Abstract

The analyticalmodel to solve the integration-production-distribution problem has drawbackof not able to accomodate the uncertainty of supply chain. This research aims to develop a simulationmodel to obtain a production and distribution plan that not only minimize the production anddistribution cost but also implementable in the real world situation. The steps of the research includes data generation, analytical model formulation and solutionmodel search, deterministic simulation model design based on generated data and analytical solutionmodel, verification test, running deterministic simulation model, validation test, stochastic simulationmodel design by incorporating uncertainty factor in terms of probabilistic production time andvehicle speed and validation of analytical solution model to determine whether the analytical modelsolution is worth to be implemented. The deterministic simulation and stochastic models were designed with ARENA simulationsoftware. Based on the stochastic running model, the total time for period one is higher than 48available hours so concluded that analytical solution model is not worth implemented.Keywords:. supply chain, production-distribution integration, analytical model, simulation model, deterministic, stochastic, ARENA software

Abstract

The Conventional Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) has the objective function of minimizing the total vehicles’ traveling distance. Since the fuel cost is a relatively high component of transportation costs, in this study, the objective function of VRP has been extended by considering fuel consumption minimization in the situation wherein the loading weight and traveling time are restricted. Based on these assumptions, we proposed to extend the route division procedure proposed by Kuo and Wang [4] such that when one of the restrictions can not be met the routing division continues to create a new sub-route to find an acceptable solution. To solve the formulated problem, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to optimize the vehicle routing plan. The proposed methodology is validated by solving the problem by taking a particular day data from a bottled drinking water distribution company. It was revealed that the saving of at best 13% can be obtained from the actual routes applied by the company.

Abstract

This research has goal to compare there alternative layout performances CRAFT,MULTIPLE, and BLOCPLAN. Using the problem of layout which include forward flow material and fordward backward flow material can be found result : Multiple Algoritm has total distance and material cost minimally but the problems that have lower departement,CRAFT algoritm can be used better than MULTIPLE algoritm because almost gives the same result with easier input process.

Abstract

This research has a good to plan the product delivery schedule from central ware house to each ware house and from ware house to PT. Coca Cola outlet to minimize the holding number of product. To plan this schedule we implement DRP (Distribution Requirement Planning) method. With using the product demand data, lead time of delivery, holding cost and release cost, also BOD (Bill of Distribution). Then analysis them using DRP software to find the shipping schedule. After implementing DRP method PT. Coca Cola can decrease about RP 7.205.761.500,00 for 8 week.

Abstract

Considering that raw material cost could reach 70% of product cost, supplier selection process was become important consideration to improve the efficiency of procurement department. The supplier selection process was multi-criteria problem involving qualitative and quantitative factors. UD Virgo Bersinar was one of fruit chips manufacturer located in Malang. The company often experienced shortage of jackfruits which interrupt production process. Thus, it was necessary to choose its supplier by considering company’s criteria and order allocation of selected supplier. This research would integrate supplier weight from Analytic Hierarchy Process and Preemptive Goal Programming model to determine priority of supplier and order quantity to the supplier. The model was formulated to achieve two objective functions, namely maximizing total value of purchasing and minimizing total cost of purchasing, by considering capacity of supplier and fulfillment of jackfruit. By running goal programming model, it was concluded that supplier from Semarang would supply 7.5 ton of jackfruit in November 2013-Januari 2014 and deficiency of needs would be supplied by supplier from Tajinan.

Abstract

“One Way Convection” is a garment company which produces many kinds of t-shirt based on the customer’s order. In order to fulfill the order, the company applies role of First-Come First-Serve for scheduling the order production sequence. This role is often disadvantageous for the order with short process time because if it is dispatched after the order with long process time, then it will take longer in queue and causes the completion time of all order to be longer. This research aims to schedule t-shirt’s sequence operation in “One Way Convection” company by using Pour heuristic algorithm so that completion time becomes shorter and order fulfillment can be accomplished on-time. The steps in this methodology consist of collecting data, calculating standard time and total process time according to the order, scheduling using initial method proposed by company, scheduling using Pour heuristic algorithm, and comparing makespan of both approaches. According to the Pour Heuristic method, saving is obtained in makespan as 8.09 hours or 19.25% compared with initial method proposed by company.
