Abstract

Abstract

The first objective of this activity is to increase knowledge and understanding of the rescue procedures, evacuation routes, and emergency response plans when a large earthquake occurs. The second objective is to increase the knowledge and ability to mobilize available resources. With this knowledge and capability, the community can choose and sort out the resources that must be prioritized, so that losses can be reduced as little as possible. Referring to the results of the study, reducing the impact of earthquake and tsunami disaster risk is greatly influenced by emergency response plan factors, disaster warning system factors, knowledge factors, policy and guidance factors, and the ability of team mobilization. The conclusion obtained from the results of this activity is that the Air Rami Sub-district community gained increased knowledge and understanding of earthquake and tsunami mitigation. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of stakeholders and the public in participating in socialization activities. It is also supported by the Wilcoxon statistical test, the result showed that socialization increases public knowledge in understanding disaster mitigation, especially earthquakes and tsunamis.

Abstract

Small Area Estimation is a statistical method used to estimate parameters in sub-populations with small or even no sample sizes. This research aims to evaluate the Beta-Binomial model's performance for estimating small areas at the area level. The estimation method used is Hierarchical Likelihood (HL). The data used are simulation data and empirical data. Simulation studies were used to investigate the proposed model. The estimator's Mean Squared Error of Prediction (MSEP) and Absolute Bias (AB) estimator values determine the best estimation criteria. An empirical study using data on the illiteracy rate at the sub-district level in Bengkulu Province. The results of the simulation study show that, in general, the parameter estimators are nearly unbiased. Proportion prediction has the same tendency as parameters. Finally, the HL estimator has a small MSEP estimator. The results of an empirical study show that the average illiteracy rate in Bengkulu province is quite diverse. Kepahiang District has the highest average illiteracy rate in Bengkulu Province in 2021.

Abstract

Abstract

PT Cipta Graha Garwita (CGG) is a palm oil producer focused on product quality, especially crude palm oil (CPO) for both food and non-food applications. Despite CGG's good reputation, variability in quality characteristics such as Free Fatty Acid (FFA) and moisture can affect the final quality of CPO. This study aims to apply a statistical quality control system to monitor and improve the consistency of CPO quality using T² Hotelling control charts. Statistical quality control methods ensure that products meet standards by reducing variability. One such tool is the T² Hotelling control chart, effective for monitoring multivariate variables using mean vectors and variance-covariance matrices. This study involves steps from data collection, testing multivariate normality assumptions, calculating T² Hotelling control charts, to determining control limits. Testing for multivariate normality assumptions showed the data met normal distribution criteria. The first and second stage T² Hotelling control charts identified several out-of-control observations. These out-of-control observations were excluded, and further analysis showed that after their removal, all data were within statistical control limits. This study recommends further analysis to determine the causes of out-of-control observations using Ishikawa diagrams and process capability evaluation to ensure consistent product quality.
