Abstract

Grafting with cayenne pepper rootstock (Capsicum frutescens L.) and red chili scion (Capsicum annum L) can be used to improve the quality of red chili plants. This study aims to determine the growth and development of red chili plants from shoot grafting. The study was carried out with 3 treatments, namely kontrol (without grafting) (Mo), treatment 1 (X1) fighting with scion from the main stem and treatment 2 (X2) grafting with scion from stem branches. Each treatment was repeated 5 times. The results showed that the highest number of leaves was obtained in the kontrol treatment, the highest number of flowers and fruits in the X2 treatment. It was concluded that shoot grafting in red chili with entries from the first branch resulted in plants with the best growth and development. From the results of this study shoot grafting can be used as a way of cultivating red chiliKeywords: Capsicum annum L.; Grafting, Growth and Development.

Abstract

Personal hygiene aims to maintain the cleanliness and health of workshop mechanics who are at risk of being exposed to B3 waste in their daily work. Long exposure and working priod can cause dermatitis in workers. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between personal hygiene and tenure with the incidence of dermatitis. This qualitative research was conducted in 4 villages in Way Serdang sub-district. Sampling was done by purposive sampling through a cross sectional approach and data collection was done by structured interview. The results showed that the incidence of dermatitis was only related to Personal Hygiene.

Abstract

Crystal guava (Psidium guajava var. crystal) is one type of guava plant that has high economic value due to its thick flesh and few seeds. The crystal guava plant is believed to have antioxidant activity, which is a substance that can prevent the formation of free radicals in the body. This research aims to determine the level of antioxidants in chloroform and methanol extracts of the skin and flesh of crystal guava fruit using the DPPH method. Samples were taken through a stepwise maceration process and solvents of chloroform and methanol, then analyzed using probit analysis and SPSS 25 software. The results of the study showed that both chloroform and methanol extracts of the skin and flesh of crystal guava fruit have antioxidant activity. The results showed that the IC50 value of the chloroform extract of crystal guava fruit skin is 218.88 ppm and is classified as moderate, the methanol extract of crystal guava fruit skin is 89.78 ppm and is classified as strong, the chloroform extract of crystal guava fruit flesh is 270.56 ppm and is classified as weak, and the methanol extract of crystal guava fruit flesh is 185.72 ppm and is classified as moderate.

Abstract

Penurunan kesuburan tanah, produktivitas tanaman, dan pencemaran lingkungan semuanya dapat disebabkan oleh penggunaan pupuk anorganik yang terus menerus. Pupuk formulasi KALAM adalah kombinasi berbagai bahan organik yang digunakan untuk pengolahan limbah rumah tangga. Dengan berbagai bahan, pupuk ini dapat meningkatkan hasil panen tanaman dan mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pupuk formulasi mempengaruhi hasil panen cabai rawit. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 5x5 dengan tiga kali pengulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengunaan pupuk formulasi KALAM pada tanaman cabai rawit memberikan hasil terbaik pada perlakukan P1 (80 gram kompos + 3 mL air lindi + 80 gram arang kayu + 20 gram abu bakaran + 8 mL MOL bonggol pisang) dengan hasil rata-rata bobot perbuah adalah 3,3 gram. Formulasi pupuk yang digunakan juga mampu meningkatkan kandungan P total.

Abstract

Sebagian besar mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajari genetika modern terutama sintesis protein yang mencakup replikasi, transkripsi, dan translasi. Salah satu solusinya adalah penerapan model pembelajaran yang tepat. Model Pembelajaran yang dianggap sesuai yaitu model pembelajaran bermain peran (role playing). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penerapan model pembelajaran role playing dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa Biologi Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari 1 siklus. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi angket dan lembar observasi sebagai data primer, tes dan dokumentasi sebagai data sekunder. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan secara kualitatif.. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran role playing dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa program studi biologi pada mata kuliah genetika. Rerata persentase pada indikator ketepatan mahasiswa masuk kelas yaitu sebesar 70 % yang menunjukkan tingkat motivasi awal mahasiswa untuk belajar termasuk kategori tinggi. Hasil analisis lembar observasi juga menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas mahasiswa selama pembelarajan tergolong tinggi dengan rerata persentase sebesar 80 % - 90 %. Hasil analisis rerata data tes juga menunjukkan peningkatan yaitu dari 20,73 menjadi 33,10. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan motivasi belajar mahasiswa juga akan meningkatkan hasil belajar.

Abstract

Budidaya kangkung darat (Ipomoea reptans Poir) dilakukan secara organik dan anorganik dengan media tanam yang sesuai. Peningkatan hasil tanam kangkung, dibutuhkan sebuah teknologi yang mempermudah dalam budidaya tanaman kangkung. Salah satunya dengan teknik yang menggunakan suara atau musik untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh genre musik yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif kangkung darat (Ipomoea reptans Poir). Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan memberikan 4 suara musik berbeda yaitu M0 (kontrol), M1 (klasik), M2 (murottal), dan M3 (hardcore) dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Penelitian ini berlangsung 30 hari. Parameter yang diukur selama 7 hati sekali meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, lebar daun, panjang tanaman, berat basah, dan bukaan stomata pada minggu ke-4. Data dianalisis dengan One Way Anova SPSS 20 dan uji lanjut Duncan dengan taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa musik memiliki pengaruh nyata pada pertumbuhan kangkung darat (Ipomoea reptans Poir) dan perlakuan suara musik hardcore merupakan yang paling baik terhadap lebar daun dan berat basah tanaman kangkung yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

Eco-enzyme solutions are generally used in the manufacture of disinfectants, floor cleaners, liquid fertilizers, preservatives and others. In this study, eco-enzyme was used as the main ingredient in the manufacture of biogas fermentation with the addition of cow feces as an additional starter in the fermentation. The aim of this study was to determine the content of CH4, CO2, N2, pH, temperature, and pressure in eco-enzyme fermentation with the addition of cow feces starter.  his research is a quantitative research with the type of experimental research as well as direct observation data collection techniques and data analysis techniques using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the treatment that produced the highest methane (CH4) gas was the P5 treatment with a concentration of 2.889%. 6,1. The highest volume pressure value was produced in the P5 treatment which was 70 ml. Nitrogen gas (N2) and carbon dioxide gas (CO2), the concentration of nitrogen gas (N2) from reactor P0 - P4 is in the range of 95.875-99.669 % and the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) from reactor P0 - P4 is in the range of 0.237 - 4.125 %.

Abstract

One of the sub-districts in the East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) district of South Sumatra, namely Buay Madang Timur, the people are migrants (transmigrants), especially from the Javanese tribe and still preserve the traditional ritual of the Panggih Temanten marriage. The aim of the study was to determine the various kinds of plant families used in the traditional rituals of Panggih Temanten Javanese people in Buay Madang District, East OKU Regency, South Sumatra. This research is a qualitative type with sampling using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection through structured interviews to selected respondents. The results showed that there were 13 families consist of Arecaceae, Musaceae, Asparagaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Moraceae, Rosaceae, Annonaceae, Nyitaginaceae, Rubiaceae, Asteraceae, Magnoliaceae, Piperaceae, and Oleaceae. Abstract

Addressing climate change has become a top priority for universities worldwide. This paper examines Raden Intan State Islamic University’s initiatives to confront climate change through its Eco-Campus program. In Indonesia, a country highly vulnerable to climate change, UIN Raden Intan Lampung recognizes its responsibility in promoting sustainability and reducing environmental impacts. Using a qualitative approach, this case study explores the university's comprehensive strategies, which include institutional policies and grassroots efforts. The campus focuses on reducing carbon emissions, adopting renewable energy, and enhancing climate resilience. Key initiatives include maintaining large green spaces that lower temperatures and absorb carbon dioxide, using energy-saving devices like LED lights, and installing solar panels to minimize the carbon footprint. In waste management, the university turns organic waste into compost and repurposes food waste to feed larvae, which are then processed into animal feed. Water conservation efforts are supported by artificial ponds, ensuring a reliable water supply and maintaining greenery during dry seasons. The university also promotes sustainable transportation by encouraging bicycle use and limiting vehicle parking to reduce emissions. Overall, UIN Raden Intan Lampung exemplifies how a university can integrate sustainability into campus life, serving as a model for climate change mitigation efforts.
