based on Source Credibility Theory (expertise, trustworthiness, attractiveness) and purchase intention indicators (transactional, preferential, referential, exploratory). The results of a simple linear regression test show that the t value 10.456 > t table 1,984 with a significance level < 0.05, and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.527, indicating that content credibility explains 52,7% of the variation in purchase intention. These findings conclude that credible educational content on TikTok significantly influences purchase intention and has the potential to be an effective digital communication strategy on social media.

Abstract

Social media has become a strategic channel for digital recruitment platforms to build relationships with their audiences. One platform actively fostering closeness with job seekers on X is @deallsjobs, the official account of Dealls, a recruitment platform known for being responsive and closely connected to the job-seeking community on social media. This study aims to understand how Dealls manages its X account to build engagement and trust among job seekers. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study applies Regina Luttrell’s Circular of SoMe model as the analytical framework. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, in-depth interviews with the key informant managing the X account and a job seeker, as well as documentation of posts from the @deallsjobs account on X. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Dealls implements the four stages of the Circular of SoMe in an integrated manner. In the Share stage, Dealls distributes job vacancy content, career education, and motivational posts in a contextual and responsive way in relation to public discussions. In the Optimize stage, the X account administrator adjust the posting times, communication tone, and relevant issues according to user characteristics, including tapping into ongoing trends. In the Manage stage, the account maintains consistency through polite and relevant communication, including careful responses to sensitive issues via cross-team coordination. Lastly, in the Engage stage, Dealls builds personal connections with the audience through two-way interactions, empathetic replies, and a casual yet meaningful tone of communication. The study concludes that Dealls' social media management goes beyond mere information dissemination; it also focuses on fostering strong digital relationships with its audience. Consistent, responsive, and relevant management practices drive active engagement and help build trust, stemming from timely responses, empathetic communication, and a presence that aligns with job seekers' needs on the X platform. The engagement and trust developed through these practices also open up opportunities for the emergence of long-term digital loyalty.

Abstract

Abstract The current technological development is progressing rapidly, accompanied by advancements in communication processes, where the exchange of information occurs very easily, especially on social media. The existing social media platforms nowadays enable users to express opinions, experiences, and various other information, known as User-generated content (UGC). UGC related to company information could not be controlled by the company, even during the crisis. Therefore, this research aims to measure the influence of the types of content created by the public (dialogic content and narrative content) on the negative crisis emotions experienced by other members of the public. This research follows a positivist paradigm with a quantitative approach, conducting an experiment. The study assesses the changes in negative crisis emotions among the public regarding the crisis of the Sanmol syrup medication. The research sample consists of 118 respondents selected by purposive sampling techniques. The results of the study indicate that there is no significant change in negative crisis emotions after exposure to dialogic and narrative content treatments.
