Abstract

UMKM yang ada di Indonesia mempunyai peran yang cukup besar dalam meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Akan tetapi seiring semakin banyaknya UMKM, dalam perkembangannya tidak selalu memberikan dampak positif namun juga dapat memberikan dampak negative seperti dalam melaksanakan usahanya dapat berpotensi dalam menghasilkan limbah yang dapat menyebabkan tercemarnya lingkungan hidup di sekitarnya. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan suatu komitmen dari pelaku usaha dalam melakukan pengelolaan lingkungan dalam menjalankan kegiatan usahanya, salah satu bentuk komitmen dari pelaku usaha yaitu Surat Pernyataan Pengelolaan Lingkungan (SPPL) yang diperuntukkan bagi usaha dengan skala mikro, kecil ataupun menengah.

Abstract

Aktivitas ekonomi masyarakat Lingkungan Kunjung Mae sangat bergantung pada wilayah pesisir dengan sumber mata pencaharian utama sebagai nelayan. Selain aktivitas ekonomi, aktivitas pemukiman di wilayah pesisir akan memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap perubahan kondisi fisik lingkungan pesisir. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat untuk perbaikan sanitasi keluarga dan menjaga kebersihan lingkungan guna mencegah pencemaran. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode interaktif yakni ceramah menggunakan media power point dan diskusi langsung dengan memberikan pemaparan terkait pemahaman dan pentingnya sanitasi lingkungan, jenis sampah dan cara pengelolaannya. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 67% (20 orang) peserta belum tahu tentang sanitasi dan pengolahan sampah. Untuk pengolahan sampah, selama ini masyarakat Lingkungan Kunjungmae hanya mengumpulkan sampah pada lahan kosong kemudian dibakar. Hasil post-test menunjukkan bahwa setelah penyampaian materi dan diskusi sudah ada peningkatan pemahaman yakni 50% peserta sudah tahu dan 50% cukup tahu. Hal ini berarti bahwa tidak ada lagi peserta yang belum tahu tentang pentingnya sanitasi dan pengolahan sampah yang baik dan benar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of mangrove land conversion on the social life of the community and describe the form of sustainable mangrove area management in Tapak Kuda Village, Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency. The research method used is a mixed research method. A mixed research method is a research method that combines or associates quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of the study indicate that the social impact of mangrove land conversion results in changes in the social conditions of the community based on employment opportunities of 66.36% in the high category. Based on the income level of 83.13% which means high. Based on the level of education 69.46% in the high category, meaning that it illustrates that the state of education in this village is still low. Based on the pattern of ownership and use of natural resources 53.50% of the answer category is not high. Based on the condition of natural resource use 45.52% in the high category. The process of implementing community-based mangrove forest management in Tapak Kuda Village, Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency consists of several stages as follows: a) Planning stage; b) Implementation stage; c) Maintenance stage; and d) Monitoring stage. In conclusion, the conversion of mangrove land has an impact on the social life of the community in Tapak Kuda Village, Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency.   Keywords: Impact, Conversion of Function, Mangrove Land, Social Conditions of the Community, Environmental Costal Management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of mining activities on the environment and evaluate the effectiveness of revegetation processes in restoring ecosystem balance in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province. Mining activities carried out by PT. Pertamina Hulu Rokan have caused deforestation due to tree cutting for land clearing, contributing to habitat disruption for flora and fauna, declining water quality, and increasing global warming. The research method includes literature review, field observations, and interviews with relevant stakeholders. The revegetation process consists of three main stages: land preparation, planting implementation, and maintenance. Additionally, plant species used in revegetation are selected based on suitable characteristics such as resistance to sunlight exposure, fast growth with low costs, high litter production that decomposes easily, strong root systems, and the ability to form symbiotic relationships with specific microbes. The results indicate that revegetation using a combination of ground cover plants, primary plants, and companion plants can improve post-mining environmental conditions, increase oxygen availability, and aid in global warming prevention. Thus, revegetation serves as an effective strategy in post-mining ecosystem restoration efforts.   Keywords: Environment, Post-Mining, Global Warming, Revegetation, Plants

Abstract

This study aimed to assess carbon stock potential and carbon sequestration as part of environmental services contributing to carbon emission reduction in Kiarapayung Biodiversity Park. The method applied was a Permanent Sample Plot (PSP) design modified from and integrating the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 7724:2011 and the Rapid Carbon Stock Appraisal (RaCSA) method developed by ICRAF Southeast Asia. Measurements and calculations were conducted on five carbon pools using a combined approach, consisting of a census-based method for aboveground biomass assessment and a sampling-based method for the remaining four carbon pools. The results indicate that the average carbon potential in Kiarapayung Biodiversity Park was 68.18 ton ha⁻¹, equivalent to 250.22 ton CO₂e ha⁻¹. Block 6 recorded the highest carbon stock at 157.02 ton ha⁻¹ (576.25 ton CO₂e ha⁻¹), followed by Block 7 and Block 2 with carbon stocks of 77.23 ton ha⁻¹ (283.43 ton CO₂e ha⁻¹) and 60.74 ton ha⁻¹ (222.92 ton CO₂e ha⁻¹), respectively. Lower carbon potentials were observed in Blocks 8, 3, 5, and 1, ranging from 55.47 to 43.75 ton ha⁻¹ or equivalent to 203.59–222.92 ton CO₂e ha⁻¹. Blocks 1 and 5 exhibited the lowest carbon potentials, amounting to 41.84 and 34.97 ton ha⁻¹ or equivalent to 128.33 and 153.56 ton CO₂e ha⁻¹, respectively. In conclusion, Kiarapayung Biodiversity Park serves not only as a conservation area but also has considerable potential to be developed as a forest- and carbon-based ecotourism and edutourism site. Such development may be supported through digital carbon data utilization using QR codes, appropriate species selection, educational games and quizzes related to carbon data, integration of carbon economic value into environmental service payment mechanisms, and the establishment of a living laboratory focused on carbon research. Abstract

As an educational institution with a high number of civitas and activities, activities at Islamic boarding schools have the potential to have a large impact on the environment. However, the term environmental management system is still not very popular within the Islamic boarding school environment. Through mixed descriptive analysis (qualitative-qualitative), this paper attempts to explain the gap between the implementation of an environmental management system at the Al Jauhar Islamic Boarding School and ISO 14001:2015. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the environmental management system at the Al Jauhar Islamic Boarding School is still not optimal. This condition is indicated by the few criteria that comply with ISO 14001:2015. These findings suggest the importance of the involvement of the government and academics in providing an understanding regarding the importance of an environmental management system to be implemented in an educational institution with high activity such as Islamic boarding schools. The information conveyed regarding environmental management should not have implications for increasing the financial burden for Islamic boarding schools, but instead support increasing economic efficiency so that managers are willing to voluntarily implement ISO 14001:2015.

Abstract

The Kendilo River is an important water source in Paser Regency, used for domestic, agricultural, industrial, and raw water needs. The Kendilo River experiences pressure from anthropogenic activities that cause pollution. This study aims to analyze the quality status and trends of the Kendilo River's water quality for the period 2019-2024. The method used is quantitative descriptive with secondary data from water quality monitoring from nine monitoring points representing the upstream, middle, and downstream segments of the river. The assessment of water quality status was carried out using the Pollution Index based on Class II water quality standards in accordance with Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021. The variables analyzed were pH, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids, total dissolved solids, ammonia, nitrate, total phosphate, and fecal coliform. The results showed that the water quality status of the Kendilo River was generally classified as lightly polluted. The pollution index value increased in the period 2019-2021, then showed an improving trend until 2024, although not evenly distributed across all monitoring points. Total suspended solids were the most dominant and consistent primary pollutant. Furthermore, increases in organic load were indicated by biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, and total phosphate. The study's conclusions underscore the need for integrated and sustainable water quality management of the Kendilo River to prevent further degradation and maintain the river's function for the environment and community.

Abstract

This community service program was implemented in Kurung Kambing Village, Mandalawangi District, Pandeglang Regency, which faces the problem of declining soil fertility due to dependence on chemical fertilizers and low water absorption capacity, which causes flooding during the rainy season and drought during the dry season. This activity aims to increase the community's capacity to apply environmentally friendly agricultural technologies through training in the production of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) containing phytohormones and biopore infiltration holes. The implementation method was carried out in three stages: preparation, training, and evaluation. The training materials included the theory and practice of making POC from local ingredients such as shallots and corn, as well as techniques for creating and maintaining biopores for water conservation. The program was actively participated in by the community and local farmer groups through demonstrations and field practice. Evaluation results showed that participants were able to produce POC independently and apply biopore technology to their agricultural land. Most participants demonstrated an increased understanding of soil fertility management and water conservation, and reported improved plant growth and increased crop productivity compared to before the training. The application of biopores also provided tangible benefits in the form of reduced waterlogging during the rainy season and maintained soil moisture during the dry season. In addition to improving the technical aspects of cultivation, this program has successfully increased community awareness, independence, and confidence in adopting sustainable agricultural technologies. Thus, the integration of phytohormone-enriched Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) and biopores provides a simple, locally resource-based technology that is effective in supporting agricultural resilience and environmental conservation at the village level.

Abstract

The implementation of an Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001:2015 is a strategic instrument for improving environmental performance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This study aims to analyze the level of conformity of the Environmental Management System implementation at PT XYZ with the ISO 14001:2015 standard based on internal audit results using a gap analysis approach. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method with gap analysis of data obtained from the ISO 14001:2015 audit checklist. The analysis was conducted by comparing the actual implementation conditions of each clause with the standard requirements and subsequently classifying them according to their level of conformity. The results indicate that the implementation of the Environmental Management System generally falls within the moderately compliant category across most clauses. The highest levels of conformity were found in resource provision (100%), the scope of the Environmental Management System (87.5%), and risks and opportunities (87.5%). However, a significant gap was identified in the aspect of roles, responsibilities, and authorities (33.3%), which was categorized as poorly compliant. In addition, regulatory compliance, environmental objectives, monitoring, and internal audits each achieved a conformity level of 50%, indicating that their implementation has not yet been carried out consistently.
