Abstract

AbstrakSalah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas siswa dan ketertarikansiswa pesantren khususnya pada pelajaran IPA diantaranya adalahdengan mengadakan praktikum.Hal ini sesuai dengan pendapat Arends(2008), bahwa belajar yang baik adalah bila anda terlibat secara pribadidalam pengalaman belajarnya (experiential Learning). Maka dilakukanpenelitian dengan rumusan masalah bagaimanakah kegiatan dan kajiankemampuan non-kognitif siswa pesantren As-Sunnah dalam kegiatanpraktikum uji makanan pada materi pencernaan makanan pada manusia.Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kegiatan praktikum di pesantrenAs-Sunnah dan mengkaji kemampuan non-kognitif siswa. Penelitian inidilakukan di pesantren As-Sunnah dengan metode penelitian deskriptifkualitatif dan deskriptif inquiry. Hasil penelitian diperoleh sebagai berikutbahwa kegiatan praktikum di pesantren As-Sunnah yaitu di MTs KelasVII putri jarang dilakukan karna beberapa kendala salah satunya adalahkendala sarana dan prasarana terutama ketersediaan laboratorium, namundemikian kegiatan praktikum masih tetap bisa dijalankan di ruang belajar(kelas). Untuk kajian non kognitif didapatkan kesimpulan, tingkat kesiapansiswa dalam melakukan praktikum cukup baik, keterampilan siswadalam praktikum termasuk kedalam kategori cukup kompeten, sikapsiswa sangat baik dalam kegiatan praktikum yang terdiri dari kerjasama,kedisiplinan, ketelitian, dan tanggung jawab. Sedangkan untuk respon terhadapkegiatan praktikum dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa memiliki rasaingin tahu terhadap hasil praktikum cukup besar, yaitu 77,8%.Kata kunci : Kemampuan non – kognitif, praktikum, pencernaanmakanan

Abstract

Dunia pendidikan saat ini sedang berusaha meningkatkan kualitasnya dari berbagai sisi, hal ini karena abad ke 21 yang dikenal sebagai abad pengetahuan. Harapan mendapatkan hasil belajar siswa terus menerus menjadi hal yang perlu diwujudkan. Berbagai cara terus diupayakan agar hasil belajar siswa mencapai hasil yang optimal. Salah satunya yaitu dengan meningkatkan minat siswa terhadap materi pelajaran. Minat siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran sangat berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan pendidikan, karna siswa yang berminat pada materi pelajaran akan memiliki keinginan kuat untuk menguasai materi pelajaran tersebut. Kita mengetahui bahwa disekolah-sekolah yang berbasis pesantren pada umumnya sangat ditekankan pemahaman dalam bidang keagamaan, segala sesuatu akan dikaitkan dengan pengetahuan agama, termasuk disaat mereka mempelajari mata pelajaran sains atau IPA. Karna itu upaya untuk mengintegrasikan sains atau IPA dengan pengetahuan agama menjadi salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan minat belajar para siswa di lingkungan pesantren. Salah satu upaya itu adalah dengan implementasi integrasi interkoneksi keislaman. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, maka hasilnya dapat disimpulkan yaitu, minat siswa terhadap konsep IPAtermasukdalamkategoribaik, hasil observasi dari 9 komponen yang diobservasi terdapat 4 komponen mendapat nilai 100%, berarti semua siswa melakukan hal tersebut yaitu mendengarkan materi yang disampaikan guru, datang tepat waktu, membuat catatan, dan mencatat apa yang dituliskan guru, sedangkan hasil belajar siswa tidak memuaskan, sebanyak 63% siswa masih mendapat nilai dibawah nilai KKM.

Abstract

Habits of mind were most important to be had by the science education the students. The prospective science teachers were required to have the skills of self-regulation, creative thinking and critical thinking. Those three skills were the categories of habits of mind. This study reviewed on how the habits of mind of the students of prospective Biology teachers were, in which category the students' habits of mind were, how the differences of the habits of mind of the male and female the students were, and whether there was any relation between the students' grade points and their habits of mind. The analysis result obtained that 79.7% the students included in the adequate category of habits of mind (N=133). From 16 categories of the habits of mind, the responding with wonderment and awe category had the biggest average score that was 5.69 which meant that most of Science education the students had high enough curiosity in the mystery of the nature. There was no difference of the habits of mind had by the male and female the students, and there was no correlation between the habits of mind and the students' grade points.

Abstract

Scientific literacy that integrates Islamic values in books helps students understand science and apply it in daily life. The integration of Islam aims to build students' character to become cognitively intelligent and intelligent in attitude and behavior. This study describes scientific literacy that integrates Islamic values and the level of scientific literacy that integrates Islamic values in textbooks. The research design uses a qualitative approach with content analysis methods. Research data collection techniques using observation sheets. The results showed that the biology textbooks for class X SMA from the publishers of Erlangga, Grafindo, and Tiga Serangkai contained scientific literacy that was integrated with Islamic values.

Abstract

Biointerpreneurship learning by using comics is one of the contextual learning and can train students' creativity and cognitive abilities. Therefore this study aims to determine the effectiveness of bioentrepreneurship learning using comics, by studying student creativity, students' cognitive abilities, and student responses. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method of nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used for data collection include observation sheets, pre-test post-test, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the creativity of the experimental class students was better than the control class, the cognitive abilities of the experimental class students improved better than the control class, and the responses of students in the experimental class were included in the strong criteria. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that learning bioenterprenership using comics effectively increase student creativity, students' cognitive abilities, and positive response from students

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out differences in student activities between those implemented by Instagram-assisted portfolio assessments and those not applied by Instagram-assisted portfolio assessment differences in improving students' creative thinking skills between those implemented by Instagram- assisted portfolio assessment and those not implemented by Instagram-assisted portfolio assessments. They knew students 'responses about applying Instagram-assisted portfolio assessments to improve students' creative thinking skills. The approach in this study uses a quantitative approach with the design pretest-posttest control group. The population in this study were all class X students of SMAN 1 Tanjung, numbering 238 students. Samples taken were two classes, each of which amounted to 34 students. Data collection techniques used are observation sheets, tests, and questionnaires. The study results show that students' activities applied portfolio assessment assisted Instagram with an average of 73% with good criteria while those not applied Instagram-assisted portfolio assessment 58% with sufficient measures. Instagram-assisted portfolio assessment showed an increase in creative thinking skills at experimental class the average N-Gain by 0.60 medium categories. Instagram-assisted portfolio assessment can improve students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Teachers’ competencies initiated this research in learning preparation, including planning and implementing the learning process, understanding materials, evaluating learning outcomes, and actualizing students’ potential to develop. Therefore, teachers’ competencies are necessary to design learning and improve learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine teachers’ competencies to design learning and enhance learning outcomes. This research was descriptive qualitative research. It investigated conducted at SMAN 1 Ciwaringin in April 2019 (the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year). The research subject was teacher IW. The data were collected using observation, documentation, and test techniques. The respondent’s competencies in designing learning were seen from four aspects: syllabus, learning process, and evaluation. This research revealed that the teachers’ ability to design learning tools, processes, and ways for class XI students at SMAN 1 Ciwaringin was good. Moreover, the students’ biology learning outcomes increased significantly, as indicated by the pretest and posttest scores conducted before and after the learning. This study also discovered that the teacher IWs’ ability to design learning improved students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstrak. Data penelitian terdahulu model problem based learning (PBL) banyak tersedia dalam publikasi ilmiah, namun belum ada kajian menyeluruh efektivitas model pembelajaran PBL terhadap keterampilan abad ke-21 siswa Biologi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh keseluruhan model pembelajaran PBL terhadap keterampilan abad ke-21 dalam pembelajaran Biologi dengan metode meta analisis. Artikel yang dianalisis sebanyak 30 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria dari 150 artikel publikasi ilmiah tahun 2013-2023 pada jenjang SMA dan SMP. Teknik analisis data dengan perhitungan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran PBL memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap keterampilan abad ke-21 dalam pembelajaran Biologi (effect size= 1,23). Berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan memiliki efek besar yaitu SMA (1,22) dan SMP (1,30). Berdasarkan variabel terikat penelitian memberikan efek besar yaitu berpikir kritis (1,04), pemecahan masalah (1,37), berpikir kreatif (1,12), kolaborasi (2,56), dan komunikasi (1,03). Sehingga, model pembelajaran PBL lebih efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran Biologi dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional, khususnya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan abad ke-21 siswa. Abstract. Previous research data on problem-based learning (PBL) models are widely available in scientific publications, but there has been no comprehensive study of the effectiveness of the PBL learning models on Biology students’ 21st century skills. This purpose of this study was to determine the overall effect of the PBL learning models on 21st century skills in Biology learning using the meta-analysis method. The study analyzed 30 articles that met the criteria from 150 scientific publication articles in 2013-2023 at the high school and junior high school levels. The data analysis technique employed effect size calculations. The results showed that the application of the PBL learning model had a major influence on 21st century skills in Biology learning (effect size= 1,23). Based on the level of education, it has a large effect, namely high school (1,22) and junior high school (1,30). Based on the dependent variables, the research provides a large effect, namely critical thinking (1,04), problem-solving (1,37), creative thinking (1,12), collaboration (2,56), and communication (1,03). Thus, the PBL learning model is more effectively applied in learning Biology compared to conventional learning models, especially in improving students' 21st century skills.

Abstract

Students are required to have the ability to think, one of which is understanding. In the era of the fast development of information technology, understanding in students is not just knowing facts, but knowing the meaning, and emphasizing the involvement of students in dealing with problems. This research aimed to determine the improvement of students' concept understanding based on Wiggins' aspects of understanding, which are explain, interpretation, application, perspective, empathy and self-knowledge in biology learning by applying a blended discovery learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this research were all students of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences SMAN 1 Sumber in the 2022/2023 academic year with samples of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences 4 as the experimental class and X Mathematics and Natural Sciences 3 as the control class. Data collection techniques used tests, and questionnaires. The results showed that there were differences in the improvement of students' understanding based on significant aspects of Wiggins' understanding in biology learning using models of blended discovery learning on kingdom plantae material.
