Abstract

This article critically examines Muhammad Iqbal’s thought on the reconstruction of Islamic thought and its relevance to contemporary challenges. As a philosopher and reformer, Iqbal rejects stagnation and advocates for the revitalization of ijtihad and the integration of reason and revelation in understanding Islam. Using a qualitative and literature-based approach, this research analyzes Iqbal’s concept of khudi (selfhood) as the core of his intellectual reconstruction, aiming to develop creative, adaptive, and socially responsible Muslim individuals. The findings indicate that Iqbal’s ideas are highly relevant for addressing issues such as identity crises, spiritual poverty, and the challenges of globalization, particularly in the fields of education, theology, and character formation. Iqbal asserts the necessity of education that integrates spiritual values with modern rationality to produce a well-rounded individual (insan kamil) capable of competing in a globalized world. However, the implementation of Iqbal’s thought still faces significant challenges, including resistance from traditionalists and the risk of misinterpreting khudi as mere individualism. This article highlights Iqbal’s vital contribution to constructing a dynamic, humanistic, and contextually relevant paradigm for Islamic scholarship and civilization. The results of this study are expected to provide a foundation for contemporary Islamic renewal strategies and serve as inspiration for academics, educators, and policymakers.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Living Qur’an concept in school education through a systematic literature review. The Living Qur’an concept emphasizes the internalization of Qur’anic values into the daily lives of students, going beyond mere memorization or textual understanding. The literature reveals that the success of Living Qur’an implementation is strongly influenced by the habituation of religious activities such as Qur’an recitation (tadarus), congregational prayers, and Qur’anic literacy, all of which effectively foster students’ religiosity and strong character. Teacher professionalism and exemplary conduct are central factors, positioning teachers as facilitators, motivators, and role models in this process, further supported by digital innovations such as the E-Rapor Qur’an application, which enhances monitoring and evaluation of learning. Furthermore, synergy among schools, families, and the broader social environment is crucial to holistically strengthen the internalization of Qur’anic values. However, challenges remain, including limited infrastructure, insufficient environmental support, and an overemphasis on rote memorization. This research recommends strengthening teacher capacity, developing technology-based learning innovations, and fostering active multi-stakeholder collaboration as key strategies. Thus, the Living Qur’an concept can be optimized as a model for character education that is adaptive and relevant to contemporary educational demands, shaping morally upright, Qur’anic-minded generations ready to face global challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

This study analyzes the comparison of the Trapezoidal, Simpson 1/3, and Simpson 3/8 to approximate numerical integration using Microsoft Excel, with the variation of the interval . The test function is  on the interval . Because it is smooth and lacks an elementary antiderivative, the results indicate that the Simpson Method outperforms the Trapezoidal method in accuracy. The Trapezoidal method yields absolute errors on the order of  to , while Simpson 1/3 and 3/8 achieve  to , with Simpson 1/3 performing best across all . These findings confirm the higher convergence order of Simpson methods ) vs . Excel implementation proves effective as an accessible learning tool for numerical methods, supporting integral computation in higher education. This research contributes to simplifying computational approaches for engineering applications and education, and opens up opportunities for more effective implementation of numerical methods in practical teaching. The results of this research are expected to enrich understanding of numerical applications in engineering and science.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the underlying reasons for the unsuccessful implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) within a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME), namely a convenience store located in Malang. Adopting a qualitative exploratory method, the study gathered data through direct observation and in-depth interviews with both the store owner and staff. The findings reveal that, although top management expressed support, the ERP initiative did not succeed. The main contributing factors were limited employee competencies, inadequate project management, the absence of a well-balanced project team, and resistance to organizational change. In addition, insufficient training programs and low employee motivation led to ERP being regarded as a burden rather than an effective tool. The study emphasizes the critical role of organizational preparedness, especially in terms of managing change and developing human resources, in achieving a successful ERP implementation.
