Abstract

Abstrak: Film Singsot memiliki latar budaya Jawa, yang mana masyarakat Jawa memiliki kepercayaan dilarang bersiul pada malam hari karena diyakini dapat mendatangkan musibah. Melalui narasi penyampaian pesan kepada penonton dapat digunakan dalam film. Hal ini dikarenakan narasi memiliki kaitan dengan cara bercerita yang disajikan kepada penonton melalui film. Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui larangan yang diyakini oleh masyarakat Jawa dalam narasi cerita Film Singsot. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis narasi Tzvetan Todorov yang mengatakan bahwa narasi memiliki 3 struktur bagian yaitu bagian awal, tengah, dan akhir. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa narasi dalam film Singsot digambarkan sesuai dengan narasi dari Todorov yang kemudian dimodifikasi oleh Nick Lacey dan Gillespie. Selain itu, unsur mise en scene juga turut menambah suasana dalam film. Mitos dalam film ini memiliki simbol yaitu film ini dapat dikatakan film yang berisi pesan moral tentang norma, etika, dan acuan moral dalam kehidupan. Larangan tentang bersiul dapat dimaksudkan agar tidak mengganggu orang yang sedang beristirahat di malam hari.Kata kunci: Mitos, Naratif, Film Singsot Abstract: Film Singsot has a Javanese cultural background, where Javanese people believe that it is forbidden to whistle at night because it is believed to bring disaster. Through narration, conveying messages to the audience can be used in films. This is because narrative is related to the way stories are presented to the audience through films. This research aims to find out the prohibitions believed by the Javanese people in the narrative of the film Singsot. This research uses Tzvetan Todorov's narrative analysis, which says that narratives have 3 part structures, namely the beginning, middle and end. The results of this research show that the narrative in the film Singsot is depicted in accordance with Todorov's narrative which was then modified by Nick Lacey and Gillespie. Apart from that, the mise en scene element also adds to the atmosphere of the film. The myth in this film has a symbol, namely this film can be said to be a film that contains a moral message about norms, ethics and moral references in life. The prohibition on whistling may be intended to not disturb people who are resting at night.Keyword: Myth, Narrative, Film Singsot

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the pattern of family communication in the film "Ngeri-ngeri Sedap". Film Ngeri-ngeri Sedap 2022 directed by Bene Dion tells the story of a family drama, telling the story of Pak Domu and Mak Domu who live with Sarma, their only daughter. The husband-and-wife couple wanted their three sons who had wandered for a long time to come home to attend a traditional event. But their three children refused because their relationship was not harmonious. This research was conducted with a type of qualitative research using the semiotic analysis model developed by John Fiske. The results of this study indicate that the communication in this film is quite problematic. This can be seen in the results of John Fiske's research on three levels of semiotics, namely the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology. The level of reality shows that the pattern of family communication implemented in this film has a paternalistic, namely a pattern where only one family member controls the family. Abstract

Mitos kecantikan melahirkan alat yamg memfeminisasikan perempuan sehingga menyebabkan merasa tertekan dan terjebak karena kondisi fisiknya. Wanita cantik selalu memiliki tempat istimewa di kehidupan masyarakat. Dengan film Backstage ini mendeskripsikan standar kecantikan perempuan yang dipengaruhi oleh mitos kecantikan. Tulisan ini juga berusaha untuk meilhat mitos standar kecantikan yang dialami perempuan untuk memahami makna denotasi dan konotasi dalam film. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa mitos kecantikan diciptakan oleh patriarki untuk memiliki kendali atas tubuh perempuan. Mitos kecantikan berhasil menguat, tetapi juga bisa mengakar di masyarakat karena selalu disosialisasikan terus-menerus. Makna indah tubuh wanita yang terlihat dalam film Backstage menciptakan sebuah realitas bahwa standar kecantikan menjadi penyebab body shaming yang disebabkan oleh norma kecantikan sosial. Penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa adanya persepsi yang tidak stabil tentang masyarakat patriarkis terhadap idealisasi perempuan dan tubuhnya. Kecantikan fisik dengan tubuh langsing yang disosialisasikan sebagai sesuatu cita-cita tidak boleh membuat perempuan terikat dan menyudutkan

Abstract

Thrifting, the increasingly popular activity of shopping for used clothes, came under scrutiny when the government banned the import of used goods. This study aims to analyze thrifting consumer communication experiences regarding prohibiting imports of used goods and their impact on local industries. In the phenomenological approach, the researcher explores the meaning of thrifting consumers' experiences related to popular culture and wasteful behavior. Studies show that thrifting as a shopping alternative can help overcome the problem of turning off expensive and low-quality local goods. This is because thrifting provides foreign goods at lower prices and good quality. Even so, the issue of local products of inferior quality and expensive remains an obstacle that must be overcome. Possible solutions include improving the quality of local products, providing education and information to the public, and improving the quality of thrifting services and products. Thus, this problem can be overcome with solutions from the government, local producers, and consumers so that it can positively impact the economy and the environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas penggunaan teknik pergerakan kamera dalam film Penyalin Cahaya, sebuah karya perfilman Indonesia yang menyoroti isu sosial melalui pendekatan sinematik yang khas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis secara mendalam bagaimana teknik pergerakan kamera termasuk panning, tracking, zooming, dolly, dan crab movement dimanfaatkan untuk mendukung narasi, membangun atmosfer, serta mengarahkan emosi penonton. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis isi, di mana data primer diperoleh melalui cuplikan adegan film yang relevan, sementara data sekunder dikumpulkan dari kajian literatur terkait teori sinematografi dan teknik pergerakan kamera. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik pergerakan kamera dalam film ini digunakan secara strategis untuk menegaskan dinamika naratif, memperkuat pesan kritik sosial, dan menciptakan pengalaman visual yang imersif bagi penonton. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan teknik pergerakan kamera dalam film Penyalin Cahayatidak hanya meningkatkan nilai estetika visual, tetapi juga berkontribusi signifikan dalam penyampaian pesan sosial dan pembentukan emosi. Temuan ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi sineas dan akademisi dalam mengembangkan teknik sinematografi di industri perfilman Indonesia.

Abstract

One Piece merupakan salah satu karya manga dan anime paling berpengaruh yang menampilkan karakter Monkey D. Luffy sebagai simbol kepemimpinan yang kuat dan menginspirasi. Karakterisasi Luffy menunjukkan nilai-nilai pantang menyerah, keberanian, dan kesetiaan yang membentuk loyalitas krunya dan memengaruhi jalannya cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi kepemimpinan Luffy dalam anime One Piece Episode 1070 melalui analisis semiotika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menerapkan analisis semiotika dan kerangka kerja tiga level kode-kode televisi John Fiske untuk mengurai makna kepemimpinan yang tertanam dalam episode tersebut. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa representasi kepemimpinan dikonstruksikan melalui penggambaran perilaku Monkey D. Luffy sebagai kapten bajak laut, yang mencerminkan sifat ambisius dan berani dalam mencapai tujuannya. Representasi ini dielaborasi lebih lanjut melalui analisis struktur naratif, tanda, dan ideologi yang terkandung dalam episode. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam memahami representasi kepemimpinan dalam konteks budaya dan sosial di mana Anime One Piece dibuat dan ditayangkan. Temuan ini menawarkan wawasan berharga tentang bagaimana pesan kepemimpinan disampaikan dan diinterpretasikan oleh penonton.

Abstract

The lack of Indonesian culinary-themed films that discuss public health literacy is reflected in the limited number of titles available. The film, Aruna dan Lidahnya, is a topic of discussion as it raises issues related to culinary tourism, religion, public policy, and public health literacy, specifically the avian influenza virus outbreak, which has objective and subjective dimensions. This study aims to discover how culinary films are constructed in health literacy and why the film is constructed as a form of health literacy. This qualitative study uses a case study approach to investigate how and why culinary films are constructed as a form of health literacy, specifically focusing on the film Aruna dan Lidahnya. The researchers used primary and secondary data from the film from literature studies and observations and applied data analysis techniques to interpret the data. The film Aruna dan Lidahnya promotes the potential of local cuisine as a unique attraction to grow the economy of tourist destinations. It also emphasizes the importance of health communication in raising public awareness about the avian influenza virus and following health protocols. The film highlights the need for cultural and local wisdom-based tourism development for a more ethical and aesthetic tourist attraction. Aruna dan Lidahnya is a film that highlights the potential of local cuisine in developing tourist destinations in four cities affected by the avian influenza virus. Developing tourist destinations based on local cuisine can improve social welfare and the area's economy and be a unique attraction for cultural tourism. The film also emphasizes the importance of health communication, following health protocols, and spreading awareness about the avian influenza virus in the context of local culinary opportunities.

Abstract

This study aims to explain factors that influence people to continue disseminating the infodemic even when they have a high level of education. This research uses a qualitative approach with data mined using interview techniques and literature studies. The qualitative research gathered data through in-depth online interviews and literature studies. Key informants, including experts in Communication Science, Religion, Social Media, and Health, were interviewed using semi-structured interviews, allowing for flexible yet focused discussions. The study's findings identify 12 factors contributing to the continued spread of the infodemic, including social media ownership, a critical attitude towards information, information-seeking skills, emotional maturity in processing information, the demands of daily life, the frequency of social media use, social media friend networks, efforts to enhance digital literacy, a tendency to avoid seeking information clarification, a narrow interpretation of religious teachings, belief in conspiracy theories, and specific underlying motives. This research contributes significantly by shedding light on this pressing issue, offering insights crucial for formulating evidence-based policies and interventions to enhance digital literacy and effectively counter the infodemic. Future researchers should concentrate on investigating motive aspects. Moreover, rigorous statistical tests in quantitative research can also be considered to enhance the depth of analysis, providing a quantitative measure of the influence exerted by each identified factor.

Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of comics as a strategic communication tool for health promotion, utilizing a qualitative analysis of literature and examples from the “Sehat Negeriku” website managed by the Indonesian Ministry of Health. The multifaceted nature of comics, incorporating visual storytelling and character-driven narratives, offers a unique method for conveying complex health messages in an accessible and engaging manner. This research identifies several key advantages of comics in health communication, including increased appeal and interest among diverse demographics, enhanced memory retention through visual cues, emotional engagement that deepens message impact, stimulated creativity and imagination, and the ability to reach a broad audience. Data collection involved a thorough review of existing literature and content analysis of health communication comics, focusing on their structure, content, and reception. The findings highlight how comics, by blending entertainment with educational content, can effectively reduce resistance to health messages, facilitate behavioral change, and contribute to public health knowledge. Furthermore, the study underscores the importance of considering cultural relevance and audience-specific characteristics in comic design to maximize their educational impact. This paper contributes to the understanding of visual communication in public health and supports the integration of comics into broader health promotion strategies.

Abstract

Seni sinema merupakan medium yang mengintegrasikan gambar bergerak dan elemen audiovisual untuk menyampaikan pesan dan emosi melalui estetika visual. Film “Sang Prawira”, menawarkan peluang menarik untuk menganalisis elemen-elemen visualnya secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana elemen visual seperti komposisi gambar, penggunaan warna, pencahayaan, dan pengaturan set digunakan untuk memperkuat narasi serta menciptakan pengalaman visual yang emosional dan artistik. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dengan melakukan observasi mendalam terhadap adegan-adegan kunci untuk mengidentifikasi pola, simbolisme, dan interaksi antar elemen visual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi gambar dalam film ini menonjolkan aspirasi besar dan konflik emosional tokoh utama, sementara palet warna dan pencahayaan memperkuat suasana emosional di setiap adegan. Desain set yang kaya dengan budaya Batak Toba memberikan konteks visual yang autentik, dengan simbolisme seperti Danau Toba dan ulos yang menambahkan dimensi budaya pada cerita. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa estetika visual bukan hanya elemen pendukung tetapi juga alat utama dalam menyampaikan pesan naratif yang kompleks. Visual Analysis in the Film Sang Prawira: Visual Aesthetics ABSTRACTThe art of cinema is a medium that integrates moving images and audiovisual elements to convey messages and emotions through visual aesthetics. The film Sang Prawira provides an intriguing opportunity to analyze its visual elements in depth. This study aims to explore how visual elements such as composition, color usage, lighting, and set design are employed to strengthen the narrative and create an emotionally and artistically engaging visual experience. A qualitative descriptive approach was adopted by conducting in-depth observations of key scenes to identify patterns, symbolism, and interactions between visual elements. The findings reveal that the film's composition highlights the protagonist's aspirations and emotional conflicts, while the color palette and lighting enhance the emotional tone of each scene. The set design, enriched with Batak Toba cultural elements, provides an authentic visual context, with symbolism such as Danau Toba and ulos adding cultural dimensions to the story. The study concludes that visual aesthetics are not merely supporting elements but primary tools for delivering complex narrative messages.
