Abstract

The population growth rate indicates an explosion in Indonesia's population if there is no family planning program. Programs carried out by the government to reduce the population rate with the Family Planning movement and the voluntary use of contraceptives to couples of childbearing age (PUS). The family planning movement is carried out to build a prosperous family in order to create optimal human resources. Family planning programs are one of the most effective ways to improve family resilience, health, and safety of mothers, children and women. Objective: Increase the scope of use of IUD contraceptives and implants, practice methods and counseling. Couples of childbearing age who participated in community service activities totaled 18 participants, with the results of acceptors who used implants totaling 11 PUS (61.11%), and IUDs totaling 7 PUS (38.89%), participants aged 20-35 years as many as 9 (50%), and age >35 years as many as 9 (50%), junior high school education level 3 participants (16.67%), high school 14 participants (77.78%), higher education 1 participant (5.56%), parity ≤ 2 as many as 10 (55, 56%), and >2 namely 8 participants (44, 46%) After installation activities, and counseling participants understand how to post-install contraceptive care.

Abstract

Maternal mortality rate (MMR) and neonatal mortality rate (NMR) in Indonesia are still a challenge in health services. Technological innovations such as the SIGNAL application (Maternal Neonatal Emergency Information System) were developed to improve early detection of high risk in pregnant women and neonates. Objective to determine the impact of using the SIGNAL application for midwives in improving the speed and accuracy of maternal neonatal emergency services in Bantul Regency. Descriptive quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach was conducted on 50 midwives using SIGNAL at the Bantul Regency Health Center. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total of 50 respondents who actively used the SIGNAL application. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that 82% of midwives felt helped in early identification of high risk, 76% stated that referrals were faster, and 70% felt that the application increased confidence in making clinical decisions. The main obstacles were internet network and device limitations. The use of the SIGNAL application has a positive impact on improving the quality of maternal neonatal emergency services by midwives in Bantul Regency, although improvements in supporting infrastructure are still needed.

Abstract

Complete basic immunization is an essential preventive measure to reduce morbidity and mortality among infants and toddlers. However, limited community knowledge and unfavorable attitudes remain challenges in achieving optimal immunization coverage. This community service activity aimed to improve community knowledge and attitudes toward complete basic immunization through integrated and sustainable community education. An educative–participatory approach with a pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design was applied. Educational activities were conducted through interactive counseling, group discussions, and question-and-answer sessions using educational media. Knowledge and attitudes were measured before and after the intervention using structured questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The results showed an increase in community knowledge from moderate and low levels to predominantly good levels, along with a significant improvement in positive attitudes toward complete basic immunization. Community education proved effective in enhancing understanding and fostering supportive attitudes toward immunization programs. This activity is expected to serve as a sustainable promotive and preventive strategy to support the success of complete basic immunization programs.

Abstract

Informal workers, such as farmers and artisans, face a high risk of Low Back Pain (LBP) due to non-ergonomic working postures. This community service project aimed to enhance workers' understanding and skills in preventing LBP through ergonomic education and stretching exercises. The methods included field observations, participatory education using visual media, and practical exercise training. The program involved 30 participants of productive age. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in knowledge, with the average score rising from 52.4 (Fair) to 88.7 (Good). Furthermore, 85% of participants successfully demonstrated the stretching movements independently. In conclusion, the combination of ergonomic education and stretching exercise training is effective in increasing preventive awareness of musculoskeletal disorders among informal workers. It is recommended that workers consistently implement five-minute stretching breaks every two hours to maintain productivity and spinal health.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of female mortality in Indonesia, yet public awareness regarding early detection and HPV vaccination remains low, particularly in rural areas. Socio-cultural barriers and a lack of information are the primary obstacles to preventive efforts. This community service activity aims to improve health literacy regarding the importance of HPV vaccination and Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screening at the village level. The method employed was public health education using a persuasive-educative approach through lectures, visual media, and props demonstrations. The target participants consisted of 20 adolescent girls and 25 women of childbearing age. Evaluation was conducted quantitatively through pre-test and post-test scores and qualitatively through observations of participant responses. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, with the highest improvement in the function and methods of VIA screening at 47%. Prior to the education, participants tended to have misconceptions and fear of medical procedures; however, post-intervention, participant awareness increased positively. The conclusion of this activity is that community-based socialization is effective in shifting the public paradigm from reactive to proactive, as well as eliminating negative stigmas toward early detection of cervical cancer.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare has increased the use of digital platforms for self-health assessment, particularly among young people. However, inadequate understanding of AI may lead to inappropriate self-diagnosis and potential health risks. This community service activity aimed to enhance young people’s awareness of the risks associated with AI-based self-diagnosis through an educative–participatory approach. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test was employed. The intervention consisted of interactive health education, group discussions, and case-based learning related to AI health applications. Evaluation focused on changes in participants’ knowledge, risk awareness, critical attitudes, and digital health behavior before and after the intervention. The results indicated a significant shift in participants’ perspectives, from uncritical reliance on AI toward more cautious and reflective use. Participants recognized the limitations of AI and the importance of consulting healthcare professionals for medical decisions. This activity supports the development of safer and more responsible health behaviors in the context of increasing AI integration in everyday life in 2026.
