Abstract

Abstract SMPN 38 Padang is located in a rural area making the atmosphere in this school beautiful and close to nature. This situation is very comfortable and good for students to study in this school. But the environment, of course, is not enough as a factor that should be considered in studying. It needs to be supported by teaching materials that can awaken student motivation in learning, especially in math subjects. From the observations made, the devotional team did not find any slightly different mathematics teaching materials. There are only Student Worksheets compiled by the MGMP team. For that reason, we conducted a socialization of Independent Worksheets mathematics integrated approach to constructivism with a game of Crossword Puzzles modifications in students of class VII SMPN 38 Padang with the aim of improving the understanding and motivation of students learning mathematics. Activities are carried out directly and apply strict health protocols using lecture and question and answer methods. Based on these activities, it can be concluded that socialization was successfully carried out with indicators of the number of participants, the activeness of participants, the achievement of the purpose of the activity, and the achievement of material understanding. The follow-up to this activity is to communicate with teachers in monitoring the use of independent worksheet students. Keywords : self-worksheet, constructivism, crossword puzzle

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the level of practicality of the electronic physics module based on a scientific approach to fluid materials. Research and development using a 4D model consisting of the stages of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The practicality test is carried out after the definition and design stages are completed. The research instrument is an observation sheet on the implementation of lesson plans, teacher response questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and the respondents are teachers and students of class XI MIA in one of the SMAN in Padang City. The method used is descriptive statistics to get the average value and percentage. An electronic physics module based on a scientific approach is said to be practical if the practitioner's assessment states that the module can be applied. Based on the teacher's response, the average percentage of 89.28% met the very practical category and the student's response was 78, 45% met the practical category. Overall, the average percentage of the practicality of the electronic physics module based on this scientific approach is 83.86% in the very practical category. This shows that the electronic physics module based on a scientific approach is easy to use and useful for teachers and students.

Abstract

Persoalan yang dihadapi siswa dalam mempelajari Bahasa Inggris adalah keterbatasan menguasai vocabulary dan grammar, penyebabnya adalah model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada guru sehingga siswa kurang antusias belajar. Maka diadakan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat(PKM) ini, tim Dosen Bahasa Inggris UPI YPTK Padang memberikan sebuah solusi teknik pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yaitu Model Cooperative Script. Teknik ini, siswa diberi kesempatan lebih aktif berkolaborasi dengan guru maupun temannya.  Pelaksanaan dimulai dari rapat anggota dalam memilih lokasi PKM, memilih tema, pembagian kerja tim, melakukan survey lokasi, membuat agenda kegiatan, pendataan peserta,  membuat proposal, merealisasikan kegiatan PKM sesuai dengan rencana, membuat laporan tertulis ke pihak LPPM UPI YPTK. Dalam Pelaksanaan PKM ini, instruktur yang mengajar mendistribusikan outline pengajaran kepada pihak yang mengelola PKBM Gempita. Media yang digunakan yaitu, gambar buah, benda-benda dan binatang yang ada di sekitar. Teknik yang beragam seperti permainan estafet angka, tebak kata melalui huruf acak, tebak kata melalui peragaan, metode drill dalam membuat kalimat sederhana. Proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan ini membawa hasil yang baik. Para siswa PKBM Gempita sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, mereka tersenyum gembira dan saling berpatisipasi dalam menjawab dan menulis kosakata Bahasa Inggris di papan tulis, mayoritas siswa dapat menghapal, memahamami dan membuat kalimat Bahasa Inggris sederhana.  The problem faced by students in learning English is the limitation of mastering vocabulary and grammar. The reason is the teacher-centered learning model so that students are less enthusiastic in learning. Therefore, this Community Service (PKM) activity was held, the UPI YPTK Padang English Lecturer team provided a solution for English learning techniques, namely the Cooperative Script Model. Through this technique, students are given the opportunity to be more active in collaborating with teachers and friends. The implementation starts from a member meeting in selecting the location of the PKM, choosing a theme, dividing team work, conducting site surveys, making agendas, collecting data on participants, making proposals, realizing the activities, making the report to the LPPM UPI YPTK. In the implementation of this PKM, the instructor who teaches distributes teaching to those who manage the PKBM Gempita. The media used are pictures of fruit, objects and animals in the arounding. Various techniques such as the number relay game, guessing words through random letters, guessing words through demonstrations, drill methods in making simple sentences. The learning process carried out brought good results. PKBM Gempita students are very enthusiastic to participate in English learning, they smile happily and participate in each other in answering and writing English vocabulary on the blackboard, the main thing is that students can memorize, understand and make simple English sentences.

Abstract

Natural Sciences (IPA) is a science that studies nature along with its contents. IPA becomes one of the compulsory subjects in elementary school. The aim of this study was to describe problems in IPA learning at the elementary school level in terms of child development. This type of research is qualified descriptive. Data collection is carried out by methods of observation in schools and analyzing the relationship of findings with literature studies based on expert theories and previous research. The results of information analysis and research findings are strengthened by providing recommendations for solutions in problem solving, namely the design of a relevant learning model to be applied in IPA learning in elementary school. The results of this study are expected to provide contributions and be used as a reference in the development and strengthening of the quality in IPA learning at elementary schools level. To develop a learning model which can improve the quality of IPA learning, instructional design teachers/designers can pay attention to the main problems found in this study.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to test the effect of academic supervision and work life balance on teacher performance during Covid-19. This type of research is quantitative with an explanatory research approach. There were 92 teachers of SMK 8 Padang who were selected as samples in the study based on saturated sampling techniques. Research data collected through a questionnaire for academic supervision. The data was collected using questionnaires with a 5-point likert measurement scale. Findings in this study with regression analysis multiple linear showing the results of the analysis that: there is an influence of academic supervision on teacher performance during Covid-19 H1 received; there is a work life balance effect to the performance of teachers during Covid-19 H2 received; and there is an influence of academic supervision and work life balance simultaneously on teacher performance during Covid-19 H3 received.

Abstract

This research aims to know the educational system of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The research method is literature review or literature study, which contains theories relevant to research problems. The result of the educational system of Egypt that the educational objectives are uphold democracy and the formation of democratic individuals. The authority is centralized, under the ministry of education and ministry of Al-Azhar. Curriculum preparation is carried out with teamwork consisting of experts, professors, consultants, and educational supervisors as well as experienced teachers. The government budgets 17% of the national budget. The educational structures are  1) basic education (ibtida'i), 2) secondary education/preparation (I'dadi), 3) upper secondary education (tsanawi), 4) higher education or university, and 5) elementary school level 6-11 years.  The academic year start from June to August.

Abstract

Covid-19 has had a considerable impact on learning, so to keep improving student learning outcomes, lecturers are required to be more creative in using technology applications such as quizizz. This study aims to see the effectiveness of quizizz in improving student learning outcomes during the implementation of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is quasi-experimental, involving two sample classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Sorting the two sample classes using random sampling technique. The data collection instrument used multiple choice tests. The data analysis technique used the t test by first doing the prerequisite tests, namely normality and homogeneity tests. The results of data analysis show that there are significant differences in learning outcomes between students who study using Quizizz and study conventionally. Quizizz has contributed significantly to student learning outcomes, because quizizz is a learning application that is packaged in an attractive manner, has a good graphic design and is automated. Online learning should integrate one of the quizizz applications so that it can motivate students to learn and can directly improve student learning outcomes. The creativity of the teacher in operating the quizizz also influences the course of the learning process.

Abstract

Peningkatan kualitas siswa merupakan salah satu tugas dunia pendidikan. Siswa sekolah dasar memiliki banyak perbedaan dengan orang usia dewasa dalam mempelajari kosakata bahasa Inggris. Jika orang usia dewasa akan cepat menyerap kosakata baru dan mudah memusatkan perhatiannya pada proses pembelajaran, sementara siswa sekolah dasar memerlukan pengulangan dalam menyerap kosakata dan belum bisa memusatkan perhatiannya dengan cepat. Siswa-siswi SDN 26 Jati Utara Padang dalah salah satu sekolah dasar di kota Padang yang belum menerapkan Bahasa Inggris sebagai mata pelajaran wajib di sekolah, akan tetapi siswa ini memiliki hak untuk mengetahui bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa Internasional. Penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis pictures dengan topik school objects merupakan terobosan yang dilakukan tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat UPI YPTK Padang untuk membantu siswa serta menambah kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa SDN 26 Jati Utara Padang. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan memilih media pembelajaran yang tepat. Kendala yang ditemui ialah siswa menyelesaikan tulisan bahasa Inggris dalam rentang waktu yang lama diakibatkan kurangnya tepatnya pengejaan kosakata bahasa Inggris. Oleh sebab itu, dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, kegelisahan yang dirasakan pihak sekolah bisa teratasi, serta siswa termotivasi untuk belajar bahasa Inggris dengan tingkat kesulitan yang berbeda.

Abstract

AbstrakBesarnya dampak wabah Covid-19 pada lingkup pendidikan mendorong dilakukannya perubahan dalam proses pembelajaran untuk dapat memutus rantai penyebaran Covid-19 dengan menerapkan kegiatan pembelajaran secara online untuk seluruh jenjang pendidikan. Sangat mungkin bagi siswa menemukan kesulitan-kesulitan selama pembelajaran daring dan membuat motivasi belajar siswa menurun. Maka untuk menghadapi kesulitan tersebut diperlukan kecerdasan yang mampu membantu siswa tetap bertahan atau disebut dengan Adversity Quotient (AQ) yang pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis Adversity Quotient dan mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap motivasi belajar. Pendekatan penelitian ini dilakukan dengan penelitian kuantitatif, ada 108 responden penelitian berdasarkan teknik cluster random sampling. Adapun pengambilan data penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner skala likert 5 point, lalu dianalisis dengan teknik analisis regresi linier sederhana. Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa Adversity Quotient ditinjau dari aspek control, origin and ownership, reach, dan endurance berada di kategori cukup baik. Terdapat pengaruh Adversity Quotient dan motivasi belajar siswa secara positif dan signifikan dengan kontribusi pengaruh berada pada kategori tinggi.AbstractThe magnitude of the Covid-19 impacts outbreak on the scope of education encourages changes in the learning process to be able to break the chain of spread of Covid-19 by applying online learning activities for all levels of education. It is quite possible for students to find difficulties during online learning and make students' learning motivation decrease. So, to deal with these difficulties, intelligence is needed that can help students stay afloat or called Adversity Quotient (AQ) which can ultimately increase students' learning motivation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the Adversity Quotient and find out its effect on learning motivation. This research approach was carried out with quantitative research, there were 108 respondents based on cluster random sampling techniques. As for the data collection of this study using a 5-point likert scale questionnaire, it is then analyzed with a simple linear regression analysis technique. The results of this study that Adversity Quotient reviewed from the aspects of control, origin and ownership, reach, and endurance are in the category quite well. There is the influence of Adversity Quotient and student learning motivation positively and significantly with the contribution of influence to be in the high category.
