ABSTRACTÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â This study aims to find out whether there is or not a significant effect of using Mystery photo in improving studentsâ vocabulary achievement at the VII A grade of SMP Negeri 2 Oheo. The research question in this study âis there any significant effect of studentsâ vocabulary achievement after being taught through Mystery photo at the VII A grade of SMP Negeri 2 Oheo?â This study used quasi experimental design. The sample of this research was 60 students which divided into two classes. In collecting the data, the researcher used vocabulary test which consists of multiple-choice, fill in the blank and matching test. In conducting this study, the researcher taught experimental class by using Mystery photo without a control class. The result of this study showed that the teaching of vocabulary by using Mystery photo could improve the studentsâ vocabulary achievement at the VII grade of SMP Negeri 2 Oheo. It can be proved that the analysis of tcount 5.745 was higher than ttable 1.671 after consulting the ttable at the significant level 0.05 and the degree of freedom 58. Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted.Keywords: Â mystery photo, vocabulary achievement, studentsâ improvement

This study aimed to describe the implementation of microteaching activity by pre-service teachers in TEFL 2 class as well as to get an overview of the problems faced during microteaching so that they are able to improve the competence of teaching English later in both schools and other educational institutions. In this study, the method used was descriptive qualitative. The subject of the study were taken purposively by considering the achievement gained in previous subject namely in TEFL I class they reached the average value of 90 out of 100 with the number of subjects four (4) pre-service teachers. Data were collected through observation using video recording and field note as well as semi structured-interview. Aspects to be analyzed were methods used from opening, main, and closing activities by considering the characteristics of the method applied. The results of this study showed that Grammar Translation Method (GTM) and Audio-Lingual Method (ALM) became a method preference during the microteaching. Pre-service teachers showed no hesitation and well prepared in applying the methods. Translation activities, dialogue memorization, repetition technique, word pair technique, and game grammar technique were occurred. Problems faced were the gap between the theories and the practice of teaching methods such as lack of skills in facial and body expression, classroom management, and stresses with noises from classmates as the students

Media pembelajaran merupakan salah satu komponen pelajaran yang mempunyai peranan penting dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Adapun bahan baku pembuatan media sangat variatif, salah satu bahan baku media yang ekonomis, ramah lingkungan dan bernilai kreatifitas tinggi adalah media pembelajaran yang diciptakan dari limbah plastik dan kertas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana pemanfaatan Limbah Plastik dan Kertas (LIPSTIK) sebagai media pengajaran Bahasa Inggris serta bagaimana jenis pemanfaatan LIPSTIK. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Guru Bahasa Inggris pada Sekolah Dasar, yaitu Sekolah dasar yang menjadikan Bahasa Inggris sebagai muatan lokal dalam kurikulumnya. maka penelitian yang akan dilakukan ini dibatasi pada sekolah dasar di provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara, yaitu Kota Kendari. Penelitian tentang pemanfaatan LIPSTIK sebagai meengajaran Bahasa Inggris sekolah dasar di Sulawesi Tenggara ini akan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode wawancara mendalam (Depth Interviews) dan field Observation untuk menggali informasi dari informan tentang pemanfaatan LIPSTIK sebagai media ajar. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa sekolah dasar negeri yang menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini tak satupun yang menjadikan LIPSTIK sebagai media pengajaran pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris namun memanfaatkan LIPSTIK sebagai media tanam dan juga kerajinan tangan sebagai hiasan yang digunakan di ruang kelas.

Community radio established to fulfill the information and communication needs of the community members. The purpose can be achieved when its existence used by community members. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to analyze the utilization of community radio as the information and communication media for society in Southeast Sulawesi. The study was used a qualitative approach, while the research subject was Radio Fajar FM that was located in Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri (STAIN) Kendari. The informants in this study were 7 parties. The data collection techniques were used the observation method, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results showed that the the utilization of community radio in Southeast Sulawesi was still less frequency channel that was provided exclusively for community radio in Southeast Sulawesi was not used optimal. Tujuan tersebut dapat dicapai ketika keberadaannya dimanfaatkan oleh anggota komunitas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menganalisis pemanfaatan radio komunitas sebagai media informasi dan komunikasi bagi masyarakat di Sulawesi Tenggara. Kegiatan belajar di Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) saat ini lebih banyak memanfaatkan alat atau teknologi kekinian yang minim aktifitas fisik. Akibatnya motorik anak kurang terlatih. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak usia dini melalui permaian sirkuit bola keranjang. Studi dilakukan di Kelompok B Taman Kanak-kanak Napabale Kelurahan Lalodati Kecamatan Puuwatu, Kota Kendari. Peneliti menerapkan prosedur penelitian tindakan. Nilai PAP 75% dijadikan sebagai standar keberhasilan secara klasikal. Tindakan dilakukan dalam 2 siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 2 pertemuan dan evaluasi hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian didapati permainan bola keranjang berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak usia dini. Permainan ini memenuhi prinsip-prinsip sebuah permainan sebagai media belajar di Pendidikan PAUD.

This study was conducted to describe the teacher’s process of teaching English by implementing project-based learning method during the pandemic covid-19 by using Whatsapp. This study use qualitative design and the data collection techniques used observation sheet, and interview. The data analysis uses Miles Huberman and Saldana concept and the participant of this study only one teacher who teaches in the 7th grade at SMPS Kartika XX-6 Kendari. The results showed that based on the project-based learning steps in the 2013 curriculum, the teacher only applies 4 steps such as: 1) creating a set schedule means the teacher determines the time when student projects must be collected. 2) monitoring student projects because learning is done online, so teachers involve parents in monitoring students during the learning process and completing projects, 3) assessing student's outcomes, the teacher assigns a value to the student project according to the scoring rubric created, 4) evaluating students' experiences, the teacher provides feedback to students so they can correct the mistakes they made. The teacher gives a project in the form of a video regarding conversations about greetings, self-introductions and talking about daily activities with the aim that students get used to speaking in English. Project work is carried out individually by students due to the online learning process as a result of the covid-19 pandemic which was submitted by using WhatsApp.

Salah satu jajanan yang bisa dikembangkan dan bahan bakunya cukup banyak dijumpai di berbagai tempat, serta prospeknya sangat bagus yaitu keripik pisang. Desa Tongalere, Kecamatan Wawonii Utara, Kabupaten Kepulauan Konawe merupakan salah satu daerah dengan sumber daya pisang yang melimpah, yang selama ini hanya dijual mentah tanpa ada pengolahan untuk menambah nilai ekonomi pisang. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat masih perlu ditingkatkan. Rendahnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah pisang menjadi keripik yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi memerlukan perhatian dari berbagai pihak, salah satunya dengan mengadakan pelatihan pembuatan keripik pisang. Salah satu tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat, khususnya ibu-ibu tim penggerak dalam membuat keripik pisang yang dapat dijadikan usaha rumah tangga dan menambah pendapatan keluarga. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam pengabdian ini adalah terciptanya produk keripik pisang bumbu Tela-tela buatan ibu-ibu PKK di Desa Tongalere, tingkat partisipasi masyarakat meningkat, sehingga kegiatan yang dilakukan dapat memberikan dampak positif bagi mereka; meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam membuat keripik pisang sehingga kedepannya mampu membuat sendiri bahkan bisa membuka usaha rumahan sebagai alternatif usaha keluarga.

This study aimed to reveal the teaching techniques that are used by the teacher in teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL) at SDN 3 Baruga Kendari. This study applied descriptive qualitative design. Subject of this study is the teacher of class 4A in SDN 3 Baruga. She was taken through purposive sampling technique. To obtain the data it used observation sheet and interview. The observation was conducted to identify the teaching techniques that were applied by the teacher in teaching EYL. The interview was enabling the writer to recheck the data of the process of classroom by looking at teachers’ point of view. The result of the study indicated that the teacher used seven techniques namely listen and repeat, question and answer, listen and do, draw and color, brainstorming, pair work and group discussion. Those techniques were reliable to be applied in teaching EYL. Among those techniques the teacher mostly applied listen and repeat. This technique helped students to remember what they had learned easily and stimulated students’ sense of listening. Considering the advantages of listen and repeat, it could be teacher’s opinion to make effective the teaching and learning process in order to increase students’ ability.Keywords: Teachers’ Technique, Teaching EYL

This study is a classroom action research (CAR) on utilizing animation video in teaching vocabulary to young learners. Therefore, the objective of this study is to find whether the use of animation video can improve vocabulary mastery of grade IV students of SD Negeri 2 Baruga. This research is conducted within two cycles in which each cycle consisted of three meetings. Either first cycle or second cycle consisted of planning, action, observation/evaluation, and reflection. The subject of this study was students at grade IV of SD Negeri 2 Baruga. A number of the students in the class were 30 with 8 male and 22 female. Then, the instruments were used in this study include observation sheet of teacher’s and students’ activity, and vocabulary test. The researcher found that teaching English by using animation video can improve students’ vocabulary at grade IV of SD Negeri 2 Baruga. The improvement could be seen in the result of students’ achievement after conducting this study was 93 % proved that it achieved classical achievement. Moreover, percentage of teacher’s and student’s activity also achieved 82.14% and 68.70%. On other words, the students’ vocabulary at grade IV of SD Negeri 2 Baruga improved by using animation video.Keywords: Animation video, Vocabulary and Young Learner
