Abstract

Perluasan kesempatan belajar dan persepsi keliru serta kecenderungan mendiskriminasikan anak penyandang disabilitas merupakan persoalan serius yang dihadapi oleh Desa Kromengan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah mewujudkan aksesibilitas dan kesetaraan hak untuk memperoleh pendidikan yang layak bagi anak disabiltas dalam bentuk rintisan kelompok belajar di Desa Kromengan, Kecamatan Kromengan, Kabupaten Malang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam beberapa tahapan diantaranya melakukan pendataan dan verifikasi data anak disabilitas usia sekolah yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan sosialisasi pentingnya pendidikan bagi anak disabilitas serta memberikan pendampingan langsung dalam bentuk kelompok belajar kepada anak-anak disabilitas. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah teridentifikasinya sejumlah anak disabilitas usia sekolah; berhasil memberikan edukasi tentang pentingnya pendidikan bagi anak disabilitas bagi orang tua dan seluruh komponen masyarakat; dan terwujudnya rintisan kelompok belajar bagi anak usia sekolah di Desa Kromengan. Kegiatan ini berdampak sangat besar dalam mewujudkan kepedulian masyarakat Desa Kromengan terhadap layanan pendidikan anak disabilitas usia sekolah dan mewujudkan kesempatan serta wadah belajar bagi anak disabilitas, sehingga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan taraf pendidikan dan kesejahteraan bagi anak disabilitas di Desa Kromengan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tetap menjaga aktivitas fisik yang dikemas dalam bentuk latihan atau olahraga pada lansia di masa pandemi ini menjadi penting. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi terhadap pentingnya aktivitas fisik disertai bentuk latihan atau olahraga berbasis rumah yang dapat dilakukan secara mandiri oleh lansia di Karang Werdha “PERMADI”, Kelurahan Tlogomas, Kota Malang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk edukasi ini menggunakan metode sokratik (two way method) yang lebih mengedepankan komunikasi dua arah dengan khalayak sasaran, materi disampaikan dengan ceramah disertai dengan curah pendapat dan demonstrasi. Model evaluasi ex-post digunakan untuk menilai kesesuaian antara hasil kegiatan dengan tujuannya. Sebanyak 32 peserta dari total 36 peserta (88,89%) merasakan bahwa materi kegiatan yang disampaikan bermanfaat menambah pengetahuan mereka, dan seluruh peserta (100%) menyampaikan materi yang disampaikan juga sudah sangat sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang diinginkan. Kegiatan pengabdian berhasil memberikan pemahaman pentingnya latihan fisik atau olahraga selama pandemi COVID-19 dan menghasilkan panduan agar dapat melakukan latihan atau olahraga secara mandiri di rumah atau di luar ruangan.Abstract: Maintaining physical activity that is packaged in the form of sports or exercise for the elderly during this pandemi is important. This community service activity aims to provide education about the importance of physical activity accompanied by exercises at home or sports that can be done independently by the elderly in Karang Werdha "PERMADI", Tlogomas Village, Malang City. This community service activity in the form of education uses the Socratic method (two-way method) which prioritizes two-way communication with the target audience, the material is delivered through lectures accompanied by brainstorming and demonstrations. The ex-post evaluation model is used to assess the suitability between the results of the activity and its objectives. A total of 32 participants out of a total of 36 participants (88.89%) felt that the material presented was useful to increase knowledge, and all participants (100%) conveyed that the material presented was also in accordance with the desired needs. Service activities have succeeded in providing an understanding of the importance of physical exercise or sports during the COVID-19 pandemi and resulted in guidelines for being able to exercise or exercise independently at home or outdoors.

Abstract

Exercise is commonly perceived as a pleasurable and healthy activity. However, it is classified as a complex activity that potentially enhances the formation of free radicals and oxidative stress. This study aims to analyze lipid peroxidation, as the biomarker of free radicals, in interval exercise. A total of 16 trained non-athlete male adolescents, aged 20-21 years old, with normal blood pressure, normal resting heart rate, and gave good level of physical fitness voluntarily participated in this study. The participants were randomly separated into two groups, namely the K1 (n=8, interval exercise with active resting medium intensity pedaling ergometer bike) and  K2 (n=8, interval exercise with resting without pedaling the ergometer bike). The interval exercise was carried out at 60-70% HRmax intensity for 35 minutes. The blood sample for Malondialdehyde (MDA) level analysis, as the lipid peroxidation biomarker, was taken using Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). The blood samples were collected before and after the interval exercise.  The obtained data were analyzed using the one-way ANOVA test with a 5% significance level. Our results suggest no significant different level of MDA, a lipid peroxidation biomarker, between the interval exercise with resting through medium intensity pedaling ergometer bike and the interval exercise with resting with no pedaling ergometer bike. However, the interval exercise resting through pedaling an ergometer bike presented relatively higher lipid peroxidation than the interval exercise resting without pedaling an ergometer bike. Therefore, following the free radical concept, interval exercise with resting through pedaling an ergometer bike is more beneficial than the exercise without pedaling an ergometer bike resting.

Abstract

Masalah: Saat ini obesitas telah menjadi ancaman serius bagi kesehatan global dengan tingkat prevalensi yang terus mengalami peningkatan di seluruh dunia. Latihan ditenggarai memiliki efek positif dalam meningkatkan sekresi irisin yang dapat berperan dalam mengatur oksidasi lemak dan memperbaiki gangguan metabolisme. Tujuan: Studi ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan efek latihan resisten intensitas sedang terhadap peningkatan kadar irisin pada wanita obesitas. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah true experimental dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Sebanyak 16 wanita obesitas, berusia 20-25 tahun ikut tergabung dalam penelitian yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol (K1; n = 8), kelompok latihan resisten (K2; n = 8). Latihan dilakukan dengan intensitas sedang (60-70% 1-RM), 4 set, 12 repetisi, durasi 45 menit, frekuensi 3x/minggu selama 8 minggu. Kadar irisin diukur pretest dan posttest menggunakan metode ELISA Kit. Uji Paired Sample T-Test digunakan untuk menganalisis data dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil: Hasil analisis kadar irisin antara pretest dengan posttest pada K1 (0.91±1.02 vs. 0.94±1.31 ng/mL; p=0.961), dan K2 (1.09±1.61 vs. 5.22±3.29 ng/mL; p=0.035). Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa latihan resisten yang dilakukan selama 8 minggu memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kadar irisin pada wanita obesitas.

Abstract

Aerobic exercise is rated as the most effective strategy for treating obesity. Aerobic exercise induces irisin to stimulate tissue browning. The important role of irisin in the regulation of metabolism and reduction of body fat is that it can increase energy expenditure. The method of this article is to look at several journal articles that compare one journal to another. In practice, the results of the analysis of research journals are combined based on their respective similarities and differences to produce new conclusions. The results Aerobic exercise induces the release of irisin via peroxisome proliferation activated receptor-γ (PPAR-γ) and PGC-1α. Exercise that is performed at intervals increases PGC-1α activation, especially in the heart and skeletal muscles and improves various metabolic parameters such as insulin sensitivity and signaling, promotes AMPK activation, PGC1α phosphorylation and FNDC5 production, followed by cleavage of FNDC5 to produce irisin which will be released into the blood circulation. . The release of irisin into the blood circulation activates the AMPK pathway by reducing intracellular ATP or by increasing the intracellular calcium concentration in muscle cells, causing increased glucose and lipid uptake and increased fat metabolism. Aerobic exercise can increase irisin in an obese person which has an effect on energy expenditure so that fat in the body is reduced and subsequently results in weight loss.

Abstract

Peroxisome proliferator activates gamma coactivator 1α (PGC-1α) receptors associated with oxidizing activity in adipose tissue and muscle, which is the prevention of increased obesity through non-pharmacological therapy. Physical exercise is believed to be a trigger for PGC-1α secretion as a strategy to prevent an increase in the prevalence of obesity and prevent the occurrence of metabolic syndrome. Physical exercise also improves metabolic health in obese individuals. Physical exercise is also believed to increase PGC-1α levels in obese individuals. after exercise, the thermogenic gene is expected to remain active. These conditions are favorable and attractive for the browning process to maintain homeostasis in response to a decrease in the AMP/ATP ratio and increased biogenesis in mitochondria. The decrease in AMP/ATP led to active AMPK, the ratio observed 3 hours after exercise. AMPK activation triggers activation of the PGC-1α gene receptor stimulating an increase in FNDC-5, which then cleaves into circulating irisin to activate UCP-1. Consequently, PGC-1α-induced UCP-1 activation enhances browning. The method of this article is to look at several journal articles and compare one journal with another, in the sense that the results of the analysis of research journals are combined based on their similarities and differences to draw new conclusions. According to previous studies, it was also shown that moderate and high-intensity exercise was proven to increase PGC-1α levels in obese individuals, both acutely and chronically.

Abstract

Peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-gamma coactivator 1 (PGC-1α) is closely related to metabolic status in obese patients. This study aims to analyze the response of lifting weights to increased levels of PGC-1α as a metabolic status in obese people. This study was a true experimental study with the randomized pretest-posttest control group design using 14 female adolescents aged 20-25, body mass index (BMI) 25-30 kg/m2, normal systolic blood pressure, normal resting heart rate, Percentage of body fat ≥ 30%, and divided into 2 groups randomly, namely the control group without intervention 7 subjects and the group given weight training intervention 6 subjects. PGC-1α levels were examined using the Enzyme Link Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit (Cat.No.:E-EL-H6017; Elabscience, Inc., USA). Data analysis techniques using SPSS version 21.0. The results of the analysis of the average pretest and posttest PGC-1α levels in K1 (1.19 ± 0.89 vs 1.27 ± 0.65 ng/mL, p = 0.746), and K2 (1.07 ± 0.26 vs 2.60 ± 0.40 ng/mL, p = 0.000). It is recommended for future research using male and female subjects, so that the results of the study can be generalized to both sexes.

Abstract

Literature review dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas fisik dalam pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani terhadap optimalisasi tumbuh kembang siswa yang ditinjau dari hormon pertumbuhan, insulin growth factor-1 dan hormon kortisol. Metode dalam penelitian ini mengakses database artikel yang menggunakan prosedur PICO dengan strategi pemilihan dan penyaringan data menggunakan alur PRISMA. Hasil analisis lebih lanjut berdasarkan konsep neurohormonal terdapat 12 artikel yang menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas fisik yang dikemas dalam pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani di sekolah mempengaruhi tumbuh kembang siswa. Diharapkan bagi pemangku kebijakan pendidikan, sebaiknya tidak menomor duakan mata pelajaran pendidikan jasmani atau menganggap sebagai mata pelajaran formalitas saja. Karena perlu adanya penyesuaian kurikulum pendidikan jasmani yang tidak hanya berfungsi menyehatkan jasmani tetapi juga mencetak SDM yang berkualitas unggul dalam aspek tumbuh kembang di masa kini dan yang akan datang.

Abstract

The design of this study is the randomized control group posttest-only design, 21 of Rattus Norvegicus Strain Wistar male, 20-24 weeks, 250 ± 350 grams and randomly divided into 3 groups namely CONT (n = 7, control without treatment), MIT (n = 7, moderate intensity training, treadmill with speed 14-16 m/min for 15-30 minutes listening to music tempo 160 beats/min) and HIT (n = 7, high intensity training, treadmill with speed 22-25 m/min for 15-30 minutes listening to music tempo 160 beats/min). The intervention was started from 17.00-20.00 WIB with a frequency of 3 times / week for 10 weeks. Blood is drawn for 12 hours after the last training. Measurement of IL-6 serum levels using the ELISA method. Data analysis techniques using ANOVA test and LSD post hoc test with the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the response of physical exercise as a modulation of PGC-1α to protect against the increasing prevalence of obesity. This research is a true experimental design with the randomized pretest-posttest control group design using 15 obese women aged 18-22 years, Body Mass Index (BMI) 25-35 kg/m2, normal blood pressure, Resting Heart Rate (RHR) normal, VO2max 25-35 ml/kg/min and randomly divided into three groups, namely CONT (n=5, Control Without Intervention), MIIE (n=5, Moderate Intensity Interval Exercise) and MICE (n=5, Moderate Intensity Continuous Exercise). The intervention was carried out at 07.00-09.00 a.m. MIIE and MICE interventions carried out for 40-45 minutes using a treadmill. Pre-exercise blood sampling and 10 minutes post-exercise. Measurement of PGC-1α levels used the Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) method. Data analysis techniques used ANOVA test and LSD post hoc test with the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS)
