Abstract

Abstract: Non-formal education plays a strategic role in expanding access to education and improving the quality of human resources, particularly for communities underserved by formal education. One of the non-formal education units that plays a significant role in this context is the Non-Formal Education Unit of Learning Activity Center (SPNF-SKB). This study aims to analyze the learning management strategies of the non-formal education Package C program at SPNF-SKB Morowali and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects included the head of SPNF-SKB Morowali, equivalency education tutors, and active learners. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that learning management strategies at SPNF-SKB Morowali are implemented through three main stages: learning planning based on learners’ needs, contextual and participatory learning implementation using an andragogical approach, and learning evaluation emphasizing the achievement of functional competencies. Supporting factors include strong managerial commitment and adaptive tutor roles, while inhibiting factors include limited facilities, digital literacy constraints, and geographical conditions. The study concludes that adaptive and contextual learning management is a key determinant of the effectiveness of non-formal education implementation at SPNF-SKB Morowali. Abstract

This ethnographic study investigates the Ammatoa Kajang customary system in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, focusing on its "Pasang" tradition, which promotes simple living, reverence for nature, and resistance to modernization that threatens environmental balance. The research aims to examine the community's social structure, the role of Ammatoa leadership, and the customary rules shaping behavior and environmental interaction. Using participant observation and in-depth interviews with indigenous leaders, the study reveals that the "Pasang" tradition serves as a comprehensive guide for sustainable natural resource management. Customary norms, such as prohibiting tree felling and prioritizing forest conservation, have enabled the community to maintain ecological equilibrium. The findings underscore the significance of local wisdom in supporting environmental sustainability. This research contributes to cultural anthropology education by offering insights into indigenous governance and resilience. It also provides a valuable perspective for conservation policies that recognize and integrate the role of indigenous peoples in safeguarding both natural and cultural heritage.
